Abstract:This paper presents a multi-layer framework that facilitates SMEs to establish e-service systems. The framework unifies service theories, service components, service platforms and e-service systems into a hierarchical architecture. It is abstracted from construction viewpoint, and tries to bridge the gap between technological advances and actual capacity of SMEs. The service components layer is comprised of reusable components. And the service platforms layer includes a series of diversified platforms that offer technical support to SMEs. The framework can help bring relevant technologies together, and preserve IT investments in the e-service systems' establishment. © 2009 Binary Information Press March, 2009.
