Abstract:We investigate a uniqueness topic of entire functions with finite order sharing some values with their difference operators and obtain one result that if Δf (≢ 0) and entire function f share a, b CM (counting multiplicities), then Δf ≡ f. This result partially confirms a conjecture due to Chen and Yi (2013).

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the difference counterpart of Briicke's conjecture. We obtain that for entire function f of finite order who has a small Borel exceptional entire function a, if P is a polynomial such that P(Delta(n)(eta)f) and P(f) share a small function d CM, then f(z) = a(z) + se(tz), where s, t are nonzero constants. And we get that Delta(n)(eta) f equivalent to f and only if (e(eta t) - 1)(n) = 1.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the following result: Let f(z) be a transcendental entire function, Q(z) ≢ 0 be a small function of f(z), and n ≥ 2 be a positive integer. If f n (z) and (f n (z))′ share Q(z) CM, then $f(z) = ce^{\tfrac{1}{n}z}$, where c is a nonzero constant. This result extends Lv’s result from the case of polynomial to small entire function.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate uniqueness of entire functions of order less than 2 sharing the value 0 with their difference operators and obtain a result as follows:Let f be a transcendental entire function such that sigma(f) < 2 and lambda(f) < sigma(f). If f and Delta(n)f share the value 0 CM, then f must be form of f(z) = Ae(alpha z), where A and alpha are two nonzero constants. This result confirms a conjecture posed earlier on the topic.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the uniqueness of entire functions that share the value with their derivatives and difference operator simultaneously. Suppose f(z) is a nonconstant entire function of finite order, k is a positive integer, a and c are two nonzero finite constants. If f(z), f((k))(z) and Delta(c)f(z) share a CM, then f(z) = Ce-lambda z - a/A + a, where lambda(k) = A = (ln(A + 1))(k), A and C are nonzero constants. Moreover, suppose f(z) is a nonconstant entire function. If f(z), f''(z) and Delta(c)f(z) share 0 CM, then f(z) = Ce-lambda z, where lambda(2) = A.

Abstract:Let $f\in {\mathbb {Q}}[X]$ be a polynomial without multiple roots and $deg(f)\ge 2$. We consider the Diophantine equation $f(x)f(y)=f(z^2)$. For two classes of irreducible quadratic polynomials, this equation has infinitely many nontrivial integer solutions, if the corresponding Pell’s equations satisfy a condition. For a special cubic polynomial, it has a one-parameter family of rational solutions. For $f(X)=X(X^2+X+k)$ and $X(X^2+kX+1)$ there are infinitely many $k \in {\mathbb {Q}}$ such that the title equation has rational solutions.

Lastly , by using the fixed pointed alternative , the general solution to the above functional equation was given and the stability of cubic functional equation was proved .

If $f$ and $\Delta^{n}_{\eta}f$ share $a,b,c$ CM, then $f\equiv \Delta^{n}_{\eta}f$.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the uniqueness of the differential-difference polynomials of entire functions on $\mathbb{C}^{n}$. We prove the following result: Let $f(z)$ be a transcendental entire function on $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ of hyper-order less than $1$ and $g(z)=b_{-1}+\sum_{i=0}^{n}b_{i}f^{(k_{i})}(z+\eta_{i})$, where $b_{-1}$ and $b_{i} (i=0\ldots,n)$ are small meromorphic functions of $f$ on $\mathbb{C}^{n}$, $k_{i}\geq0 (i=0\ldots,n)$ are integers, and $\eta_{i} (i=0\ldots,n)$ are finite values. Let $a_{1}(z)\not\equiv\infty, a_{2}(z)\not\equiv\infty$ be two distinct small meromorphic functions of $f(z)$ on $\mathbb{C}^{n}$. If $f(z)$ and $g(z)$ share $a_{1}(z)$ CM, and $a_{2}(z)$ IM. Then either $f(z)\equiv g(z)$ or $a_{1}=2a_{2}=2$, $$f(z)\equiv e^{2p}-2e^{p}+2,$$ and $$g(z)\equiv e^{p},$$ where $p(z)$ is a non-constant entire function on $\mathbb{C}^{n}$. Especially, in the case of $g(z)=(\Delta_{\eta}^{n}f(z))^{k}$, we obtain $f(z)\equiv (\Delta_{\eta}^{n}f(z))^{k}$.

Abstract:We obtain some quantitative estimates on the number of fixpoints of composite entire function f(g(z)) in the sense of k-order ρk(f(g)). For example, it is proved that if and T(r,f)=O((logr)ρ)(p>1), then the k-order of the counting function N(r,1/(f(g)-z)) is ρk(f(g)), which extends the main result of Bergweiler [1].

Abstract:In 1992, Gundersen (Complex Var. Elliptic Equ.20 (1992), no. 1-4, 99-106.) proposed the following famous open question: if two non-constant meromorphic functions share three values IM and share a fourth value CM, then do the functions necessarily share all four values CM? The open question is a long-standing question in the studies of the Nevanlinna$'$s value distribution theory of meromorphic functions, and has not been completely resolved by now. In this paper, we prove that if two distinct non-constant meromorphic functions $f$ and $g$ of finite order share $0,$ $1,$ $c$ IM and $\infty$ CM, where $c$ is a finite complex value such that $c\not\in\{0,1\},$ then $f$ and $g$ share $0,$ $1,$ $c,$ $\infty$ CM. Applying the main result obtained in this paper, we completely resolve a question proposed by Gary G. Gundersen on Page 458 of his paper (J. London Math. Soc. 20(1979), no. 2, 457-466.)concerning the nonexistence of two distinct non-constant meromorphic functions sharing three distinct values DM and a fourth value CM. The obtained result also improves the corresponding result on Pages 109-117 in (E. Mues, Bemerkungen zum vier-punkte-satz, Complex Methods on Partial Diferential Equations, 109-117, Math. Res. 53, Akademie-Verlag, Berlin, 1989.) concerning the nonexistence of two distinct non-constant entire functions that share three distinct finite values DM. Examples are provided to show that the main results obtained in this paper, in a sense, are best possible.
