Abstract: We give a formula of the framed one-leg orbifold Gromov-Witten vertex where the leg is gerby with isotropy group $\bZ_m$. Then we use this formula to compute the Gromov-Witten invariants of the local $\cB\bZ_m$ gerbe. We will also compute some examples of the degree 1 and degree 2 $\bZ_2$-Hodge integrals.

Abstract:Elliptic genus was derived as the partition function in quantum field theory [26]. Mathematically it is the beautiful combination of topology of manifolds, index theory and modular forms (cf. [15], [10]). Elliptic genus for smooth manifolds has been well-studied. Recently, Borisov and Libgober ([3], [4]) proposed some definitions of elliptic genus for certain singular spaces, especially for complex orbifolds which is a global quotient M/G, here the finite group G acts holomorphically on complex variety M . Similar definitions have been introduced by string theorists in the 80s, in the study of orbifold string theory. One of their guiding principles is the modular invariance. More recently orbifold string theory has attracted the attention of geometers and topologists. For example Chen and Ruan (cf. [7], [22]) have defined orbifold cohomology and orbifold quantum cohomology groups. One of most important properties for elliptic genus is its rigidity property under compact Lie group action. For smooth manifolds, the rigidity and its generalizations have been well studied. Since orbifold elliptic genus is the partition function of orbifold string theory, it is natural to expect the rigidity property for orbifold elliptic genus. Although the global quotients from a very important class of orbifolds, many interesting orbifolds are not global quotients. For example, most of the Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces of weighted projective spaces are not global quotients. In this paper we define elliptic genus for general orbifolds which generalizes the definition of Borisov and Libgober, and prove their rigidity property. We actually introduce the more general elliptic genus involving twisted bundles and proved its rigidity. The idea of considering the weights in the definition of orbifold elliptic genus comes from [4] and our proof of the K-theory version of Witten rigidity theorems [21, §4]. The proof of the rigidity is again a combination of modular invariance and the index theory. Only more complicated combinatorics are involved in the definition and the proof. This paper is organized as follows: In Sections 1 and 2 we review the equivariant index theorem on orbifolds. We define orbifold elliptic genus and prove its rigidity for almost complex orbifolds in Section 3. Finally in Section 4 we introduce orbifold elliptic genus for spin orbifolds, and will study its rigidity property on a later occasion. Abstract:In this paper, we study the all genus Gromov-Witten theory for any GKM orbifold $X$. We generalize the Givental formula which is studied in the smooth case in \cite{Giv2} \cite{Giv3} \cite{Giv4} to the orbifold case. Specifically, we recover the higher genus Gromov-Witten invariants of a GKM orbifold $X$ by its genus zero data. When $X$ is toric, the genus zero Gromov-Witten invariants of $X$ can be explicitly computed by the mirror theorem studied in \cite{CCIT} and our main theorem gives a closed formula for the all genus Gromov-Witten invariants of $X$. When $X$ is a toric Calabi-Yau 3-orbifold, our formula leads to a proof of the Remodeling Conjecture in \cite{Fang-Liu-Zong3}.

Abstract:We construct a global B-model for any quasi-homogeneous polynomial f that has properties similar to the properties of the physic's B-model on a Calabi-Yau manifold. The main ingredients in our construction are K. Saito's theory of primitive forms and Givental's higher genus reconstruction. More precisely, we consider the moduli space M-mar degrees of the so-called marginal deformations of f . For each point sigma is an element of M-mam degrees mar we introduce the notion of an opposite subspace in the twisted de Rham cohomology of the corresponding singularity f(sigma) and prove that opposite subspaces are in one-to-one correspondence with the splittings of the Hodge structure in the vanishing cohomology of f(sigma). Therefore, according to M. Saito, an opposite subspace gives rise to a semi-simple Frobenius structure on the space of miniversal deformations of f(sigma). Using Givental's higher genus reconstruction we define a total ancestor potential A(sigma) ((h) over bar, q) whose properties can be described quite elegantly in terms of the properties of the corresponding opposite subspace. For example, if the opposite subspace corresponds to the splitting of the Hodge structure given by complex conjugation, then the total ancestor potential is monodromy invariant and it satisfies the BCOV holomorphic anomaly equations. The coefficients of the total ancestor potential could be viewed as quasi-modular forms on M-Mar degrees in a certain generalized sense. As an application of our construction, we consider the case of a Fermat polynomial W that defines a Calabi-Yau hypersurface X-w in a weighted-projective space. We have constructed two opposite subspaces and proved that the corresponding total ancestor potentials can be identified with respectively the total ancestor potential of the orbifold quotient X-W/(G) over tilde (W) and the total ancestor potential of FJRW invariants corresponding to (W, G(W)). Here G(W) is the maximal group of diagonal symmetries of W and (G) over tilde (W) is a quotient of G(W) by the subgroup of those elements that act trivially on X-W. In particular, our result establishes the so-called Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the pair (W, G(W)).

Degree zero Gromov--Witten invariants for smooth curves

Abstract:For a smooth projective curve, we derive a closed formula for the generating series of its Gromov--Witten invariants in genus $g$ and degree zero. It is known that the calculation of these invariants can be reduced to that of the $\lambda_g$ and $\lambda_{g-1}$ integrals on the moduli space of stable algebraic curves. The closed formula for the $\lambda_g$ integrals is given by the $\lambda_g$ conjecture, proved by Faber and Pandharipande. We compute in this paper the $\lambda_{g-1}$ integrals via solving the degree zero limit of the loop equation associated to the complex projective line.

Abstract:We study a family of moduli spaces and corresponding quantum invariants introduced recently by Fan-Jarvis-Ruan. The family has a wall-and-chamber structure relative to a positive rational parameter is an element of. For a Fermat quasi-homogeneous polynomial W (not necessarily of Calabi-Yau type), we study natural generating functions packaging the invariants. Our wall-crossing formula relates the generating functions by showing that they all lie on the Lagrangian cone associated to the Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten theory of W. For arbitrarily small parameter is an element of, a specialization of our generating function is a hypergeometric series called the big I-function which determines the entire Lagrangian cone. As a special case of our wall-crossing, we obtain a new geometric interpretation of the Landau-Ginzburg mirror theorem.
A Degeneration Formula of Gromov-Witten Invariants with Respect to a Curve Class for Degenerations from Blow-Ups

Abstract:In two very detailed, technical, and fundamental works, Jun Li constructed a theory of Gromov-Witten invariants for a singular scheme of the gluing form $Y_1\cup_D Y_2$ that arises from a degeneration $W/{\Bbb A}^1$ and a theory of relative Gromov-Witten invariants for a codimension-1 relative pair $(Y,D)$. As a summit, he derived a degeneration formula that relates a finite summation of the usual Gromov-Witten invariants of a general smooth fiber $W_t$ of $W/{\Bbb A}^1$ to the Gromov-Witten invariants of the singular fiber $W_0=Y_1\cup_D Y_2$ via gluing the relative pairs $(Y_1,D)$ and $(Y_2,D)$. The finite sum mentioned above depends on a relative ample line bundle $H$ on $W/{\Bbb A}^1$. His theory has already applications to string theory and mathematics alike. For other new applications of Jun Li's theory, one needs a refined degeneration formula that depends on a curve class $\beta$ in $A_{\ast}(W_t)$ or $H_2(W_t;{\Bbb Z})$, rather than on the line bundle $H$. Some monodromy effect has to be taken care of to deal with this. For the simple but useful case of a degeneration $W/{\Bbb A}^1$ that arises from blowing up a trivial family $X\times{\Bbb A}^1$, we explain how the details of Jun Li's work can be employed to reach such a desired degeneration formula. The related set $\Omega_{(g,k;\beta)}$ of admissible triples adapted to $(g,k;\beta)$ that appears in the formula can be obtained via an analysis on the intersection numbers of relevant cycles and a study of Mori cones that appear in the problem. This set is intrinsically determined by $(g,k;\beta)$ and the normal bundle ${\cal N}_{Z/X}$ of the smooth subscheme $Z$ in $X$ to be blown up.

The two geometric structures studied here are {\em gerbes} and {\em root constructions}. In both cases, we explain conjectures on Gromov-Witten theory for these stacks and survey some recent progress on these conjectures.

Abstract:Given a smooth projective variety $X$ and a smooth nef divisor $D$, we identify genus zero relative Gromov--Witten invariants of $(X,D)$ with $(n+1)$ relative markings with genus zero relative/orbifold Gromov--Witten invariants of a $\mathbb P^1$-bundle $P:=\mathbb P(\mathcal O_X(-D)\oplus \mathcal O_X)$ with $n$ relative markings. This is a generalization of the local-relative correspondence beyond maximal contacts. Repeating this process, we identify genus zero relative Gromov--Witten invariants with genus zero absolute Gromov--Witten invariants of toric bundles. We also present how this correspondence can be used to compute genus zero two-point relative Gromov--Witten invariants.

Abstract:We prove a closed formula for leading Gopakumar–Vafa BPS invariants of local Calabi–Yau geometries given by the canonical line bundles of toric Fano surfaces. It shares some similar features with Göttsche–Yau–Zaslow formula: Connection with Hilbert schemes, connection with quasimodular forms, and quadratic property after suitable transformation. Abstract: In this paper we prove that the GW invariants of the elliptic orbifold lines with weights (3,3,3), (4,4,2), and (6,3,2) are quasi-modular forms. Our method is based on Givental's higher genus reconstruction formalism applied to the settings of Saito's Frobenius structures for simple elliptic singularities. Our results are part of a larger project whose goal is to prove the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for simple elliptic singularities. The correspondence describes a relation between Gromov-Witten theory (of a certain hypersurface) and Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten theory (of a certain Landau-Ginzburg potential). Roughly, the main statement is that the Saito's Frobenius manifold for simple elliptic singularities has some special points such that locally near these points the Frobenius structure governs one of the two theories. The local part of the correspondence is established in a companion article by M. Krawitz and Y. Shen, while here we describe the global picture.
