Abstract:In this paper, we consider general metric spaces and length spaces whose metrics may be nonreversible, and give Gromov pre-compactness theorems for such spaces with finite reversibility with respect to a generalized Gromov–Hausdorff distance. Abstract:In this work, a new concept of upper dense sequence in interval (0,1] is introduced. There are infinitely many upper dense sequences in interval (0,1]. Using any upper dense sequence, a new decomposition theorem for fuzzy sets is established and proved. Then, using a chosen upper dense sequence as one of the necessary reference systems, infinitely many total orderings on the set of all fuzzy numbers can be well defined. Among them, a common upper dense sequence based on the binary numbers is suggested as a natural default option. Another upper dense sequence based on the rational numbers is also suggested. Regarding real numbers as special fuzzy numbers, all of these total orderings defined by using the suggested upper dense sequences are consistent with the natural ordering of real numbers. Building total ordering on the set of all fuzzy numbers in such a way is significant for fuzzy data analysis and, therefore, may be used in decision making with fuzzy information.

Abstract:The concepts of a fuzzy connected set (fc set) and a fuzzy consistently connected set (fcc set) are introduced on fuzzy posets, along with a discussion of their basic properties. Inspired by some equivalent conditions of crisp connected sets, the characterizations of the fc sets are given, and we also explore fuzzy completeness and fuzzy compactness in addition to defining a new fuzzy way-below relation based on fcc complete sets. Using this relationship as a basis, the fcc domain is also provided and studied, and its equivalent characterizations are obtained. In summary, we develop a method to establish fcc completeness from a continuous poset.

Abstract:In this paper, we give some properties of fuzzy Riesz homomorphism on fuzzy Riesz space. We give definitions of fuzzy quotient spaces, and some characterizations of fuzzy Archimedean quotient spaces. We prove the properties which fuzzy Riesz homomorphism is fuzzy order continuous, and study the extension of fuzzy lattice homomorphism and the extension of fuzzy order continuous lattice homomorphism. Finally, we investigate the factorization by fuzzy Riesz homomorphisms.

Abstract:Soft set theory serves as a mathematical framework for handling uncertain information, and hesitant fuzzy sets find extensive application in scenarios involving uncertainty and hesitation. Hesitant fuzzy sets exhibit diverse membership degrees, giving rise to various forms of inclusion relationships among them. This article introduces the notions of hesitant fuzzy soft $\beta$-coverings and hesitant fuzzy soft $\beta$-neighborhoods, which are formulated based on distinct forms of inclusion relationships among hesitancy fuzzy sets. Subsequently, several associated properties are investigated. Additionally, specific variations of hesitant fuzzy soft $\beta$-coverings are introduced by incorporating hesitant fuzzy rough sets, followed by an exploration of properties pertaining to hesitant fuzzy soft $\beta$-covering approximation spaces.

Abstract:We generalize the notion of complete binary relation on complete lattice to residuated lattice valued ordered sets and show its properties. Then we focus on complete fuzzy tolerances on fuzzy complete lattices and prove they are in one-to-one correspondence with extensive isotone Galois connections. Finally, we prove that fuzzy complete lattice, factorized by a complete fuzzy tolerance, is again a fuzzy complete lattice.

Abstract:A fuzzy compactum in a space X is an upper semi-continuous map <math>f:A→[0,1]</math> from a nonempty compact subspace <math>A⊂X</math> to the unit closed interval <math>[0,1]</math> such that <math>{x∈A:f(x)>0}</math> is dense in A. In this paper, we investigate the topological structure of the space <math>Ke(X)</math> of fuzzy compacta of a separable metric space X with the Hausdorff metric. In particular, we prove that <math>Ke(X)≈ℓ2</math> if X is an infinite, locally compact, locally connected, connected and separable metric space.

Abstract:In this paper, we present characterizations of totally bounded sets, relatively compact sets and compact sets in the fuzzy sets spaces $F_B(\mathbb{R}^m)$ and $F_B(\mathbb{R}^m)^p$ equipped with $L_p$ metric, where $F_B(\mathbb{R}^m)$ and $F_B(\mathbb{R}^m)^p$ are two kinds of general fuzzy sets on $\mathbb{R}^m$ which do not have any assumptions of convexity or star-shapedness. Subsets of $F_B(\mathbb{R}^m)^p$ include common fuzzy sets such as fuzzy numbers, fuzzy star-shaped numbers with respect to the origin, fuzzy star-shaped numbers, and the general fuzzy star-shaped numbers introduced by Qiu et al. The existed compactness criteria are stated for three kinds of fuzzy sets spaces endowed with $L_p$ metric whose universe sets are the former three kinds of common fuzzy sets respectively. Constructing completions of fuzzy sets spaces with respect to $L_p$ metric is a problem which is closely dependent on characterizing totally bounded sets. Based on preceding characterizations of totally boundedness and relatively compactness and some discussions on convexity and star-shapedness of fuzzy sets, we show that the completions of fuzzy sets spaces mentioned in this paper can be obtained by using the $L_p$-extension. We also clarify relation among all the ten fuzzy sets spaces discussed in this paper, which consist of five pairs of original spaces and the corresponding completions. Then, we show that the subspaces of $F_B(\mathbb{R}^m)$ and $F_B(\mathbb{R}^m)^p$ mentioned in this paper have parallel characterizations of totally bounded sets, relatively compact sets and compact sets. At last, as applications of our results, we discuss properties of $L_p$ metric on fuzzy sets space and relook compactness criteria proposed in previous work.

Abstract:A Peano compactum is a compact metric space having locally connected components such that at most finitely many of them are of diameter greater than any fixed number C>0. Given a compactum K in the extended complex plane, it is known that there is a finest upper semi-continuous decomposition of K into subcontinua such that the resulting quotient space is a Peano compactum. We call this decomposition the core decomposition of K with Peano quotient and its elements atoms of K. We show that for any branched covering f of the extended complex plane onto itself and for any atom d of K, the preimage of d under f has finitely many components each of which is an atom of the preimage of K under f. Since rational functions are branched coverings, our result extends earlier ones that are restricted to more limited cases, requiring that f be a polynomial and K completely invariant under f.
