"Across-unit Organization" and Social Reorganization:An Interpretation on Unit Society

Abstract:The paper regards the Cross-danwei organizations as an object of study.Although the Danwei is the basic unit of city in China,the relations among Danwei organizations are very critical to social structure.So we must pay close attention to Danwei system through the horizontal analysis and Cross-danwei organization through wertical analysis,We can draw a conclusion that Danwei system and Cross-danwei organization are the most important concepts to the interpretation of the social structure in contemporary China.The social connection mechanism consisted of the Cross-danwei organizations resists a hidden social disintegration generated from Danwei organizations.The two hypotheses of the paper are as follows:(1) if the resources gained from outside thc social organization are more important than that acquired from inside,the possibility to break through the organization boundary of social interaction will be strengthened;(2) if the function of invisible hand cannot work smoothly or is eliminated in a society,the requirement for the political organizations and social interaction network will be increased.The conclusion of the paper is that social connection mechanism consisted of Cross-danwei organizations will be increasingly important during the transitional period of China.
