As applications, we present a construction of globally convergent power series of integrable Beltrami differentials on Calabi-Yau manifolds, and use an iteration method to construct global canonical families of holomorphic (n, 0)-forms on the deformation spaces of Kähler manifolds.

Abstract:We prove asymptotic estimates for the growth in the degree of the Hodge locus in terms of arithmetic properties of the integral vectors that define it. Our methods are general and apply to most variations of Hodge structures for which the Hodge locus is dense. As applications we give asymptotic formulas controlling the degrees of Noether-Lefschetz loci associated to smooth projective hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{P}^3$, and the degrees of subvarieties of the Torelli locus parameterizing Jacobians split up to isogeny.

Abstract:We begin with a deformation of a differential graded algebra by adding time and using a homotopy. It is shown that the standard formulae of Itô calculus are an example, with four caveats: First, it says nothing about probability. Second, it assumes smooth functions. Third, it deforms all orders of forms, not just first order. Fourth, it also deforms the product of the DGA. An isomorphism between the deformed and original DGAs may be interpreted as the transformation rule between the Stratonovich and classical calculus (again no probability). The isomorphism can be used to construct covariant derivatives with the deformed calculus. We apply the deformation in noncommutative geometry, to the Podleś sphere $S^2_q$. This involves the Hodge theory of $S^2_q$.

Abstract:Every compact Riemann surface $X$ admits a natural projective structure $p_u$ as a consequence of the uniformization theorem. In this work we describe the construction of another natural projective structure on $X$, namely the Hodge projective structure $p_h$, related to the second fundamental form of the period map. We then describe how projective structures correspond to $(1,1)$-differential forms on the moduli space of projective curves and, from this correspondence, we deduce that $p_u$ and $p_h$ are not the same structure.

Abstract:We prove that the Hodge–Tate spectral sequence of a proper smooth rigid analytic variety can be reconstructed from its infinitesimal -cohomology through the Bialynicki–Birula map. We also give a new proof of the torsion-freeness of the infinitesimal -cohomology independent of Conrad–Gabber spreading theorem, and a conceptual explanation that the degeneration of Hodge–Tate spectral sequences is equivalent to that of Hodge–de Rham spectral sequences.

Abstract:We study the weighted spectrum and vanishing cohomology for several classes of isolated hypersurface singularities, and how they contribute to the limiting mixed Hodge structure of a smoothing. Applications are given to several types of singularities arising in KSBA and GIT compactifications and mirror symmetry, including nodes on odd-dimensional hypersurfaces, $k$-log-canonical and $k$-rational singularities, and singularities with Calabi-Yau tail.

Abstract:We construct a mixed Hodge structure on the topological K-theory of smooth Poisson varieties, depending weakly on a choice of compactification. We establish a package of tools for calculations with these structures, such as functoriality statements, projective bundle formulae, Gysin sequences and Torelli properties. We show that for varieties with trivial A-hat class, the corresponding period maps for families can be written as exponential maps for bundles of tori, which we call the "quantum parameters". As justification for the terminology, we show that in many interesting examples, the quantum parameters of a Poisson variety coincide with the parameters appearing in its known deformation quantizations. In particular, we give a detailed implementation of an argument of Kontsevich, to prove that his canonical quantization formula, when applied to Poisson tori, yields noncommutative tori with parameter "$q = e^\hbar$".

Abstract:In these lecture notes, we provide an introduction to the moduli space of Riemann surfaces, a fundamental concept in the theories of 2D quantum gravity, topological string theory, and matrix models. We begin by reviewing some basic results concerning the recursive boundary structure of the moduli space and the associated cohomology theory. We then present Witten's celebrated conjecture and its generalisation, framing it as a recursive computation of cohomological field theory correlators via topological recursion. We conclude with a discussion of JT gravity in relation to hyperbolic geometry and topological strings. These lecture notes accompanied a series of lectures at the Les Houches school "Quantum Geometry (Mathematical Methods for Gravity, Gauge Theories and Non-Perturbative Physics)" in Summer 2024.

Abstract:Motivated by classical Alexander invariants of affine hypersurface complements, we endow certain finite dimensional quotients of the homology of abelian covers of complex algebraic varieties with a canonical and functorial mixed Hodge structure (MHS). More precisely, we focus on covers which arise algebraically in the following way: if $U$ is a smooth connected complex algebraic variety and $G$ is a complex semiabelian variety, the pullback of the exponential map by an algebraic morphism $f:U\to G$ yields a covering space $\pi:U^f\to U$ whose group of deck transformations is $\pi_1(G)$. The new MHSs are compatible with Deligne's MHS on the homology of $U$ through the covering map $\pi$ and satisfy a direct sum decomposition as MHSs into generalized eigenspaces by the action of deck transformations. This provides a vast generalization of the previous results regarding univariable Alexander modules by Geske, Maxim, Wang and the authors. Lastly, we reduce the problem of whether the first Betti number of the Milnor fiber of a central hyperplane arrangement complement is combinatorial to a question about the Hodge filtration of certain MHSs defined in this paper, providing evidence that the new structures contain interesting information.

Abstract:Using Hodge theory and Banach fixed point theorem, Liu and Zhu developed a global method to deal with various problems in deformation theory. In this note, the authors generalize Liu-Zhu's method to treat two deformation problems for non-Kähler manifolds. They apply the -Hodge theory to construct a deformation formula for ( p, q )-forms of compact complex manifold under deformations, which can be used to study the Hodge number of complex manifold under deformations. In the second part of this note, by using the -Hodge theory, they provide a simple proof of the unobstructed deformation theorem for the non-Kähler Calabi-Yau -manifolds.

Abstract:T. Mochizuki constructs a theory of variations of wild Hodge structure for which the underlying flat connection can have irregular singularities at infinity. He extends in this way the correspondence of Corlette and Simpson between irreducible flat bundles and stables Higgs bundles, taking into account objects with irregular singularities. As an application, he proves a conjecture of Kashiwara concerning a generalization of the Hard Lefschetz theorem when the coefficients are the de Rham complex of a simple holonomic D-module on smooth complex projective variety.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to establish several new results about the Hodge theory of Lagrangian fibrations on (not necessarily compact) holomorphic symplectic manifolds. Let $M$ be a holomorphic symplectic manifold of dimension $2n$ that is Kähler but not necessarily compact, and let $\pi \colon M \to B$ be a Lagrangian fibration. We establish a relationship between the bundle of holomorphic $(n+i)$-forms on $M$ and the $i$-th perverse sheaf $P_i$ in the decomposition theorem for $\pi$. This is formulated using Saito's theory of Hodge modules and the BGG correspondence (between graded modules over the symmetric and exterior algebra). Along the way, we prove a relative Hard Lefschetz theorem for the action by the symplectic form; we prove two recent conjectures by Maulik, Shen, and Yin; we give a short proof for Matsushita's theorem (about higher direct images of the structure sheaf); and we show, without using hyperkähler metrics, that every Lagrangian fibration gives rise to an action by the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_3(\mathbb{C})$ (in the noncompact case) or $\mathfrak{sl}_4(\mathbb{C})$ (in the compact case).

Abstract:We explain the homological relation between the Frobenius structure on the deformation space of Calabi-Yau manifold and the gauge theory of Kodaira-Spencer gravity. We show that the genus zero generating function of descendant invariants on Calabi-Yau manifolds from Barannikov's semi-infinite variation of Hodge structures is equivalent to the Kodaira-Spencer gauge theory at tree level.
