Abstract:We explicitly study Katoʼs residue homomorphisms in Milnor K-theory, which are closely related to Contou-Carrère symbols. As applications we establish several reciprocity laws for certain locally defined maps on K-groups that are associated to arithmetic surfaces.

Abstract:In this paper we briefly discuss some of our recent results in the study of moduli space of Riemann surfaces. It is naturally divided into two parts, one about the differential geometric aspect, another on the topological aspect of the moduli spaces. To understand the geometry of the moduli spaces we introduced new metrics, studied in detail all of the known classical complete metrics, especially the Kähler-Einstein metric. As a corollary we proved that the logarithmic cotangent bundle of the moduli space is strictly stable in the sense of Mumford. The topological results we obtained were motivated by conjectures from string theory. We will describe in this part our proofs by localization method of the Mariño-Vafa formula, its two partition analogue as well as the theory of topological vertex and the simple localization proofs of the ELSV formula and the Witten conjecture. The applications of these formulas in Gromov-Witten theory and string duality will also be mentioned.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper we introduce new local symbols, which we call 4-function local symbols. We formulate reciprocity laws for them. These reciprocity laws are proven using a new method - multidimensional iterated integrals. Besides providing reciprocity laws for the new 4-function local symbols, the same method works for proving reciprocity laws for the Parshin symbol. Both the new 4-function local symbols and the Parshin symbol can be expressed as a finite product of newly defined bi-local symbols, each of which satisfies a reciprocity law. The K -theoretic variant of the first 4-function local symbol is defined in the Appendix. It differs by a sign from the one defined via iterated integrals. Both the sign and the K -theoretic variant of the 4-function local symbol satisfy reciprocity laws, whose proof is based on Milnor K -theory (see the Appendix). The relation of the 4-function local symbols to the double free loop space of the surface is given by iterated integrals over membranes.

Abstract:We show that every reciprocity sheaf gives rise to a cycle (pre)module in the sense of Rost over a perfect field. Over a perfect field of positive characteristic, we show that the first cohomology group of a logarithmic de Rham-Witt sheaf has a partial cycle module structure. As a consequence, we show that Kato complexes of logarithmic de Rham-Witt sheaves satisfy functoriality properties similar to Rost's cycle complexes.

Abstract:We define a two-dimensional Contou-Carrère symbol, which is a deformation of the two-dimensional tame symbol and is a natural generalization of the (usual) one-dimensional Contou-Carrère symbol. We give several constructions of this symbol and investigate its properties. Using higher categorical methods, we prove reciprocity laws on algebraic surfaces for this symbol. We also relate the two-dimensional Contou-Carrère symbol to the two-dimensional class field theory.

Abstract:We associate to a full flag $\mathcal{F}$ in an $n$-dimensional variety $X$ over a field $k$, a "symbol map" $\mu_{\mathcal{F}}:K(F_X) \to \Sigma^n K(k)$. Here, $F_X$ is the field of rational functions on $X$, and $K(\cdot)$ is the $K$-theory spectrum. We prove a "reciprocity law" for these symbols: Given a partial flag, the sum of all symbols of full flags refining it is $0$. Examining this result on the level of $K$-groups, we re-obtain various "reciprocity laws". Namely, when $X$ is a smooth complete curve, we obtain degree of a principal divisor is zero, Weil reciprocity, Residue theorem, Contou-Carrère reciprocity. When $X$ is higher-dimensional, we obtain Parshin reciprocity.

A Generalized Contou-Carrère Symbol and its Reciprocity Laws in Higher Dimensions

Abstract:We generalize the theory of Contou-Carrère symbols to higher dimensions. To an $(n+1)$-tuple $f_0,\dots,f_n \in A((t_1))\cdots((t_n))^{\times}$, where $A$ denotes a commutative algebra over a field $k$, we associate an element $(f_0,\dots,f_n) \in A^{\times}$, compatible with the higher tame symbol for $k = A$, and earlier constructions for $n = 1$, by Contou-Carrère, and $n = 2$ by Osipov--Zhu. Our definition is based on the notion of \emph{higher commutators} for central extensions of groups by spectra, thereby extending the approach of Arbarello--de Concini--Kac and Anderson--Pablos Romo. Following Beilinson--Bloch--Esnault for the case $n=1$, we allow $A$ to be arbitrary, and do not restrict to artinian $A$. Previous work of the authors on Tate objects in exact categories, and the index map in algebraic $K$-theory is essential in anchoring our approach to its predecessors. We also revisit categorical formal completions, in the context of stable $\infty$-categories. Using these tools, we describe the higher Contou-Carrère symbol as a composition of boundary maps in algebraic $K$-theory, and conclude the article by proving a version of Parshin--Kato reciprocity for higher Contou-Carrère symbols.

Abstract:If two conical symplectic resolutions $X\to X_0$ and $X^!\to X_0^!$ are symplectic dual, the cohomology ring $H^*(X)$ and the coordinate ring of $\mathbb{C}^*$-fixed points in $X_0^!$ are expected to be isomorphic as graded algebras. This statement is called Hikita conjecture and it is known that the conjecture holds for some cases. In this paper, we deal with the cohomology of framed moduli spaces over the projective plane and the coordinate ring of $\mathbb{C}^*$- fixed points of $\mathbb{C}^{2n}/((\mathbb{Z}/r\mathbb{Z})\wr S_n) $ and show that these are isomorphic as graded vector spaces.

Diffuse radio emission in a REFLEX cluster

Abstract:Deep Very Large Array radio observations are presented for the REFLEX clusters RXCJ0437.1+0043 and RXCJ1314.4-2515. They are at similar distance and show similar X-ray luminosity, but they are quite different in X-ray structure. Indeed RXCJ0437.1+0043 is regular and relaxed, whereas RXCJ1314.4-2515 is characterized by substructure and possible merging processes. The radio images reveal no diffuse emission in RXCJ0437.1+0043, and a complex diffuse structure in RXCJ1314.4-2515. The diffuse source in the latter cluster consists of a central radio halo which extends to the West toward the cluster periphery and bends to the North to form a possible relic. Another extended source is detected in the eastern cluster peripheral region. Although there could be plausible optical identifications for this source, it might also be a relic candidate owing to its very steep spectrum. The present results confirm the tight link between diffuse cluster radio sources and cluster merger processes.

Abstract:We will formulate and prove a certain reciprocity law relating certain residues of the differential symbol dlog^2 from the K_2 of a Mumford curve to the rigid analytic regulator constructed by the author in a previous paper. We will use this result to deduce some consequences on the kernel and image of the rigid analytic regulator analogous to some old conjectures of Beilinson and Bloch on the complex analytic regulator. We also relate our construction to the symbol defined by Contou-Carrere and to Kato's residue homomorphism, and we show that Weil's reciprocity law directly implies the reciprocity law of Anderson and Romo.

Abstract:We first introduce global arithmetic cohomology groups for quasi-coherent sheaves on arithmetic varieties, adopting an adelic approach. Then, we establish fundamental properties, such as topological duality and inductive long exact sequences, for these cohomology groups on arithmetic surfaces. Finally, we expose basic structures for ind-pro topologies on adelic spaces of arithmetic surfaces. In particular, we show that these adelic spaces are topologically self-dual.

Abstract:We introduce the theory of local and global monodromies of polynomials in cohomology groups in various geometric situations, focusing on its relations with toric geometry and motivic Milnor fibers, and moreover in the modern languages of nearby and vanishing cycle functors. Equivariant mixed Hodge numbers of motivic Milnor fibers will be described in terms of Newton polyhedra of polynomials.

Abstract:Our investigation focuses on an additive analogue of the Bloch-Gabber-Kato theorem which establishes a relation between the Milnor $K$-group of a field of positive characteristic and a Galois cohomology group of the field. Extending the Aritin-Schreier-Witt theory, we present an isomorphism from the Mackey product associated with the Witt group and the multiplicative groups to a Galois cohomology group. As a result, we give an expression for the torsion subgroup of the Brauer group of a field, and more generally, the Kato homology groups.

Abstract:In 1986, Kato set up a framework of conjectures relating (higher) $0$-cycles and étale cohomology for smooth projective schemes over finite fields or rings of integers in local fields through the homology of so-called Kato complexes. In analogy, we develop a framework of conjectures for $1$-cycles on smooth projective rationally connected varieties over algebraically closed fields and for families of such varieties over henselian discrete valuation rings with algebraically closed fields. This is partly motivated by results of Colliot-Thélène-Voisin [3] in dimension $3$. We prove some special cases building on recent results of Kollár-Tian [16].

Abstract:We consider autoequivalences of the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves on a K3 surface. We prove that the image of the autoequivalences has index at most two in the group of the Hodge isometries of the Mukai lattice. Motivated by homological mirror symmetry, we also consider the mirror counterpart, i.e., the symplectic version of it. In the case of rho(X) = 1, we find an explicit formula which reproduces the number of Fourier-Mukai (FM) partners from the monodromy problem of the mirror K3 family. We present an explicit example in which a monodromy action does not come from an autoequivalence of the mirror side.

Abstract:We prove an equality, predicted in the physical literature, between the Jeffrey-Kirwan residues of certain explicit meromorphic forms attached to a quiver without loops or oriented cycles and its Donaldson-Thomas type invariants. In the special case of complete bipartite quivers we also show independently, using scattering diagrams and theta functions, that the same Jeffrey-Kirwan residues are determined by the the Gross-Hacking-Keel mirror family to a log Calabi-Yau surface.

Abstract:For a reciprocity functor $\mathcal{M}$ we consider the local symbol complex $\mathcal{M}\otimes^{M}\mathbb{G}_{m}(\eta_{C})\to\oplus_{P\in C}\mathcal{M}(k)\to\mathcal{M}(k)$, where $C$ is a smooth complete curve over an algebraically closed field $k$ with generic point $\eta_{C}$ and $\otimes^{M}$ is the product of Mackey functors. We prove that if $\mathcal{M}$ satisfies certain conditions, then the homology of the above complex is isomorphic to the $K$-group of reciprocity functors $T(\mathcal{M},\underline{CH}_{0}(C)^{0})(Spec k)$.

Abstract:We give a new geometric characterization of the motivic ramification filtration of reciprocity sheaves, by imitating a method used by Abbes and (Takeshi) Saito to study the ramification of torsors under finite étale groups. This new characterization is used to define characteristic forms for reciprocity sheaves. We obtain applications on pseudo-rational singularities and on questions regarding the representability of certain cohomology groups of reciprocity sheaves in the triangulated category of motives with modulus introduced by Kahn-Miyazaki-Saito-Yamazaki.

Abstract:This paper introduces the notion of locally algebraic representations and corresponding sheaves in the context of the cohomology of arithmetic groups. These representations are particularly relevant for studying integral structures and special values of cohomological automorphic representations, as well as corresponding period relations. We introduce and investigate related concepts such as locally algebraic $(\mathfrak{g},K)$-modules and cohomological types of automorphic representations. Applying the recently developed theory of tdos and twisted $\mathcal D$-modules, we establish the existence of canonical global $1/N$-integral structures on spaces of automorphic cusp forms. As an application, we define canonical periods attached to regular algebraic automorphic representations, potentially related to the action of Venkatesh's derived Hecke algebra on cuspidal cohomology.

Abstract:In this expository article, we outline a basic theory of group (co)homology and prove a cohomological formulation of the Local Reciprocity Law: $${\rm Gal}(L/K)^{\rm ab} \cong H_T^{-2}({\rm Gal}(L/K),\mathbb{Z}) \cong H_T^{0}({\rm Gal}(L/K),L^\times) \cong \frac{K^\times}{{\rm Nm}_{L/K}(L^\times)}$$ We first recall basic facts about local fields and homological algebra. Then we define group (co)homology, Tate cohomology, and furnish a toolbox. The Local Reciprocity Law is proven in an abstract cohomological setting, then applied to the case of local fields.

Abstract:Since the development of higher local class field theory, several explicit reciprocity laws have been constructed. In particular, there are formulas describing the higher-dimensional Hilbert symbol given, among others, by M. Kurihara, A. Zinoviev and S. Vostokov. K. Kato also has explicit formulas for the higher-dimensional Kummer pairing associated to certain (one-dimensional) $p$-divisible groups. In this paper we construct an explicit reciprocity law describing the Kummer pairing associated to any (one-dimensional) formal group. The formulas are a generalization to higher-dimensional local fields of Kolyvagin's reciprocity laws. The formulas obtained describe the values of the pairing in terms of multidimensional $p$-adic differentiation, the logarithm of the formal group, the generalized trace and the norm on Milnor K-groups. In the second part of this paper, we will apply the results obtained here to give explicit formulas for the generalized Hilbert symbol and the Kummer pairing associated to a Lubin-Tate formal group. The results obtained in the second paper constitute a generalization to higher local fields, of the formulas of Artin-Hasse, K. Iwasawa and A. Wiles.
