Study of Uncertain Factors in Traffic Accidents of Vehicle Impacting Pedestrian

Abstract:There are many uncertain factors in a traffic accident of vehicle impacting pedestrian, such as collision point position and friction coefficient of road surface, flight distance, throw height and angle of body. According to the factors with uncertain value,the impact velocity can be estimated with much more uncertainty. To probe the scope of uncertainty value,all the uncertain factors in a pedestrian accident are investigated. The uncertainty analysis method on common kinematics algorithm of impact velocity is developed through the relative uncertainty theory of multifunction. An example about an actual accident is presented. The conclusion shows that the friction coefficient between body and road surface has the most obvious influence on the uncertainty of calculation result.
