Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of multiple solutions to the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem. We prove if $p<-n$, then for any integer $N>0$, there exists a smooth positive function f on $\mathbb S^n$ such that the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem admits at least N different smooth solutions. We also construct nonsmooth, positive function f for which the $L_{p}$-Minkowski problem has infinitely many $C^{1,1}$ solutions.

Abstract: The $L_p$-Minkowski problem deals with the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with prescribed $p$-area measures. It extends the classical Minkowski problem and embraces several important geometric and physical applications. The Existence of solutions has been obtained in the sub-critical case $p>-n-1$, but the problem remains widely open in the super-critical case $p<-n-1$. In this paper, we introduce new ideas to solve the problem for all the super-critical exponents. A crucial ingredient in our proof is a topological method based on the calculation of the homology of a topological space of ellipsoids.

Abstract:Recently, Boroczky, Lutwak, Yang, and Zhang [J. Amer. Math. Soc. 26 (2013), pp. 831-852] established necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to the logarithmic Minkowski problem for origin-symmetric measures. We establish the existence of solutions to the logarithmic Minkowski problem for non-symmetric measures and demonstrate the non-uniqueness of solutions to the logarithmic Minkowski problem.

Abstract:We consider a shrinking flow of smooth, closed, uniformly convex hypersurfaces in (n+1)-dimensional Euclidean space with speed fu^{alpha}{sigma}_n^{beta}, where u is the support function of the hypersurface, alpha, beta are two constants, and beta>0, sigma_n is the n-th symmetric polynomial of the principle curvature radii of the hypersurface. We prove that the flow has a unique smooth and uniformly convex solution for all time, and converges smoothly after normalisation, to a soliton which is a solution of an elliptic equation, when the constants alpha, beta belong to a suitable range, provided the initial hypersuface is origin-symmetric and f is a smooth positive even function on S^n. For the case alpha>= 1+n*beta, beta>0, we prove that the flow converges smoothly after normalisation to a unique smooth solution of an elliptic equation without any constraint on the initial hypersuface and smooth positive function f. When beta=1, our argument provides a uniform proof to the existence of the solutions to the equation of L_p Minkowski problem for p belongs to (-n-1,+infty).

Abstract:In this paper, the $\mathit{L}_{\mathit{p}}$-dual Minkowski problem of Monge-Ampère type were studied for different $\mathit{p}$ and $\mathit{q}$. Some new nonuniqueness results were obtained for the range $\mathit{p}\le\mathit{q}-\mathit{n}+1$, $\mathit{p}\lt\mathit{q}-\lambda_{1}(\mathit{n},\mathit{k})$ and $\mathit{f}\equiv1$, where $\lambda_{1}(\mathit{n},\mathit{k})$ is the best constant of the Poincaré inequality on $\mathbb{S}^{n-1}$ with k-symmetricity. The second part of this paper is devoted to prove some new nonexistence results for the supercritical range $\mathit{p}\leq-\mathit{q}, \mathit{q}\geq\mathit{n}$ on all dimensional spaces. The key ingredient of our proof was based on a generalization of Chou-Wang identity for $\mathit{q}=\mathit{n}$, $\mathit{p}$=$-\mathit{q}$ to a full range of $(\mathit{p},\mathit{q})$.

Abstract:Recently, the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem for unbounded closed convex sets in a pointed closed convex cone was proposed and a weak solution to this problem was provided. In smooth setting, this problem is equivalent to solving the Dirichlet problem for a class of Monge-Ampère type equations. In this paper, we show the existence, regularity and uniqueness of solutions to this Monge-Ampère type equation in the case $p\geq 1$ by studying variational properties for a family of Monge-Ampère functionals. Moreover, the existence and optimal global Hölder regularity in the case $p<1$ and $q\geq n$ is also be discussed.

Abstract:Lutwak, Yang and Zhang \cite{LYZ2018} introduced the $L_p$ dual curvature measure that unifies several other geometric measures in dual Brunn-Minkowski theory and Brunn- Minkowski theory. Motivated by works in \cite{LYZ2018}, we consider the uniqueness and continuity of the solution to the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem. To extend the important work (Theorem \ref{uniquepolytope}) of LYZ to the case for general convex bodies, we establish some new Minkowski-type inequalities which are closely related to the optimization problem associated with the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem. When $q< p$, the uniqueness of the solution to the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem for general convex bodies is obtained. Moreover, we obtain the continuity of the solution to the $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem for convex bodies.

Abstract:This note shows that under $(p,\alpha, N)\in (1,\infty)\times(0,2)\times\mathbb Z_+$ the fractional order differential inequality $$ (\dagger)\quad u^p \le (-\Delta)^{\frac{\alpha}{2}} u\quad\hbox{in}\quad\mathbb R^{N} $$ has the property that if $N\le\alpha$ then a nonnegative solution to $(\dagger)$ is unique, and if $N>\alpha$ then the uniqueness of a nonnegative weak solution to $(\dagger)$ occurs when and only when $p\le N/(N-\alpha)$, thereby innovatively generalizing Gidas-Spruck's result for $u^p+\Delta u\le 0$ in $\R^N$ discovered in \cite{GS}.

Abstract:For more general nonlinear term f, this paper shows the exact blow-up rate of the unique solution l(t) to the singular boundary value problem (|u′(t)|p−2u′(t))′=b(t)f(u(t)),u(t)>0,t>0,1<p≤2,u(0)=∞,u(∞)=0, where b∈C1(0,∞), which is positive and non-decreasing on (0,∞), may be vanishing on the boundary. Our results extend some previous findings of [L. Wei, J. Zhu, The existence and blow-up rate of large solutions of one-dimensional p-Laplacian equations, Nonlinear Anal.: Real World Appl. 13 (2012) 665–676] in a certain sense.

Abstract:The dual Minkowski problem in the two-dimensional plane is studied in this paper. By combining the theoretical analysis and numerical estimation of an integral with parameters, we find the number of solutions to this problem for the constant dual curvature case when $0<q\leq4$. An improved nonuniqueness result when $q>4$ is also obtained. As an application, a result on the uniqueness and nonuniqueness of solutions to the $L_p$-Alexandrov problem is obtained for $p<0$.

Abstract:In this paper we are concerned with the 2D incompressible Navier-Stokes equations driven by space-time white noise. We establish existence of infinitely many global-in-time probabilistically strong and analytically weak solutions $u$ for every divergence free initial condition $u_0\in L^p\cup C^{-1+\delta},\ p\in(1,2),\delta>0$. More precisely, there exist infinitely many solutions such that $u-z\in C([0,\infty);L^p)\cap L^2_{\rm{loc}}([0,\infty);H^\zeta)\cap L^1_{\rm{loc}}([0,\infty);W^{\frac13,1})$ for some $\zeta\in(0,1)$, where $z$ is the solution to the linear equation. This result in particular implies non-uniqueness in law. Our result is sharp in the sense that the solution satisfying $u-z\in C([0,\infty);L^2)\cap L^2_{\rm{loc}}([0,\infty);H^\zeta)$ for some $\zeta\in(0,1)$ is unique.

Consider the following stochastic partial differential equations in the plane:dX z=α(z, Xz)dMz+β(z, Xz)dAz, z∈R + 2 , Xz=Zz, z∈∂R + 2 , whereR + 2 =[0, +∞)×[0,+∞) and ∂R + 2 is its boundary,Z is a continuous stochastic process on ∂R + 2 . We establish a new theorem on the pathwise uniqueness of solutions for the equation under a weaker condition than the Lipschitz one. The result concerning the one-parameter analogue of the problem we consider here is immediate (see [1, Theorem 3.2]). Unfortunately, the situation is much more complicated for two-parameter process and we believe that our result is the first one of its kind and is interesting in itself. We have proved the existence theorem for the equation in [2].
