Abstract:This paper explored the method of extracting samples with high generalization level and the improved algorithm to avoid calculating the inverse of matrix.The new algorithm is applied to fault diagnosis of diesel engine fuel system in the platform of LABVIEW through using the Matlab script node.Experimental results indicate that the diagnosis network based on new algorithm has preferable diagnosis efficiency and satisfactory accuracy.

Abstract:The misfire of one or more diesel cylinder and the abnormal clearance in the intake valve train of cylinder are common faults which affect the safety and the performance of the engine seriously. A new fault diagnosis method based on EEMD and instantaneous energy density spectrum is proposed here. The IMFs generated by EEMD can alleviate the problem of mode mixing and approach the reality IMFs. The instantaneous energy density of these IMFs can distinguish the faulty impacts clearly. The effectiveness of this method was demonstrated by analysis the vibration signals of misfire fault and abnormal clearance in the intake valve train of 3110 diesel.

Abstract:This article presented the intelligent diagnostic system for electronic control diesel.Through the reliable communication with diesel control unit,intelligent system can not only read the diagnostic trouble codes relative to electronic control parts,but can order the diesel to run some special test modes,then analyze running parameters based on expert system to find out the problems of mechanical parts.For some more complicated problems,the intelligent diagnostic system adopts multiple sensors data fusion theory to raise the diagnostic reliability.

Abstract:ME diesel engine plays an important role in realizing energy conservation and environmental protection and improving the intelligent level of ship engine room. Because of its high technical content and high added value, using intelligent diagnosis technology to ensure safe and reliable work is an important means to realize intelligent engine room. Taking the ship electronic fuel injection system as an example, this paper introduces its working principle and common faults, analyzes and summarizes the research status of intelligent diagnosis technology at home and abroad in four aspects: fault mechanism, data measurement and feature extraction, fault mode classification and residual life prediction. Then, it analyzes the problems and future development trend of intelligent diagnosis technology, and points out that developing a health management system integrating weak fault signal extraction, multi-source data analysis, quantitative judgment of fault mode, remaining life prediction and maintenance suggestions is an important development goal in the future.

Abstract:Abstract As an important component of the fuel injection system, the fuel injector is crucial for ensuring the power, economy, and emissions for a whole ME (machine electronically-controlled) marine diesel engine. However, injectors are most prone to failures such as reduced pressure at the opening valve, clogged spray holes and worn needle valves, because of the harsh working conditions. The failure characteristics are non-stationary and non-linear. Therefore, to efficiently extract fault features, an improved refined composite multi-scale dispersion entropy (IRCMDE) is proposed, which uses the energy distribution of sampling points as weights for coarse-grained calculation, then fast correlation-based filter(FCBF) and support vector machine (SVM) are used for feature selection and fault classification, respectively. The experimental results from a MAN B&W 6S35ME-B9 marine diesel engine show that the proposed algorithm can achieve 92.12% fault accuracy for injector faults, which is higher than multiscale dispersion entropy (MDE), refined composite multiscale dispersion entropy (RCMDE) and multiscale permutation entropy (MPE). Moreover, the experiment has also proved that, due to the double-walled structure of the high-pressure fuel pipe, the fuel injection pressure signal is more accurate than the vibration signal in reflecting the injector operating conditions.

Abstract:On-line fuel injection system faults detection and diagnosis is a desirable function for diesel engines to ensure reliable operation. This paper introduces a fuzzy pattern recognition approach for assessing diesel fuel injection pressure patterns and detecting common fuel injection system faults based on the processed injection pressure data. A validation study indicated that this method was capable of screening out the characteristic parameters of the fuel injection system health condition. On-line diagnostic tests resulted in an over 80% of correct diagnoses on fuel injection system faults from 100 validation cases.

Abstract:The diesel engine has been a significant component of large-scale mechanical systems for the intelligent manufacturing industry. Because of its complex structure and poor working environment, it has trouble effectively acquiring the representative fault features. Further, fault diagnosis of the diesel engine faces great challenges. This paper presents a new fault diagnosis method for the detection of diesel engine faults under multiple operation conditions instead of conventional methods confined to a single condition. First, an adaptive correlation threshold process is designed as a preprocessing unit to enhance data quality by weakening non-impact region characteristics. Next, a feature extraction method for sound signals based on the Mel frequency cepstrum (MFC) is improved and introduced into the machinery fault diagnosis. Then, the combination of the improved feature and vibrational mode decomposition (VMD) is proposed to incorporate VMD into an effective adaptive decomposition of non-stationary signals to combine it with an excellent feature representation of the vibration signal. Finally, the vector quantization algorithm is adopted to reduce the feature dimensions and generate codebook model bases, which trains the K-Nearest Neighbor classifiers. Five comparative methods were carried out, and the experimental results show that the proposed method offers a good effect of the common valve clearance fault of diesel engines under different conditions.

Abstract:The fault diagnosis of mechanical system has become research focus recent years. General procedure of fault diagnosis includes monitoring working condition, collecting noise and fault signal, procuring typical fault sample characteristics, and making decision. However, it is hard to select suitable signal and acquire eigenvalue. Vibration intensity is a typical and effective eigenvalue in vibration signal. This paper takes WD615 diesel engine fuel supply system as an example to collects serious of signal in normal station. After comparing the value while fuel supply of a cylinder has been cut off with the value while the system is in regular state, it verifies that the method utilizing the vibration intensity index to diagnose fuel cut-off fault of diesel engine fuel supply system is correct.

Abstract:The hardware composition and software realization of the fault diagnosis of a new kind of ECU developed by the Institute of IC Engine of Shanghai Jiaotong University are introduced,including CONTINUE diagnosis, KOEO diagnosis, ER diagnosis, OUTPUT diagnosis and fuel injection balance diagnosis. The flow chart of the main program is given and the principle of the fault diagnosis as well as the output and management of fault code is presented detailedly. The test results show that the fault diagnosis can detect common faults of engines′ electronic control systems.

Abstract:This paper describes the application of model-based techniques to handle the problem of fault diagnostics. A specific diesel engine on board simulation system of fault self-diagnostics is established by MATLAB/SIMULINK and STATEFLOW toolbox. This system includes engine, sensors, ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and actuators model, and it is a real-time and accurately simulated dynamic system, a comfortable desktop environment for development and validation of electronic control diesel engine fault diagnostic system.

Abstract:A new aeroengine on-line fault diagnosis system based on dual-channel sensor measurements is investigated.Based on a nonlinear on-board engine model(NOBEM),the hybrid Kalman filters(HKF) which estimate measured engine parameters are designed.Through engine parameters obtained from the dual-channel measurements,the NOBEM and the HKF,on-line sensor fault detection and isolation(FDI),component fault and anomaly detection are realized.An on-line fault diagnosis system for an aeroengine with this approach is established.And then,some simulation tests are conducted to verify the performance of the system which can realize fault detection and isolation nicely,offering valuable reference for engineering applications of the aeroengine on-line fault diagnosis system.

Abstract:Considering the limitation of the traditional method in fault diagnosis with uncertain and incomplete information,Bayesian network model is established facing on the typical diesel engine fault diagnosis.The model is optimized by the structure and parameter learning with the help of expert knowledge and fault samples,and it can diagnose the fault efficiently and exactly under the special working conditions.Experimental results show that the technique is reliable and precise,and it could be expected to be applied to the diagnosis of large complex equipment.

Abstract:A new electronic control fuel injection system of ethanol-diesel engine was developed based on the single-cylinder diesel engine by using microprocessor MC9S12.The composition and function of the system were analyzed,the hardware circuit was designed,and the precise control of ethanol fuel injection quantity was realized by using timing control of input capture and output compare of the microprocessor,fuel injection pulse width map and bilinear interpolation algorithm.Simulation and experimental tests showed that variable injection width of ethanol fuel could be realized under different conditions,and the experiment of ethanol-diesel mixture combustion and exhaust emissions could be done effectively.

Abstract:A condition monitoring and fault diagnosis system for heavy duty diesel engines used in off-highway vehicles is developed. Via this system, the vibration, rotating speed or angle, temperature and pressure signals can be collected simultaneously at a high speed. The software is developed using virtual instrument technique. The system provides various types of signal analysis methods, and manual and intelligent diagnosis functions. Its performance is validated in engineering practice. The system can be generalized for monitoring and diagnosis of various reciprocating engines.

Abstract:Based on virtual instrument technology, the fault diagnosis system for diesel engine was developed. Its digital treatment system was consisted of sensors and PCI-6023E collectors, its design software was LABVIEW6. 0. This system character parameters were defined by engine's typical faults. Abstract:Based on ECU platform of MC9S12XEP100 single chip microcomputer,the fault diagnosis interface wad developed according to ISO 15765.The interface communicated through CAN bus and had the functions of authority control,fault management,real-time monitoring,vehicle testing,Flash programming and OBD mode.The results show that the interface can meet the fault diagnosis requirements of China Ⅲ diesel engine and bring support for the development,testing and calibration of diesel engine.
