Abstract:A silver-catalyzed dehydrogenative cross-coupling reaction of substituted furans, thiophene, thioazole, and pyrrole 1a-e with dialkyl phosphites 2 was first developed to afford corresponding phosphonated products 3a-h with up to 89% yield and good regioselectivities. Moreover, an unprecedented coupling of various substituted pyridines 1f-k with dialkyl phosphites 2 using AgNO3 as a catalyst and K2S2O8 as an oxidant, followed by reduction with Na2S2O3, was also realized to furnish desired pyridine phosphonates 3i-q in satisfactory yields with good regioselectivities.

Abstract:Organo-phosphorus compounds have important applications in metal-organic chemistry, coordination chemistry and biochemistry. Therefore, the C — P cross-coupling reaction was an important method to prepare organo-phosphorus, which is also a hotspot of current research. Hence, we have studied a kind of cross-coupling reaction between arenesulphonate and phosphites using palladium as the catalyst to synthesize a series of organo-phosphorus compounds efficiently, and the approach was applied to prepare a chiral N/P ligand.

Abstract:A highly efficient, Ag-I/K2S2O8-mediated regioselective phosphonation reaction has been developed by using electron-deficient directing groups. These phosphonation reactions were performed with N,N-dialkylbenzamides, N,N-dialkylbenzenesulfonamides, and nitrobenzene. This method has a broad substrate scope and offers facile construction of C-P bonds.

Abstract:An electrochemically regioselective C–H phosphorothiolation of (hetero)arenes with thiocyanate as the S source under ultrasonic irradiation has been developed. The synergistic cooperation of electrooxidation and ultrasonication markedly accelerated the C–H phosphorothiolation reaction. Abstract:ynthesis of valuable compounds directly from small and simple molecules is an area of great interest in chemical research. However, the preparation of most organophosphorus compounds from white phosphorus currently relies on inefficient, stepwise procedures that result in significant environmental pollution and poor atom economy. We herein describe a novel and high-yielding route to generate various phosphorothioates with diverse substituents from white phosphorus, disulfides, and alcohols in a single reaction step. This innovative three-component coupling reaction utilizes basic industrial raw materials and offers several advantages, including operational simplicity, mild reaction conditions, a broad substrate scope, and high product selectivity.

Abstract:A silver‐catalyzed phosphonation of 2‐arylbenzo[d]thiazoles has been accomplished. This strategy provides a highly selective and efficient method for the generation of para‐phosphonation products from electron‐deficient arenes via cross‐dehydrogenation coupling and a radical pathway. A method for the silver(I)‐catalyzed phosphonation of electron‐deficient 2‐arylbenzo[d]thiazoles has been developed. This strategy is highly regioselective for obtaining para‐selective phosphonation products by cross‐dehydrogenation coupling with good functional group tolerance and requires no prefunctionalization. This facile approach provides a practical route for synthesizing arylphosphine oxides. Mechanistic studies show that the para‐phosphonation occurs via a radical process.

Abstract:An electrochemical approach to biheteroaryls through the coupling of diverse N-heteroarenes with heteroaryl phosphonium salts is reported. Abstract:An operationally simple and highly selective Au/Ag bimetallic-catalyzed cross-dehydrogenative biaryl coupling between pyrazoles and fluoroarenes has been developed. With this reaction, a wide range of biheteroaryl products can be obtained in moderate to good yields with excellent functional group compatibility. The exact role of silver salts, previously overlooked in most gold-catalyzed transformations, has been carefully investigated in this biaryl coupling. Insightful experimental and theoretical studies indicate that silver acetate is the actual catalyst for C-H activation of electron-poor arenes, rather than the previously reported gold(I)-catalyzed process. An unprecedented Au/Ag dual catalysis is proposed, in which silver(I) is responsible for the activation of electron-poor fluoroarenes via a concerted metalation-deprotonation pathway, and gold(III) is responsible for the activation of electron-rich pyrazoles via an electrophilic aromatic substitution process. Kinetic studies reveal that ArFnAu(III)-mediated C-H activation of pyrazoles is most likely the rate-limiting step.

Abstract:Transition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling of arenes bearing two or more potential coupling sites is often challenging because of the chemoselectivity issue. If orthogonal cross-couplings were applicable, one can develop a synthetically useful approach for consecutive functionalization of the starting arenes compounds. We herein reported a Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of triazenyl-substituted aryl bromides catalyzed by PdCl2(PCy3)2/PPh3 under basic conditions. The resultant polyfunctionalized aryl triazenes could undergo Suzuki-Miyaura couplings under acidic conditions or be converted to many other functionalized arenes. This orthogonal coupling strategy allows for a sequential functionalization of arenes with same type of nucleophilic reagents toward the synthesis of diverse biaryls and teraryls.

Abstract:A class of novel chiral‐bridged biphenyl monophosphine ligands with a benzofuran moiety (He‐phos) has been successfully synthesized and reported. These ligands exhibited good performance in the gold‐catalyzed enantioselective cycloaddition reaction of 2‐(1‐alkynyl)‐2‐en‐1‐ones with nitrones, resulting in the successful preparation of a series of polyaryl‐substituted heterocyclic compounds with high enantioselectivities (up to 99% yield, 98% ee). The wide substrate adaptability (53 examples) and mild reaction conditions demonstrate the practicability of He‐phos in this reaction.
