Abstract:Several aromatic aldehydes and sodium bisulfite were mixed to prepare hydroxyl sulfonates,which were added to o-phenylenediamine or substituted o-phenylenediamine in refluxing ethanol to afford 2-substi-tuted benzimidazoles through oxidation by air directly.One of the fifteen synthesized compounds,2-(4-chlorophyenyl)-6-methoxyl-1H-benzimidazole has not been reported.All the compounds were identified by IR,1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis.The method is simple,mild,eco-friendly and requires no catalyst.

Abstract:An efficient synthesis of novel phenoxyimine ligands containing a difluorovinylbiphenyl group was based on the Suzuki coupling coupling of 4-bromo-2,6-difluoroaniline with 4-styrylboronic acid followed by a condensation reaction with various arylaldehydes. The structures were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectra and HRMS. The advantages of this synthetic route were its simple operation, mild reaction conditions and good yields.

Abstract:Several new 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives containing a pyrazole ring were designed and synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate and triethyl orthoformate as starting materials via multi-step reactions. The compound structures were confirmed by melting point, 1 H NMR and HRMS. They were evaluated for fungicidal and herbicidal activities. Four of the compounds exhibited moderate fungicidal activity against Colletotrichum species. Most of the compounds had moderate-to-good activity as a herbicide.

Abstract:A synthetic route for the preparation of 2-(benzylthio)-5-[1-(4-fluorobenzyl)-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl]-1,3,4-oxadiazoles derivatives from ethyl 3-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylate has been developed. The configurations of the intermediate 1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thione and 3-bromobenzylthio substituted 1,3,4-oxadiazole were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The in vitro xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity of these compounds was evaluated.

Abstract:A series of new 4-substituted benzoxazolone derivatives were synthesized according to a convenient method, their anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities in vivo were evaluated. All of them were new compounds, the structures of all the synthesized compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, ESI-MS and HR-MS. Most of the compounds exhibited anti-inflammatory activity.

Abstract:Pyrazole compounds are one kind of heterocyclic compounds with extensive bioactivity,and lots of pyrazole compounds have been commercialized both in the region of medicament and pesticide.In the process of finding out some novel pyrazole compounds,a~d four novel pyrazole intermediates were synthesized.Taking diethyl oxalate as starting substance,the novel compounds can be synthesized via condensation,cyclic condensation,alkylation,(bromination) and hydrolysis reactions.The yield of products was about 78%-90%.Their structures were confirmed by elementary analysis,1H-NMR,MS and IR.

Abstract:We have developed a novel and efficient method for the preparation of 2,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles. These compounds 3a-3p were synthesized in good yield by refluxing alpha-aminoacetophenones and hydrazines in glacial acetic acid. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions and is compatible with various functional groups.

Abstract:A library of 32 members of 3,4-dihydro-3-oxo-2H-1,4-benzoxazines has been synthesized from two substituted 2-aminophenols via microwave-assisted one-pot regioselective annulation of 2-bromoalkanoates and subsequent Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of the chloro-substituted scaffolds. The latter transformation was carried out using our Aphos-Pd(OAc)(2) catalyst and the coupling of the aryl chlorides with arylboronic acids proceeded under mild reaction conditions at 60-80 degrees C in THF-H2O (10:1) in the presence of K3PO4 center dot 3H(2)O as the base to furnish the corresponding biaryl products in 80-98% yields. Abstract:The [4+3] annulation of aza‐o‐quinone methides and pyridinium 1,4‐zwitterionic thiolates has been developed for the one‐step synthesis of functionalized 2,3‐unsaturated 4,1‐benzothiazepines under mild and metal‐free conditions. The produced 4,1‐benzothiazepines can easily be converted into biologically interesting sulfoxides and sulfones via selective oxidization with m‐CPBA.

Abstract:Eight benzotriazoles and (4-methoxy)benzotriazoles, mono- or di-substituted derivatives of 2,4-dihydroxyaceto(or benzo)phenone were synthesized by azo coupling of (4-methoxy)2-nitrobenzenediazonium chloride with 2,4-dihydroxyaceto(or benzo)phenone followed by reductive cyclization. Pure mono-substituted compounds were very difficult to prepare. Careful selection of thepH for the azo coupling and selection of the proper reagents for the reductive cyclization were essential. All compounds were characterized by their ultraviolet, infrared1H and13C NMR spectra and their elemental analysis. These compounds have both the 2(2-hydroxyphenyl)2H-benzotriazole unit and a 2-hydroxyaceto(or benzo)phenone unit in the same molecule and are effective and useful ultraviolet absorbers.

Abstract:A photocatalytic reaction of N-(2-vinylphenyl)amides, DABCO(SO2)(2) and arenediazonium tetrafluoroborates for the synthesis of 4-((arylsulfonyl)methyl)-4H-benzo[d][1,3]oxazines under mild conditions is reported. This synthetic approach is enabled by merging photoredox catalysis and insertion of sulfur dioxide via a radical process. The specific role of photoredox catalysis in this transformation is supported by mechanistic investigations and theoretical calculations.

Abstract:A highly efficient and convenient protocol was developed to access 2-amino-4H-benzothiopyran-4-ones through a process of conjugated addition-elimination. The sulfinyl group was proved to be the optimum leaving group by thorough investigations on the elimination of sulfide, sulfinyl, and sulfonyl groups at the 2-position of benzothiopyranone. Most 2-aminobenzothiopyranones were obtained in good to excellent yields under refluxing in isopropanol within 36 h. This method is base-free and the substrate scope in terms of electronic properties of the substituents of the benzothiopyranone is broad. The ten grams scale-up synthesis of the representative compounds 4a and 4d was implemented to show the practical application of this reaction, which afforded the corresponding compounds in good yields and excellent chemical purity without requiring column chromatographical purification.

Abstract:In this study, 2-(aminomethyl)phenol and its derivatives, the reactants for 2-substituted 1,3-benzoxazines, are synthesized by HCl hydrolysis from the typical benzoxazines. The phenol/aniline-based mono-oxazine benzoxazine, PH-a, and the bisphenol A/aniline-based bis-oxazine benzoxazine, BA-a, are used as examples to demonstrate the feasibility of this new approach. Their chemical structures are characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopies, and are further verified by elementary analysis. Their thermal properties are studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). These two 2-(aminomethyl) phenolic derivatives are reacted with paraformaldehyde to close the oxazine rings. A benzoxazine with a phenyl substituent at the 2-position of the oxazine ring is obtained from the 2-((phenylamino)methyl)phenol (hPH-a) and benzaldehyde. All these results highlight the success of the HCl hydrolysis and the formation of stable intermediates, namely 2-(aminomethyl) phenolic derivatives, from readily available benzoxazine monomers. This further demonstrates the feasibility of using these intermediates as reactants for a novel benzoxazine synthesis.

Abstract:The synthesis of novel 4-substituted-6-(4-chlorophenyl)-7-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-s-triazolo[1,4b]-1',3',4'-thiadiazines (4a&SIM; 4m) by the condensation of 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-substituted-1,2,4-triazoles (3a&SIM; 3m) with 2-bromo-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-4'-chloroacetophenone (2) was described. The structures of compounds were confirmed by elemental analyses, IR, H-1 NMR and mass spectral data. These compounds have also been screened for their antibacterial activities.
