Abstract:Crossing the Century Gate by Pro.Gong Jushan,as a book dealing with studies of reportage,has recently been published by Hongqi Publishing House.Pro.Xie Mian and Pro.Yin Junsheng have appraised of its appearance.In the perspective of culture-anthropology,the book explores why and how reportage both at home and abroad originates and develops in 20th century,offers thoughtful explanations of new-era reportage writing,and also provides effective solutions to some significant and sensitive theoretical problems.The book,also convincingly anticipating the optimistic prospects for new-century documentary writing with reportage as its core constituent,is supposed to be the new achievement in studies of reportage.
