Abstract:In this paper, we develop a diamond graph theory and apply the theory to the (co)homology of the Lie algebra generated by positive systems of the classical semi-simple Lie algebras over the field of complex numbers. As an application, we give the weight decomposition of the diamond Lie algebra with Dynkin graph $A_{n+1}$ and compute the rank of every weight subgraph of it.

Abstract:The cohomology H * (Gamma, E) of an arithmetic subgroup F of a connected reductive algebraic group G defined over some algebraic number field F can be interpreted in terms of the automorphic spectrum of Gamma. With this framework in place, there is a sum decomposition of the cohomology into the cuspidal cohomology (i.e., classes represented by cuspidal automorphic forms for G) and the so-called Eisenstein cohomology constructed as the span of appropriate residues or derivatives of Eisenstein series attached to cuspidal automorphic forms on the Levi components of proper parabolic F-subgroups of G. The main objective of this paper is to isolate a specific structural part in the Eisenstein cohomology. This pertains to regular Eisenstein cohomology classes attached to cuspidal automorphic representations whose archimedean component is tempered. It is shown that the cohomological degree of these classes is bounded from below by the constant q(0)(G(R)) = ((1 /2)[dim X-G(R) - (rk(G(R)) - rk(K-R))], where KR denotes a maximal compact subgroup of the real Lie group G(R), where XG(R) is the associated symmetric space. This investigation has various applications. One of these is a vanishing result,for the cohomology in the generic case (i.e., where coefficient system E has regular highest weight) the representation determining the in degrees below q(0) (G (R)). This is a sharp bound depending only on the underlying real Lie group G (R) (Corollary 5.6, Proposition 5.8). This result is supplemented by a qualitative structural result in the description of the cohomology in higher degrees by means of regular Eisenstein cohomology classes.

Abstract:We describe a canonical decomposition of the cohomology of the Dani-Mainkar metabelian Lie algebras associated with graphs. As applications, we obtain explicit formulas for the third cohomology of any Dani-Mainkar Lie algebra and for the cohomology in all degrees of Lie algebras associated with arbitrary star graphs. We also describe a procedure to reduce the calculation of the cohomology of solvable Lie algebras associated with graphs through the Grantcharov-Grantcharov-Iliev construction to the cohomology of Dani-Mainkar Lie algebras.

Abstract:Quasi-Lie bialgebras are natural extensions of Lie-bialgebras, where the cobracket satisfies the co-Jacobi relation up to some natural obstruction controlled by a skew-symmetric 3-tensor $\phi$. This structure was introduced by Drinfeld while studying deformation theory of universal enveloping algebras and has since seen many other applications in algebra and geometry. In this paper we study the derivation complex of strongly homotopy quasi-Lie bialgebra, both in the unwheeled (i.e standard) and wheeled case, and compute its cohomology in terms of Kontsevich graph complexes.

The geometric realization of regular path complexes via (co-)homology

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to give the geometric realization of regular path complexes via (co)homology groups with coefficients in a ring R. Concretely, for each regular path complex P, we associate it with a singular Δ-complex S(P) and show that the (co)homology groups of P are isomorphic to those of S(P) with coefficients in R. As a direct result we recognize path (co)homology as Hochschild (co)homology in case that R is commutative and P regular finite. Analogues of the Eilenberg-Zilber theorem and Künneth formula are also showed for the Cartesian product and the join of two regular path complexes. In fact, we meanwhile improve some previous results which are covered by these conclusions in this paper.

Abstract:We construct a cohomology theory on a category of finite digraphs (directed graphs), which is based on the universal calculus on the algebra of functions on the vertices of the digraph. We develop necessary algebraic technique and apply it for investigation of functorial properties of this theory. We introduce categories of digraphs and (undirected) graphs, and using natural isomorphism between the introduced category of graphs and the full subcategory of symmetric digraphs we transfer our cohomology theory to the category of graphs. Then we prove homotopy invariance of the introduced cohomology theory for undirected graphs. Thus we answer the question of Babson, Barcelo, Longueville, and Laubenbacher about existence of homotopy invariant homology theory for graphs. We establish connections with cohomology of simplicial complexes that arise naturally for some special classes of digraphs. For example, the cohomologies of posets coincide with the cohomologies of a simplicial complex associated with the poset. However, in general the digraph cohomology theory can not be reduced to simplicial cohomology. We describe the behavior of digraph cohomology groups for several topological constructions on the digraph level and prove that any given finite sequence of non-negative integers can be realized as the sequence of ranks of digraph cohomology groups. We present also sufficiently many examples that illustrate the theory.

Abstract:This article studies the Lie algebra Der(k Gamma) of derivations on the path algebra k Gamma of a quiver Gamma and the Lie algebra on the first Hochschild cohomology group HH1(k Gamma). We relate these Lie algebras to the algebraic and combinatorial properties of the path algebra. Characterizations of derivations on a path algebra are obtained, leading to a canonical basis of Der(k Gamma) and its Lie algebra properties. Special derivations are associated to the vertices, arrows and faces of a quiver, and the concepts of a connected matrix and boundary matrix are introduced to study the relations among these derivations, concluding that the space of edge derivations is the direct sum of the spaces of the vertex derivations and the face derivations, while the dimensions of the latter spaces are the largest possible. By taking dimensions, this relation among spaces of derivations recovers Euler's polyhedron formula. This relation also leads a combinatorial construction of a canonical basis of the Lie algebra HH1(k Gamma), together with a semidirect sum decomposition of H1(k Gamma).
Unstable cohomology of $\mathsf{GL}_{2n}(\mathbb{Z})$ and the odd commutative graph complex

Abstract:We study a closed differential form on the symmetric space of positive definite matrices, which is defined using the Pfaffian and is $\mathsf{GL}_{2n}(\mathbb{Z})$ invariant up to a sign. It gives rise to an infinite family of unstable classes in the compactly-supported cohomology of the locally symmetric space for $\mathsf{GL}_{2n}(\mathbb{Z})$ with coefficients in the orientation bundle. Furthermore, by applying the Pfaffian forms to the dual Laplacian of graphs, and integrating them over the space of edge lengths, we construct an infinite family of cocycles for the odd commutative graph complex. By explicit computation, we show that the first such cocycle gives a non-trivial class in $H^{-6}(\mathsf{GC}_3)$.

On the graph products of simplicial groups and connected Hopf algebras

Abstract:In this paper we study the classifying spaces of graph products of simplicial groups and connected Hopf algebras over a field, and show that they can be uniformly treated under the framework of polyhedral products. It turns out that these graph products are models of the loop spaces of polyhedral products over a flag complex and their homology, respectively. Certain morphisms between graph products are also considered. In the end we prove the structure theorems of such graph products in the form we need.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. The purpose of this paper is to study cohomologies of differential [math]-Lie algebras with any weight and applications. First, we introduce representations of differential [math]-Lie algebras. Moreover, we develop cohomology theory of differential [math]-Lie algebras. We also depict the relationship between the cohomologies of a differential [math]-Lie algebra and its associated differential Leibniz algebra with weight zero. Finally, formal deformations, abelian extensions and skeletal differential [math]-Lie 2-algebras are characterized in terms of cohomology groups.

Abstract:Generalising a previous work of Jiang and Sheng, a cohomology theory for differential Lie algebras of arbitrary weight is introduced. The underlying $L_\infty[1]$-structure on the cochain complex is also determined via a generalised version of higher derived brackets. The equivalence between $L_\infty[1]$-structures for absolute and relative differential Lie algebras are established. Formal deformations and abelian extensions are interpreted by using lower degree cohomology groups. Also we introduce the homotopy differential Lie algebras. In a forthcoming paper, we will show that the operad of homotopy (relative) differential Lie algebras is the minimal model of the operad of (relative) differential Lie algebras.

Homology Homotopy and Applications

Abstract:To a digraph with a choice of certain integral basis, we construct a CW complex, whose integral singular cohomology is canonically isomorphic to the path cohomology of the digraph as introduced in \cite{GLMY}. The homotopy type of the CW complex turns out to be independent of the choice of basis. After a very brief discussion of functoriality, this construction immediately implies some of the expected but perhaps combinatorially subtle properties of the digraph cohomology and homotopy proved very recently \cite{GLMY2}. Furthermore, one gets a very simple expected formula for the cup product of forms on the digraph. On the other hand, we present an approach of using sheaf theory to reformulate (di)graph cohomologies. The investigation of the path cohomology from this framework, leads to a subtle version of Poincare lemma for digraphs, which follows from the construction of the CW complex.

Abstract:In this article we study higher homological properties of $n$-levelled algebras and connect them to properties of the underlying graphs. Notably, to each $2$-representation-finite quadratic monomial algebra $\Lambda$ we associate a bipartite graph $\overline{B_{\Lambda}}$ and we classify all such algebras $\Lambda$ for which $\overline{B_{\Lambda}}$ is regular or edge-transitive. We also show that if $\overline{B_{\Lambda}}$ is semi-regular, then it is a reflexive graph.

On the first relative Hochschild cohomology and contracted fundamental group

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the Lie algebra structure of the first relative Hochschild cohomology and its relation with the relative notion of fundamental group. Let $A,B$ be finite-dimensional basic $k$-algebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, such that $Q_B$ is a subquiver of $Q_A$. We show that if the complement of $Q_A$ by the arrows of $Q_B$ is a simple directed graph, then the first relative Hochschild cohomology $\text{HH}^1(A|B)$ is a solvable Lie algebra. We also compute the Lie algebra structure of the first relative Hochschild cohomology for radical square zero algebras and for dual extension algebras of directed monomial algebras. Finally, we introduce the notion of fundamental group for a pair of an algebra $A$ and a subalgebra $B$ and we construct the relative version of the map from the dual fundamental group into the first Hochschild cohomology.

Abstract:The cohomology of digraphs was introduced for the first time by Dimakis and Muller-Hoissen. Their algebraic definition is based on a differential calculus on an algebra of functions on the set of vertices with relations that follow naturally from the structure of the set of edges. A dual notion of homology of digraphs, based on the notion of path complex, was introduced by the authors, and the first methods for computing the (co) homology groups were developed. The interest in homology on digraphs is motivated by physical applications and relations between algebraic and geometrical properties of quivers. The digraph G(B) of the partially ordered set B-S of simplexes of a simplicial complex S has graph homology that is isomorphic to the simplicial homology of S. In this paper, we introduce the concept of cubical digraphs and describe their homology properties. In particular, we define a cubical subgraph G(S) of G(B), whose homologies are isomorphic to the simplicial homologies of S.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to study cohomological theory of n-Lie algebras with derivations. We define the representation of an n-LieDer pair and consider its cohomology. Likewise, we verify that a cohomology of an n-LieDer pair could be derived from the cohomology of associated LeibDer pair. Furthermore, we discuss the (n−1)-order deformations and the Nijenhuis operator of n-LieDer pairs. The central extensions of n-LieDer pairs are also investigated in terms of the first cohomology groups with coefficients in the trivial representation.

Abstract:Let $\Gamma$ be a connected graph without loops, cycles or multiple edges and $Z(\Gamma)$ the corresponding zigzag algebra. Then every Jordan derivation of $Z(\Gamma)$ is a derivation. Moreover, we will prove that the dimension of 1th Hochschild cohomology group of $Z(\Gamma)$ is one by computing the dimensions of linear spaces spanned by derivations and inner derivations. This implies that the dimension of the 1th Hochschild cohomology group of each algebra derived equivalent to a zigzag algebra is 1.

Abstract:We prove that the structure algebra of a Bruhat moment graph of a finite real root system is a Hopf algebroid with respect to the Hecke and the Weyl actions. We introduce new techniques (reconstruction and push-forward formula of a product, twisted coproduct, double quotients of bimodules) and apply them together with our main result to linear algebraic groups, to generalized Schubert calculus, to combinatorics of Coxeter groups and finite real root systems. As for groups, it implies that the natural Hopf-algebra structure on the algebraic oriented cohomology $h(G)$ of Levine-Morel of a split semi-simple linear algebraic group $G$ can be lifted to a `bi-Hopf' structure on the $T$-equivariant algebraic oriented cohomology of the complete flag variety. As for the Schubert calculus, we prove several new identities involving (double) generalized equivariant Schubert classes. As for finite real root systems, we compute the Hopf-algebra structure of `virtual cohomology' of dihedral groups $I_2(p)$, where $p$ is an odd prime.

Abstract:We describe a bigraded cocommutative Hopf algebra structure on the weight zero compactly supported rational cohomology of the moduli space of principally polarized abelian varieties. By relating the primitives for the coproduct to graph cohomology, we deduce that $\dim H^{2g+k}_c(\mathcal{A}_g)$ grows at least exponentially with $g$ for $k = 0$ and for all but finitely many positive integers $k$. Our proof relies on a new result of independent interest; we use a filtered variant of the Waldhausen construction to show that Quillen's spectral sequence abutting to the cohomology of $BK(\mathbb{Z})$ is a spectral sequence of Hopf algebras. From the same construction, we also deduce that $\dim H^{\binom{n}{2} - n - k}(\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{Z}))$ grows at least exponentially with $n$, for $k = -1$ and for all but finitely many non-negative integers $k$.
