Abstract:Web service is becoming an important approach for enterprises to implement their business applications on Internet. However, most of Web services are built based on special business function, they are isolated and do not address the information communication for integrating the business processes. Abstract:This paper presents a multi-layer framework that facilitates SMEs to establish e-service systems. The framework unifies service theories, service components, service platforms and e-service systems into a hierarchical architecture. It is abstracted from construction viewpoint, and tries to bridge the gap between technological advances and actual capacity of SMEs. The service components layer is comprised of reusable components. And the service platforms layer includes a series of diversified platforms that offer technical support to SMEs. Abstract:Workflow systems now face a difficulty that most Workflow Management Systems (WfMS) only support few enterprises' existing applications and this problem has been the supreme bottleneck. Without uniform standard of integration, deployments of WfMS must be limited by exterior applications. So bringing a new application-independent integration framework forward becomes an urgent affair of WfMS. This paper imports Web Service and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) into the reference model of WfMC and introduces our extended workflow model which can support Web Service and other heterogeneous applications. A WfMS prototype based on the extended workflow model and its deployment into the Management Information System of a virtual enterprise are also presented.

Abstract:With the development of web services related technologies, the enterprise business systems can be encapsulated through web services. The service oriented architecture can be adopted for the enterprise business processes. Specific interfaces are introduced between the web services of different enterprises for data exchanging to achieve the cross-enterprise systems integration. Different enterprises can be organized into virtual enterprise through web services to share resources and achieve win-win. This paper introduces an adaptive model of virtual enterprise based on dynamic composition of web services (DCWS-VE). A service execution plan will be dynamically built to aim at the target of the virtual enterprise through the composition of web services. The development and deployment of web services is separated to support the dynamically deploying and binding of the web service at run time. The members in the virtual enterprise will be located through the dynamic web service discovery based on DAML+OIL logic reasoning, and selected through the dynamic web services negotiation with multi- steps protocol to organize the virtual enterprise at run time. Electronic contract is adopted in the organizing process of virtual enterprise to achieve the stable running.

Abstract:Web service is an Internet-based software component that can shield all sorts of resources on basis of standard protocol stack. It helps to raise the level of abstraction and simplify conventional COTS middleware for resource sharing and cooperation across organization. In this paper, a Web service container framework (WSCF) is presented to offer an effective systematic solution for Web service-based application supporting environment, referencing from CORBA and J2EE system managing architecture and using SOAP interoperation protocol. The proposed framework focuses on addressing problems in two aspects: 1) Web service runtime supporting technologies: unified resource mapping strategy, flexible service adaptation mechanism, and SOAP engine scheduling algorithm; 2) several application supporting services: publication and discovery service, Web service composition service, and security service, etc. In particular, it describes ongoing project StarWebService that has followed WSCF. Finally, some open issues about WSCF are introduced and the future direction of WSCF is pointed out.

Abstract:To flexibly integrate various systems at different stages and improve the openness and reusability of information in remote collaborative product development, a framework of integrated product modeling based on Web Services is presented The integrated model consists of a master model and application models that combine static and dynamic information supporting whole product lifecycle. The master model contains the core and shared information. The application model relating to specific manufacture domain is built up by extracting the master model and complementing domain information. The flexible integration of heterogeneous systems is ensured by the use of Web Services. The openness and expansibility are preserved by combining STEP and XML for information representation and exchange. The high reusability of product information is achieved by using a service-oriented multi-granularity schema The information consistency among the master model and application models is maintained through a coordinated-protocol for rapidly acquiring alteration and reacting to it.

Abstract:This paper presents a unified Web Services framework based on service request language.In this framework, Web Services are provided through a unified Web publishing component and organized by service items.The client can obtain various customised services by flexible combination of those service items.The service request language is intro- duced to serve as the description method for the service request and interoperation policy of the client.The service re- quest is interpreted and executed on the server,this can provide conversation support for the interoperation and greatly decreases the occupation of bandwidth.Conversation control based on state diagrams and authority check of service i- tems are performed on the server.Thus the validity and integrality of the conversation can be ensured.

Abstract:The e-government top framework is the most important issue of e-government development. And constitu- ting the people-oriented service e-government is the essential goal of the research on e-government. In order to con- struct service e-government, a Citizen-Centric e-Government Service Framework(CCeGSF) is proposed in accordance with the designing requirements of standardization, compatibility and flexibility. This framework adapts the techniques of SOA and BPM, and has the advantages of loosely coupling with components, searnlessly sharing resources and flexi- bly extending application systems. The CCeGSF-hased e-government service system for Dalian Advanced Technological Development Zone works very well now, which provides users with convenient and high quality services.

Abstract:This paper focuses on a Web Services approach for synergetic management of heterogeneous spatial information and spatial services on the network. First, the importance of establishing an integrated framework for spatial information and spatial services is illustrated. The challenges posed by the spatial applications like digital cities include the business process integration among different organizations, the legacy applications integration and the integration of business Web services on Internet. The integrated framework meets these challenges. Secondly, a Web Service based interoperating framework among heterogeneous spatial databases and spatial services is proposed. Many utilities have been using the framework to integrate a variety of spatial databases, systems and business processes. The framework consists of four layers: WAL (Web Applications Layer), SIL (Services Integrator Layer), DSL (Distributed Services Layer) and DIL (Distributed Information Layer). Web applications access and operate the spatial information and the spatial Web services in DSL and DIL pellucidly using Toolkit packages and Web services provided by SIL. The spatial information exchange format in the framework is GML. All data and protocols are encoded in XML; one Web service can operate other Web services using SOAP protocol. Lastly, according to the framework, authors implement a system named PKU spatial Applications Integration System (π System) for spatial information and spatial services interoperation through the network using Java language.

Abstract:Web Services define a new paradigm in nowadays' collaborative applications development in enterprises. It spans systems and organizations. The use of CAD systems calls for more productive collaborative work on Internet. An efficient framework will bring a great deal of convenience to meet this demand. Considering the inherent advantages of web services, the paper presented a collaborative working framework of CAD systems based on web services and described the architecture of the framework in detail. Furthermore, several key technologies used in this framework are discussed, including services division method, which guarantees high feasibility in maintaining, and the deploying policy of distribution services for the poise of web servers' burden. Finally, an example using this framework is presented.

Abstract:Current web services standards lack the support of formal semantic descriptions of a service's nonfunctional characters, i.e. its Quality Of Service. When a large number of functionally-equivalent services have been discovered, it is difficult for users to choose which one to be invoked. Thus, QoS becomes a very critical factor in selecting among these candidates services to best meet users needs. In this paper, we design and build a general QoS ontology to support web services nonfunctional features. This ontology can solve the interoperability of QoS description. We also give a semantic web services discovery framework based on QoS ontology. The framework supports the automatic discovery of web services and it can improve the efficiency for users to find the best services.

Abstract:The growing scale and complexity of the enterprise computing systems under distributed and heterogeneous environments present new challenges to system development, integration, and maintenance. In this paper, we present a model driven Web service development framework to combat these challenges. The framework capitalizes on the unified modeling language (UML) profile for enterprise distributed object computing (EDOC), MDA (model-driven architecture) and Web services. Within the framework, firstly, a general PIM (platform independent models) is created using the EDOC CCA structural specification and CCA choreography specification which defines the general functions of a system. Secondly, the general PIM is broken down into sub-PIMs according to functional decomposition, each of which can provide service independently and will be implemented in a Web service. Thirdly, all of the PIMs are transformed to Web service interface models for publication and invoking. Afterward, transform each PIM to a BPEL specified Web service orchestration model. Finally, supported by model transform techniques, the sub EDOC PIMs are implemented into Web services on specific platforms. Automatic model transformation is the key to this framework, therefore, the transformation from EDOC CCA models to WSDL specified Web service interface models and the transformation from EDOC CCA models to BPEL specified Web service orchestration models are deeply discussed, and the detailed transformation rules are proposed. A case study is also provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of these rules and the merits of this framework.

Abstract:In this paper, we present the framework of Semantic and Automatic Service Orchestration (SASO) system for Web services modeling and composition. The SASO system has the following features: 1) it adopts a semantic approach to model Web services, and 2) it supports a Web service selection policy based on user preferences. First, we express services in their semantics so that relations among the services can be identified through ontology modeling, which is to be accomplished in two steps: input/output parameter modeling and Web service modeling. Then, we provide an algorithm for automatic service composition with a selection policy that addresses user priority. This relieves users from the tasks of manually browsing, monitoring, and composing Web services. Furthermore, SASO supports fuzzy composition of Web services when exact Web services cannot be found In SASO, composition plans are represented by graphs that can be interactively modified. These graphs are compiled into executable code to carry out the composite service. Our empirical results demonstrate that SASO not only finds the appropriate services for composition but also the best plan to execute them.

Abstract:In this paper, a framework is presented to provide a new mode for WebGIS services. This framework consists of three layers: User layer, Application layer and WebGIS service layer. User Layer supports users to access WebGIS services via different network environment; application layer represents WebGIS applications constructed by different organizations or companies, which integrate GIS services to solve some domain-oriented problems; WebGISservice layer is the core layer in the framework, which provides different GIS services. Professionals maintain WebGIS service layer unitedly. WebGIS services can dynamically modified and added, but WebGIS application needn't adjust. If there are no appropriate GIS services in WebGIS service layer, the WebGIS application constructors can order them from WebGIS service layer. WebGIS service layer is a multi-agent system, where WebGIS services are implemented as agents, which can match the use of different users/applications.
