Abstract:The title compound, ((C772445762223], is composed of CdII-containing complex anions and benzimidazolium (HBZIM) cations. The CdII atom is coordinated by a tridentate oxydiacetate (ODA) dianion, a chloride anion and two benzimidazole (BZIM) molecules, forming a distorted octahedral CdNCl)-Cl-H-Cl-N-Cl-)[Cd(C-Cl-H-Cl-O-Cl-)Cl(C-Cl-H-Cl-N-Cl-)-Cl-O coordination geometry. The ODA dianion chelates facially to the CdII atom. The face-to-face distances of 3.444 (12) and 3.386 (5) between partially overlapped BZIM rings and between HBZIM rings, respectively, indicate the existence of p - p stacking in the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cd(C4H4O4S)(C7H6N2)(3)]center dot 2H(2)O, the Cd-II atom is surrounded by three benzimidazole ligands and one thiodiacetate dianion to complete a distorted octahedral CdN3O2S coordination geometry. The tridentate TDA chelates to the Cd-II atom in a facial mode. A C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interaction and hydrogen bonding between neighboring complexes help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Cd(C7H5O3)2(C12H8N2)2]·2H2O, the CdII ion is located on a twofold axis and assumes a distorted octahedral CdN4O2 coordination geometry, formed by two phenanthroline (phen) ligands and two 4-hydroxybenzoate (HBA) anions. π–π stacking is observed between the parallel phen ligands of adjacent CdII complexes. One water O atom is located on a twofold axis. The other water molecule is disordered over two sites.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the complex tris(benzimidazole)iminonodiacetato(2-)cadmium (II) dihydrate, (BZIM)(3)(IDA)Cd center dot 2H(2)O, was determined by single-crystal X-ray methods. The Cd(II) ion assumes distorted octahedral coordination geometry formed by three benzimidazole molecules and in iminodiacetate dianion. The dianion chelates Cd(II) as a terdentate in the facial configuration. Weak intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions exist between neighboring benzimidazole rings. The thermal decomposition of the title complex has been studied. IR assignments based on the molecular structure have been made.

Abstract:In the structure of the title complex, (C(7)H(7)N(2)S)(2)[Cd(C(8)H(8)O(5))(2)]·6H(2)O, the Cd(II) atom is located on an inversion center and is O,O',O''-chelated by two symmetry-related 7-oxabicyclo-[2.2.1]heptane-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The 2-amino-benzothia-zolium cation links with the Cd complex anion via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. Extensive O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving lattice water mol-ecules occur in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title compound [NdK(btec)(H2O)2]n 1 was synthesized via the hydrothermal reaction of Zn(OAc)2·H2O,Nd(NO3)3 and KOH with 1,2,4,5-benzenetetra-carboxylic acid(H4btec),and characterized by elemental analysis and infrared spectra.The crystal of 1 crystallizes in monoclinic,space group P21/c with a = 8.9023(3),b = 7.8954(1),c = 17.6249(5),β = 91.857(1)o,V = 1238.16(6)3,Z = 4,C10H6KNdO10,Mr = 469.49,Dc = 2.519 g/cm3,F(000) = 900 and μ(MoKα) = 4.585 mm-1.The final R = 0.0404 and wR = 0.0832 for 2197 observed reflections with I 2σ(I) and R = 0.0431 and wR = 0.0854 for all data.X-ray diffraction reveals that the btec ligand serves as a μ16-bridging ligand to link the Nd(III) and K(I) atoms into a three-dimensional coordination polymer.Photoluminescent investigation shows that the title compound displays strong emission in the blue region,which may be attributed to an intraligand emission state.

Abstract:Crystals of the title complex with diaminobithiazole (DABT) were obtained by a solution diffusion method. X-ray diffraction analysis shows the complex to be monoclinic, space group P21/c with cell dimensions a=11.684(2), b=13.625(2), c=14.859(1) Å and β=109.970(7)°; R=0.026. The Cd(II) atom lies in a distorted octahedral environment with two DABT and two Cl ligands in a cis arrangement. The average internal dihedral angle of 9.3° between thiazole rings of DABT shows the twisted structure of the ligand in the complex. The Cd(II) atom deviates by some -0.570 Å from the mean plane of the thiazole ring containing N(4), but the Cd-N(4) bond is the shortest among four Cd-N bonds in the structure. Intramolecular H-bonds between Cl atoms and amino groups stabilize the cis-configuration of the complex.

Abstract:Four novel inorganic-organic hybrid cadmium borates, namely [EAH]2{(py)2Cd@[B14O20-(OH)6]} (1, py = pyridine, EA = ethylamine), [PAH]2{(py)2Cd@[B14O20(OH)6]} (2, PA = propylamine), [pyH]2{(py)2Cd@[B14O20(OH)6]} (3) and {(AImH)2Cd@[B14O20(OH)6]} (4, AIm = 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole) have been solvothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, respectively. They represent the first hybrid cadmium borates that exhibit 3D supramolecular open-frameworks with different topologies. All the networks are formed by the unprecedented Cd-centred cluster [Cd@B14O20(OH)6](2-), and further link each other via a multipoint H-bond system. UV-Vis-NIR spectral investigation reveals that these borates are wide-band-gap semiconductors. Moreover, they display strong fluorescence emission around 430 nm, making them excellent candidates for optoelectronic applications as blue materials.

Abstract:A new fluoride borate crystal, CdZn2KB2O6F, has been synthesized by flux-supported solid-state reaction. The crystal structure has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the trigonal space group P3¯c1 with a=5.0381(6)Å, b=5.0381(6)Å, c=15.1550(19)Å, α=90.00°, β=90.00°, γ=120.00°, Z=2. The crystal represents a new structure type in which ZnBO3 layers are connected through bridging fluorine and cadmium atoms alternately along the c-axis. K+ cations are filled in the intralayer open channels to balance charge. IR and Raman spectra further confirm the crystal structure. Photoluminescent measurement reveals that CdZn2KB2O6F exhibits blue fluorescence at room temperature in the solid-state.

Abstract:A new cadmium coordination polymer, [Cd(C14H10N3O5)(2)(C5H5N)(2)](n), has been synthesized by the reaction of 2-hydroxy-N'-(4-nitrobenzoyl)benzohydraizide with cadmium acetate in pyridine and ethanol mixture solution. Its molecular structure was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and X-ray crystal structure determination. Crystal data for this compound: tetragonal, space group I4(1)/a, M-r = 871.10, a = 16.960(6), b = 16.960(6), c = 28.612(6) angstrom, V = 8230(4) angstrom(3), Z = 8, D-c = 1.406 g.m(-3) and F(000) = 3536. the final R = 0.0326, wR = 0.0847 for 2682 observed reflections with I> 2 sigma(I) and R= 0.0460, wR = 0.0896 for all reflections. In the molecular structure of the complex, the cadmium atoms are coordinated to four N and two 0 atoms forming a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The intermolecular hydrogen bonds link the neighboring molecules to form a coordination polymer which was then evaluated for its anti-tumor activities against two kinds of cell lines (K562 and BGC) by NETT method. A preliminary bioactivity study indicates that the complex has distinct inhibitory effect on K562 cell lines.

Abstract:Crystals of cadmium zinc diborate, Cd1.17Zn0.83B2O5, have been obtained by spontaneous nucleation in a platinum crucible at 1072 K. The crystal structure exhibits diborate groups, B2O54-, sharing O atoms with considerably distorted M1O(6) octahedra and M2O(4) tetrahedra. Both metal centers are disordered in the proportion Cd: Zn = 0.92: 0.08 on the M1 site and Cd:Zn = 0.25:0.75 on the M2 site. A strong second-harmonic generation has been observed for the title compound when excited with an Nd:YAG laser (lambda = 1064 nm).

Abstract:A previously unreported geometrically frustrating cobalt oxalatophosphate, K2Co(HPO4)(C2O4)(OH2)⋅H2O (KCoCP), is solvothermally synthesized and characterized. KCoCP shows a typical two-dimensional (2D) layered structure of [Co(HPO4)(C2O4)(OH2)]2− separated by K+ and H2O, which is isostructural to the previously reported Fe analogue. Specifically, the magnetic Co2+ ions sit on a distorted triangular lattice (TL) and introduce geometrical frustration into the system. The mainstay of the 2D layer [Co(HPO4)(C2O4)(OH2)]2− is cobalt oxalate skeleton with HPO4 and H2O groups staggering on both sides. The Bravais–Friedel–Donnay–Harker (BFDH) theory, which is used to predict the polyhedral morphology and crystal growth faces, indicates a chamfer polyhedron morphology of KCoCP crystal. UV–vis diffuse reflection and electronic structure calculation suggest KCoCP being a semiconductor with an indirect band gap (0.214 eV). The absence of long-range magnetic ordering for KCoCP is proved via a combination of magnetic susceptibility and specific-heat measurements down to 1.8 K. Thus, KCoCP shows potential to investigate unconventional low temperature physical properties in TL system.

Abstract:A potassium gadolinium phosphate crystal, K3Gd5(PO4)(6), has been synthesized by a high-temperature solution reaction and exhibits a new structural family of the alkali-metal-rare-earth phosphate system. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows the structure to be monoclinic with space group C2/c and the following cell parameters: a) 17.470(3) angstrom, b) 6.9365(6) angstrom, c = 18.096(2) angstrom, beta = 114.308(4)degrees, V = 1998.4( 5) angstrom(3), Z = 4. Its structure features a three-dimensional Gd-5(PO4)(6)(3-) anionic framework with interesting tunnels where the K atoms are located. The framework are constructed from Gd polyhedra and isolated PO4 tetrahedra. We have also investigated the optical properties of K3Gd5(PO4)(6) in terms of the measured absorption and emission spectra.

Abstract:The title compound, K(+.)C(14)H(9)O(3)(-.)2H(2)O, was prepared by slow evaporation of an aqueous solution of potassium 2-benzoylbenzoate. Potassium cations are coordinated by six O atoms of two 2-benzoylbenzoate anions and three water molecules in a polymeric structure with bridging ligands. There are intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds in the crystal structure.
