Abstract:Under mild conditions, a series of alpha,alpha-difluoro-beta-ketoamides were synthesized with Selectfluor (R) as the F+ source in the presence of K2CO3 in the mixed-solvent of water and PEG-400 (V-H2O : VPEG-400 = 3 : 1), without additional phase-transfer catalyst. By using this approach, most cases examined in this study proceeded in nearly quantitative conversions regardless of the electronic nature of the substituent pattern. (c) 2013 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:A straightforward method that enables the formation of biologically attractive trifluoromethyl ketones from readily available methyl esters using the potent greenhouse gas fluoroform (HCF 3 , HFC-23) was developed. The combination of fluoroform and KHMDS in triglyme at −40 °C was effective for this transformation, with good yields as high as 92%. Substrate scope of the trifluoromethylation procedure was explored for aromatic, aliphatic, and conjugated methyl esters. This study presents a straightforward trifluoromethylation process of various methyl esters that convert well to the corresponding trifluoromethyl ketones. The tolerance of various pharmacophores under the reaction conditions was also explored.

Abstract:A convenient method for synthesizing of β‐trifluoromethyl vinyl ethers and diethers through the base-mediated C-O coupling of (E)-1,2-dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene and phenols has been developed. Remarkably, the present process shows perfect regioselective and stereoselective yield of the Z/E isomers for β‐trifluoromethyl vinyl ethers with a high efficiency. Additionally, β‐trifluoromethyl vinyl diethers with identical/ diverse phenoxy groups were also obtained and the regulation of the product configuration was achieved. These reactions feature transition-metal-free conditions, wide substrate scope, and atom economic characters.

Abstract:A cross-coupling of aldehydes and α-trifluoromethyl alkyl bromides was developed via dual nickel/photoredox catalysis system. A wide variety of substrates bearing a diverse set of functional groups were compatible to afford α-trifluoromethyl ketones under very mild conditions (visible light, ambient temperature, no strong base). Selectively tunable access to these ketones with the trifluoromethyl group on any one side can be smoothly obtained by simply modulating different reagents. Meanwhile, the asymmetric pattern was also investigated.

The solvent-free method featured mild condition, short time, high yield, simple operation and broad substrate scope.
