Abstract:We propose a theory of contact invariants and open string invariants, assuming that the almost complex J is either non-degenerate or of Bott-type. We do not choose the complex structure J̃ such that L_XJ̃=0 on periodic orbits.

Abstract:We extend our family rigidity and vanishing theorems in [LiuMaZ] to the Spin c case.In particular, we prove a ^-theory version of the main results of [H], [Liul, Theorem B] for a family of almost complex manifolds.0. Introduction.Let M, B be two compact smooth manifolds, and TT : M -» B be a smooth fibration with compact fibre X.Let TX be the relative tangent bundle.Assume that a compact Lie group G acts fiberwise on M, that is, the action preserves each fiber of TT.Let P be a family of G-equivariant elliptic operators along the fiber X.Then the family index of P, Ind(P), is a well-defined element in K(B) (cf.[AS]) and is a virtual G-representation (cf.[LiuMal]).We denote by (Ind(P)) G £ K(B) the G-invariant part of Ind(P).A family of elliptic operator P is said to be rigid on the equivariant Chern character level with respect to this G-action, if the equivariant Chern character ch 5 (Ind(P)) G H*(B) is independent of g G G. The contact cut graph and a Weinstein $\mathcal{L}$-invariant

Abstract:We define and study the contact cut graph which is an analogue of Hatcher and Thurston's cut graph for contact geometry, inspired by contact Heegaard splittings. We show how oriented paths in the contact cut graph correspond to Lefschetz fibrations and multisection with divides diagrams. We also give a correspondence for achiral Lefschetz fibrations. We use these correspondences to define a new invariant of Weinstein domains, the Weinstein $\mathcal{L}$-invariant, that is a symplectic analogue of the Kirby-Thompson's $\mathcal{L}$-invariant of smooth $4$-manifolds. We discuss the relation of Lefschetz stabilization with the Weinstein $\mathcal{L}$-invariant. We present topological and geometric constraints of Weinstein domains with $\mathcal{L}=0$. We also give two families of examples of multisections with divides that have arbitrarily large $\mathcal{L}$-invariant.

Open String Invariants and Mirror Curve of the Resolved Conifold

Abstract:For the resolved conifold with one outer D-brane in arbitrary framing, we present some results for the open string partition functions obtained by some operator manipulations. We prove some conjectures by Aganagic-Vafa and Aganagic-Klemm-Vafa that relates such invariants to the mirror curve of the resolved conifold. This establishes local mirror symmetry for the resolved confolds for holomorphic disc invariants. We also verify an integrality conjecture of such invariants by Ooguri-Vafa in this case and present closed formulas for some Ooguri-Vafa type invariants in genus 0 and arbitrary genera.

Abstract:We study invariants defined by count of charged, elliptic $J$-holomorphic curves in locally conformally symplectic manifolds. We use this to define $\mathbb{Q} $-valued deformation invariants of certain complete Riemann-Finlser manifolds and their isometries and this is used to find some new phenomena in Riemann-Finlser geometry. In contact geometry this Gromov-Witten theory is used to study fixed Reeb strings of strict contactomorphisms. Along the way, we state an analogue of the Weinstein conjecture in lcs geometry, directly extending the Weinstein conjecture, and discuss various partial verifications. A counterexample for a stronger, also natural form of this conjecture is given.

Abstract:We introduce the complex Liouville string, a solvable string theory defined by coupling two Liouville theories with complex conjugate central charges $c \in 13+i \mathbb{R}$ on the worldsheet. We compute its amplitudes from first principles and establish a duality with a double-scaled two-matrix integral. We also analyze general worldsheet boundaries and non-perturbative effects in the genus expansion. This theory is capable of capturing aspects of de Sitter quantum gravity in both two and three dimensions, which leads to a precise version of de Sitter holography.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove Shelukhin's conjecture on the translated points on \emph{any closed} contact manifold $(Q,\xi)$ which reads that for any choice of function $H = H(t,x)$ and contact form $\lambda$ the contactomorphism $\psi_H^1$ carries a translated point in the sense of Sandon, whenever the inequality $$ \|H\| \leq T(\lambda,M) $$ holds the case. Main geometro-analytical tools are those of bordered contact instantons employed in \cite{oh:entanglement1} with Legendrian boundary condition via the Legendrianization of contact diffeomorphisms. In addition, the usage of the $\mathbb Z_2$-symmetry of anti-contact involution plays an important role to overcome \emph{non-tameness} of the contact product $M_Q: = Q \times Q \times \mathbb R$ in the proof of the main theorem of the present paper. Along the way, we utilize the functorial construction of the \emph{contact product} that carries an involutive symmetry and develop relevant contact Hamiltonian geometry with involutive symmetry. This involutive symmetry plays a fundamental role in our proof in combination with the analysis of contact instantons.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the notions of an iterated planar Lefschetz fibration and an iterated planar open book decomposition and prove the Weinstein conjecture for contact manifolds supporting an open book that has iterated planar pages. For $n\geq 1$, we show that a $(2n+1)$-dimensional contact manifold $M$ supporting an iterated planar open book decomposition satisfies the Weinstein conjecture.
The complex Liouville string: the matrix integral

Abstract:We propose a duality between the complex Liouville string and a two-matrix integral. The complex Liouville string is defined by coupling two Liouville theories with complex central charges $c = 13 \pm i \lambda$ on the worldsheet. The matrix integral is characterized by its spectral curve which allows us to compute the perturbative string amplitudes recursively via topological recursion. This duality constitutes a controllable instance of holographic duality. The leverage on the theory is provided by the rich analytic structure of the string amplitudes that we discussed in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2409.18759" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2409.18759">arXiv:2409.18759</a> and allows us to perform numerous tests on the duality.

Abstract:Based on large N Chern-Simons/topological string duality, in a series of papers, J.M.F. Labastida, M. Marino, H. Ooguri and C. Vafa conjectured certain remarkable new algebraic structure of link invariants and the existence of infinite series of new integer invariants. In this paper, we provide a proof of this conjecture. Moreover, we also show these new integer invariants vanish at large genera.

Abstract:We show that the one loop amplitudes of open and closed string theory in a constant background two-form tensor field are characterized by an effective string tension larger than the fundamental string tension, and by the appearance of antisymmetric and symmetric noncommutativity parameters. We derive the form of the phase functions normalizing planar and nonplanar tachyon scattering amplitudes in this background, verifying the decoupling of the closed string sector in the regime of infinite momentum transfer. We show that the functional dependence of the phase functions on the antisymmetric star product of external momenta permits interpretation as a finite wavefunction renormalization of vertex operators in the open string sector. Using world-sheet duality we clarify the regimes of finite and zero momentum transfer between boundaries, demonstrating the existence of poles in the nonplanar amplitude when the momentum transfer equals the mass of an on-shell closed string state. Neither noncommutativity parameter has any impact on the renormalizability of open and closed string theory in the Wilsonian sense. We comment on the relationship to noncommutative scalar field theory and the UV-IR correspondence.

Abstract:We propose the study of some kind of monopole equations directly associated with a contact structure. Through a rudimentary analysis about the solutions, we show that a closed contact 3-manifold with positive Tanaka-Webster curvature and vanishing torsion must be either not symplectically semifillable or having torsion Euler class of the contact structure.

Abstract:We present a topological interpretation of knot and braid contact homology in degree zero, in terms of cords and skein relations. This interpretation allows us to extend the knot invariant to embedded graphs and higher-dimensional knots. We calculate the knot invariant for two-bridge knots and relate it to double branched covers for general knots. In the appendix we show that the cord ring is determined by the fundamental group and peripheral structure of a knot and give applications.

Abstract:We give a non-perturbative completion of a class of closed topological string theories in terms of building blocks of dual open strings. In the specific case where the open string is given by a matrix model these blocks correspond to a choice of integration contour. We then apply this definition to the AGT setup where the dual matrix model has logarithmic potential and is conjecturally equivalent to Liouville conformal field theory. By studying the natural contours of these matrix integrals and their monodromy properties, we propose a precise map between topological string blocks and Liouville conformal blocks. Remarkably, this description makes use of the light-cone diagrams of closed string field theory, where the critical points of the matrix potential correspond to string interaction points.

Liouville-Arnold theorem for contact Hamiltonian systems

Abstract:A Hamiltonian system is completely integrable (in the sense of Liouville) if there exist as many independent integrals of motion in involution as the dimension of the configuration space. Under certain regularity conditions, Liouville-Arnold theorem states that the invariant geometric structure associated with Liouville integrability is a fibration by Lagrangian tori (or, more generally, Abelian groups), on which the motion is linear. In this paper, a Liouville-Arnold theorem for contact Hamiltonian systems is proven. In particular, it is shown that, given a $(2n+1)$-dimensional completely integrable contact system, one can construct a foliation by $(n+1)$-dimensional Abelian groups and induce action-angle coordinates in which the equations of motion are linearized. One important novelty with respect to previous attempts is that the foliation consists of $(n+1)$-dimensional coisotropic submanifolds given by the preimages of rays by the functions in involution. In order to prove the theorem, we first develop a version of Liouville-Arnold theorem for homogeneous functions in exact symplectic manifolds (which is of independent interest), and then apply symplectization to obtain the contact case.
