Abstract:An efficient synthesis of novel phenoxyimine ligands containing a difluorovinylbiphenyl group was based on the Suzuki coupling coupling of 4-bromo-2,6-difluoroaniline with 4-styrylboronic acid followed by a condensation reaction with various arylaldehydes. The structures were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectra and HRMS. The advantages of this synthetic route were its simple operation, mild reaction conditions and good yields.

Abstract:The benzamide-derived P,O-ligands efficiently promoted the Pd-catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling reactions of aryl bromides with phenylboronic acid at 0.01 mol % of Pd loading at 60-80degreesC to form biaryls in excellent yields. Abstract:Five new NNN pincer-type ligands and their palladium complexes were successfully synthesised and characterised by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and UV-vis analyses. TEM analysis was used to observe the morphological character of the black residues obtained from the fourth cycle of the reusability test. Furthermore, suitable crystals of the N2,N6-bis(2-tert-butylphenyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide and its palladium complex were elucidated with the X-ray single crystal diffraction method. Both the ligand and its palladium complex crystallise in a monoclinic system with space group P21/c for the H2L4 and C2/c for the palladium complex. The structure of the pincer ligand and its palladium complex were stabilised by intramolecular and intermolecular C-H⋅⋅⋅O, C-H⋅⋅⋅N, and N-H⋅⋅⋅N contacts. A Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction between aryl halides and phenylboronic acid was used to assess the catalytic abilities of the palladium pincer complexes. All of the prepared complexes exhibited considerable catalytic activity. However, complexes 4 (Acetonitrile-N2,N6-bis(2-tert-butylphenyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamidopalladium(II)) and 5 (Acetonitrile-N2,N6-bis(2-nitrophenyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamidopalladium(II)) provided almost 100% conversion with nearly 100% yield in the reaction between 4-bromotoluene and phenylboronic acid. Furthermore, these active complexes catalysed the reaction of the sterically hindered and deactivated substrates (1-Bromo-4-izobutylbenzene and 2-bromo-6-methoxynaphthalene) with phenylboronic acid, and complete conversion and yields up to 100% were achieved in a short time with the 2-bromo-6-methoxynaphthalene.

Abstract:A class of novel chiral‐bridged biphenyl monophosphine ligands with a benzofuran moiety (He‐phos) has been successfully synthesized and reported. These ligands exhibited good performance in the gold‐catalyzed enantioselective cycloaddition reaction of 2‐(1‐alkynyl)‐2‐en‐1‐ones with nitrones, resulting in the successful preparation of a series of polyaryl‐substituted heterocyclic compounds with high enantioselectivities (up to 99% yield, 98% ee). The wide substrate adaptability (53 examples) and mild reaction conditions demonstrate the practicability of He‐phos in this reaction.

Abstract:The Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction was utilized for the synthesis of 15 new compounds containing phenothiazine (PTZ), phenoxazine (POZ), carbazole (Cz), and triphenylamine (TPA) as good electron donors. The synthesized compounds were furnished with active carbaldehyde groups and decorated with phenyl, thienyl, furyl, imidazolyl, or oxadiazolyl units linked to either one or two sides of the central cores (PTZ, POZ, and Cz). A simple catalytic systems based on Pd(PPh 3 ) 4 were tried and the results showed better C-C coupling efficiencies of the electron-rich phenothiazine halides over phenoxazine and carbazole analogues when coupled with either electron-rich or electron-deficient boronic acid precursors. Besides, the coupling process of substituted phenothiazine halides with different boronic acids precursors, based on phenyl (Ph), furyl (Fu) and thienyl (Th) units, was found to be dependent on the electronic nature of both PTZ-halide and boronic acid precursors. Coupling efficiency of Ph, Fu, and Th rings with the skeleton of imidazolyl-PTZ-Br coupler to bring up compounds 6a-c showed the order: Ph>Fu>Th (with the yield of 86, 85, and 80%, respectively), while coupling efficiency of the brominated PTZ-oxadiazolyl-phenyl coupler with different arylboronic acids showed the order of Th>Ph>Fu to obtain compounds 8a-c . Additionally, the TPA derivative 11b was obtained with an excellent yield of 96% using Pd(PPh 3 ) 4 . The successful activation of the synthesized derivatives with carbaldehyde groups and the integration of different spacers made them substantially suitable to be exploited as promising intermediates for the future synthesis of versatile π-conjugated systems.

Abstract:A general and efficient palladium-catalyzed coupling of propargylic carbonates with organoboronic acids has been developed by identifying a commercially available semi-labile bidentated o-(diphenylphosphino) benzaldehyde as the effective ligand affording allenes under a set of very mild reaction conditions. Many functional groups are tolerated in this reaction, and high chirality transfer has also been realized in the presence of water leading to a very rapid reaction for the synthesis of easily racemized 1,3-diarylallenes. A rationale has been proposed to demonstrate the role of the ligand.

Abstract:A series of novel P-chiral monophosphorus ligands exhibit efficiency in asymmetric Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions, enabling the construction of an array of chiral biaryl products in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 96% ee) under mild conditions. The carbonyl-benzooxazolidinone moiety in these chiral biaryl products allows facile derivatization for further synthetic applications. A computational study has revealed that a π-π interaction between the two coupling partners can enhance the enantioselectivity of the coupling reaction.

Abstract:A direct C‐H phosphonylation of pyridine by N‐benzylating activation is reported, which afforded 4‐pyridylphosphine oxides with high regioselectivity, without the employment of metal catalyst or expensive activator. By increasing the electrophilicity of pyridinium with electron‐withdrawing substituents on the N‐benzyl group, the phosphonylation process could be realized at room temperature. Control experiments and NMR investigation confirmed the interaction between DBU and diphenylphosphine oxide which generated the true phosphorus nucleophile. Moreover, DFT calculations offered enough insight into an intermolecular cooperative dehydrogenation‐debenzylation mechanism, which helped to elucidate the origin of C4‐regioselectivity in this metal‐free Chichibabin‐type phosphonylation.

Abstract:The indazolium halides containing various N-substituents have been conveniently prepared and applied in the palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions of aryl bromides with arylboronic acids at mild reaction conditions. The cross-coupling reaction provides the desired products in good to high yields. The ease of synthesis and the modularity, and the broad range of aryl bromides and arylboronic acids make this type of ligand attractive and promising for transition metal catalysis. Abstract:Herein, we describe our design and synthesis of novel chiral monophosphine ligands by the short-step addition of chiral lactates as side chains to the well-known ligand SPhos/RuPhos. The new chiral ligands were shown to be highly efficient in palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura coupling, providing a series of axially chiral biphenyl products in high yield and high enantioselectivity. Furthermore, the gram-scale reaction and the diverse conversions of the products demonstrated the potential utility of the approach.

Abstract:A class of chiral-bridged biphenyl phosphine-carboxylate bifunctional ligands CB-Phos has been developed and successfully applied to Pd(0)-catalyzed single enantioselective C-H arylation and one pot cascade reaction involving Suzuki cross-coupling and C-H arylation. The catalytic system provides a new and convenient way for the synthesis of versatile chiral dihydrophenanthridines with rich structure and broad functional group tolerance. Good to excellent yields with high enantioselectivities were generally achieved. The reaction mechanism of the cascade reaction was also preliminarily discussed.

Abstract:Planar chiral bisphosphine ligands based on diphenyl [2.2]paracyclophane (PhPhanePHOS) were successfully synthesized in a practical manner in four steps from commercially available 4,12-bisbromo-[2.2]paracyclophane as a new family of bisphosphine ligands. The novel PhPhanePHOS ligands provide high catalytic activity in Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylalkylation reactions in preliminary experiments.
