Abstract:This note is concerned with the absolute stability analysis for time-delay Lurie control systems with nonlinearity located in an infinite sector and finite one. By using a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional that splits the whole delay interval into two subintervals and defines a different energy function on each subinterval and introducing some free-weighting matrices, some new delay-dependent robustly absolute stability criteria are presented in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The obtained delay-dependent criteria are less conservative than previous ones, as are illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:This note concerns the robust absolute stability analysis for a class of general neutral type Lurie indirect control systems with nonlinearity located in an infinite sector or finite one. By using Lyapunov functional of quadratic form with integral term and introducing some free-weighting matrices, some delay-dependent robust absolute stability criteria are presented in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities. Neither model transformation nor bounding technique is required here. The obtained criteria are less conservative than previous ones, which are illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:In this paper, the new absolute stability and stabilization conditions for a class of Lurie uncertain time-delay systems are proposed. Based on Lyapunov functions combined with linear matrix inequality (LMI) technology, the sufficient delay dependent absolute stability and stabilization conditions are derived for a class of Lurie uncertain time-delay systems with time-delay feedback either in states or nonlinear part through introducing a new state transformation. Finally, the absolute stability and stabilization conditions are illustrated by the detailed examples, and the result shows that there has been a distinct amelioration in conservation.

Abstract:The synthesis problem of reliable robust control for a class of dynamic systems is considered.A practical and general faults model with sensor,actuator is addressed.A necessary and sufficient condition of D-stability is presented,based on which a sufficient condition of existence of the reliable H_∞controller is given for the case of sensor,actuator failures.The reliable H_∞controller is designed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs),which guarantees the closed-loop to be D-stable and possesses H_∞performance when all control components are operational as well as some control components experience failures.Finally,a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedures and the effectiveness.

Abstract:The problem of the delay-dependant robust stability and stabilization is dealt with for a class of Lur'e singular system with state time-delays in this paper. The new concept of generalized robust quadratic stability and generalized robust quadratic stabilization is presented. Furthermore. the sufficient condition of the robust stability and stabilization is also proposed based on linear matrix inequalities. The synthesis problem addressed is to design a memory-less state feedback control law such that the resulting closed-loop system is regular, impulse free and asymptotically stable for all admissible uncertainties.

Study on fault-tolerant H∞ control for Lur'e systems

Abstract:A fault model of sensor and actuator was proposed for a class of uncertain Lur'e systems by using polytrophic uncertainties to describe the control surface impairment faults. Based on this model, a sufficient condition about reliable H∞ control was presented for the cases of sensor, actuator and control surface failures in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). An explicit expression of the desired controller was developed based on the solution of the LMIs. Theoretical analysis shows that the designed controller guarantees the closed-loop asymptotic stability and H∞ performance when all control components are operational as well as when some control components experience failures. A numerical example was given to theoretically illustrate the design procedures and their effectiveness.

Abstract:The problem of robust stability analysis for uncertain discrete singular time-delay systems is investigated in this paper. By decomposing the nominal system into slow and fast subsystems, a linear matrix inequality (LMI) condition is proposed for a discrete singular time-delay system to be regular, causal and stable. Based on this, an LMI criterion is obtained for robust stability of an uncertain discrete singular time-delay system. Two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach.

Abstract:The problem of guaranteed cost control for a class of linear discrete uncertain system is considered in this paper. The system under consideration contains convex polyhedral uncertain parameters. An upper bound of performance measured by standard quadratic function is constructed and a method of designing state feedback robust stabilizing control law guaranteeing this quadratic performance index of system be less than this upper bound is derived. It is proved that whether such a control law exists is equivalent to the feasibility of a group of linear matrix inequality Also, a procedure is given to select an optimal state feedback controller in the sense of minimizing the upper bound of quadratic performance index.

Abstract:In this paper, the problem of absolute stability analysis for Lurie systems with two additive time-varying delays is considered. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional and using combined convex technique, new delay-dependent absolute stability criteria are derived to guarantee the absolute stability of the Lurie systems with non-linearity located in an infinite sector and a finite one. The obtained criteria are expressed as a set of linear matrix inequalities, which can be readily tested by using standard numerical software. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed stability criteria.

Abstract:This paper deals with the absolute stability analysis for Lur'e system with interval time-delay and norm bounded parameter uncertainties. By constructing the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, which is utilized the full lower and upper bound information of time-delay, some new delay-dependent robust stability criteria are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) with convex combination technique. The resulting criterion has advantages over some previous ones in that it involves less decision variables than free weighting matrix method and doesn't introduce the additional dynamics which leads to conservative results. The numerical examples of maximum allowable delay bound problem illustrate that the obtained absolute stability criteria are less conservative than previous ones.

Abstract:This paper studies the problem of whether a large-scale Lurie system can achieve absolute stability through effective interconnections or harmonious control between subsystems.Sufficient conditions for the absolute stability of interconnected Lurie control systems are obtained,and the algorithms for calculating the interconnection matrix and parameterizing the harmonious controllers are proposed by using the methods of bilinear matrix inequalities(BMIs).It is shown that two unstable Lurie control systems can be combined into an absolutely stable large-scale system via effective interconnections.The irrational restrictions on interconnections in traditional stability analysis of large-scale systems are eliminated.Finally,examples are given to illustrate the results presented.

Abstract:Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and by means of the matrix inequality technique and the nonlinear dealing method, Lurie uncertain systems with multiple time-varying delays are investigated. Two new sufficient conditions of absolute stability described by linear matrix inequalities are acquired and they are characterized by norm bounded uncertainties and time-varying delays. Calculation examples reveal that the proposed method is less conservative and more effective than the existing ones in the literature.

Abstract:In this article, we study the absolute stabilization of switched Lurie system via dynamic output feedback, where the nonlinearity is unknown and is restricted in a sector. In most works, the nonlinearity is assumed to be known exactly or is restricted in a bounded sector. Here, we consider the most general case with unbounded sector. With the help of switched time‐varying Lyapunov–Lurie function, a dynamic output feedback controller with time‐varying control gain is presented. On this basis, sufficient conditions for absolute stabilization are derived in the framework of mode‐dependent minimum dwell time and mode‐dependent range dwell time. It turns out that this time‐varying control strategy can solve the absolute stabilization of switched Lurie systems that all subsystems are not stabilizable. Moreover, the stability criteria in terms of linear matrix inequality we derived can be easily checked via Matlab toolbox. Finally, the effectiveness of presented methods is verified by several numerical examples.

Abstract:A method is proposed for synthesizing output feedback controllers for nonlinear Lur' e systems. The problem of designing an output dynamic controller for uncertain-free systems and systems subject to multiplicative norm-bounded perturbations in the linear part were proposed respectively. The procedure is based on the use of the absolute stability, through the circle criterion, and a linear matrix inequalities (LMI) formulation. The controller existence conditions are given in terms of existence of suitable solutions to a set of parameter-dependent LMIs.

Abstract:The problem of robust stability for LQ guaranteed cost control ofstructured and unstructured uncertain linear systems is considered. First of all, some definitions about the problem are proposed. Then, robustness bounds for LQ guaranteed cost control systems with unstructured and a kind of structured uncertainties are derived. Furthermore, for structured uncertain systems, an algorithm to optimize the robustness bounds by choosing appropriate parameters as well as the relevant design technique are presented in the paper. Additional, a robustness analysis procedure of LQ guaranteed cost control systems for structured uncertainties is established. An example is given to illustrate the proposed methods.
