Abstract:A simple, air-stable, inexpensive and easily prepared molecule, N-methyliminodiacetic acid (MIDA), is reported as a ligand for palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction of phenylboronic acid with aryl chlorides. The yield of the corresponding Suzuki coupling reaction is up to around 90% at both high temperature of 80 degrees C and room temperature under ambient atmosphere. Abstract:A novel PdCl2/bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine-based ligand (1) catalytic system, which is water-soluble and air-stable, has been successfully synthesized and applied for Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction. In the presence of catalytic amount of PdCl2/1 system, arylboronic acids can couple with a wide range of aryl halides, including aryl bromides and aryl chlorides. The reactions proceed under mild conditions to give excellent yields, and a wide range of functionalities is tolerated.

Abstract:One palladium dichloride adduct of a phosphine-pyridine ligand N-diphenylphosphanyl-2-aminopyridine (L1) [(L1)PdCl2] (1) has been prepared and structurally characterized. Compound 1 can be used as an effective catalyst for the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions of unreactive aryl chlorides with aryl boronic acids, and worked much better than its mono- or bidentate phosphine ligands. The reactions with a wide scope of substrates proceeded to give desired products in good to excellent yields.

Abstract:The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling is among the most important C-C bond-forming reactions available due to its reliability, chemoselectivity, and diversity. Aryl halides and pseudohalides such as iodides, bromides, and triflates are traditionally used as the electrophilic coupling partner. The expansion of the reaction scope to nontraditional electrophiles is an ongoing challenge to enable an even greater number of useful products to be made from simple starting materials. Herein, we present how an NHC-based Pd catalyst can enable Suzuki-Miyaura coupling where the C(acyl)-O bond of aryl esters takes on the role of electrophile, allowing the synthesis of various ketone-containing products. This contrasts known reactions of similar esters that provide biaryls via nickel catalysis. The underlying cause of this mechanistic divergence is investigated by DFT calculations, and the robustness of esters compared to more electrophilic acylative coupling partners is analyzed.

Abstract:An easily prepared tetraphosphine N,N,N′,N′‐tetra(diphenylphosphinomethyl)‐1,2‐ethylenediamine (1) combined with PdCl2 affords an efficient catalytic system for Suzuki cross‐coupling of aryl and heteroaryl bromides. A high turnover number of 750 000 is obtained with the catalyst loading as low as 1 ppm. This catalyst system exhibits good stability and longevity. In this study, a broad scope of substrates is investigated and satisfactory yields are obtained. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:The Suzuki-Miyaura reaction of aryl iodides and aryl bromides was catalysed by Pd(OAc)(2) (1 mol%) using K3PO4 center dot 3H(2)O (2 equiv) as base in dimethyl acetamide DMA-H2O (1: 1) at room temperature. Changes in the loading of Pd(OAc)2 (from 1 mol% to 2 mol%), temperature (from room temperature to 80 degrees C) and the ratio of DMA to water (from 1: 1 to 5: 1) resulted in the successful coupling of activated aryl chlorides with phenylboronic acid.

Abstract:An efficient protocol for the Suzuki reactions catalyzed by Pd(PPh3)(4)-derived nanoparticles palladium catalyst has been developed. This method is able to prepare a variety of biaryls under air atmosphere at 25 similar to 90 degrees C in DMF/H2O mixture solvent. In the presence of this catalyst, the cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides with arylboronic acids proceed smoothly and afforded the desired coupling products with high yields. The catalyst could be recycled 6 times without loss of activity and decrease of yield.

Abstract:A series of ferrocene-based phosphine–triazine ligands were successfully employed in the Pd-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction of aryl chlorides with arylboronic acids, with ligand 1b was demonstrated to be the most effective one. Under optimized reaction conditions, the catalytic system displayed a remarkable tolerance towards electron-donating substituents and electron-withdrawing substituents.

Abstract:A mild and efficient protocol for the phosphine-free Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction of aryl bromides with arylboronic acids has been developed which utilizes the commercially available 10% Pd/C (3.5 mol% Pd) in ethanol-water (1:1) and Na2CO3 at room temperature. The reaction is convenient, environmentally benign and generates excellent yields of the coupled products (94-100%). The catalyst can be recycled using simple filtration and washing sequences without significant decrease in the yield of coupling product up to the fourth run.

Abstract:A series of air-stable aminocarbene-like palladium(II) complexes were easily prepared by the reaction of bis-aromaticisocyanide-dichloropalladium(II) with N-arylbenzamidines. 0.1 mol% of the optimal palladium complex 3a showed excellent catalytic activity for Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction at room temperature and the desired products were isolated in up to 98% yields. Moreover, a large-scale reaction showed that 0.01 mol% 3a was enough to catalyze the coupling reaction efficiently at room temperature to give the desired product in 93% yield.

Abstract:An air-stable tetraphosphine N,N,N′,N′-tetra(diphenylphosphinomethyl)-benzene-1,3-diamine (L3) was easily prepared in two steps from triphenylphosphine, which in combination with [Pd(η3-C3H5)Cl]2 affords an efficient catalyst for Suzuki–Miyaura coupling of activated chloroarenes. Even at high temperature of 130 °C, this catalyst exhibits good stability and longevity, and could allow a high turnover number of 680,000 to be reached.

Abstract:Novel N-heterocyclic carbene sulfonamide ligands derived from binaphthyl-2,2'-diamine (BINAM) and their tridentate NHC-Pd(II) complexes as well as their corresponding NHC-Pd(II) complexes bearing weakly coordinating acetate counterions have been successfully synthesized in good yields. These NHC-palladium(II) complexes have been characterized by X-ray crystal structure diffraction. Moreover, we found that these NHC-Pd(II) complexes bearing weakly coordinating acetate counterions are quite effective in Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction to give the corresponding products in good to excellent yields in most cases at room temperature in 2-propanol in the presence of sodium tert-butoxide.

Abstract:Novel phosphine-imidazolium salts 2 have been synthesized and successfully used in palladium-catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling. Abstract:The direct Suzuki Miyaura cross-coupling of amides catalyzed by Pd-NHC complexes is reported. Using a single protocol, commercially available, air-and moisture stable (NHC)Pd(R-allyl)Cl complexes can effect Suzuki Miyaura cross-coupling of a wide range of amides with arylboronic acids in very good yields. The studies described herein represent the use of versatile Pd-NHC complexes as catalysts for transition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling of amides by N-C bond activation. The Pd-NHC catalysts provide a significant improvement over all current Pd-PR3 systems employed for the amide N -C bond activation. Mechanistic studies provide strong support for the development of a unified reactivity scale of the amide bond for the generation of aryl-metal intermediates.

Abstract:A simple and efficient system for Suzuki cross-coupling reactions was developed using a ligandless catalyst of Pd nanoclusters generated in situ from Pd(acac)2. The cross-coupling reactions proceeded under mild reaction conditions with a high reaction rate(5 min) to give various biaryls in high yields. The system also exhibited catalytic potential for Heck reaction between aryl bromides and styrene.
