Abstract:Man passed away, is Foucault's important proposition and shared by Zhuang Zi to certain extent, but not completely corresponding. Foucault's idea is the disintegration of the subjectivity, while Zhuang Zi focused on the distortion of the spontaneousness. But the aim of what they had animadverted is the same: man has been made and educated, the power which dissimilates human is power /knowledge to Foucault, but you-wei/ethics to Zhuang Zi, which is regarded as against the nature of human, so both Foucault and Zhuang Zi encouraged humans to break away from it, and try to be individualized. But the difference is that Foucault's individualization is a derelict desire, while Zhuang Zi`s is a return to nature.
