Abstract:In view of the modular equation of fifth order, we give a simple proof of Keith's conjecture which is some infinite families of congruences modulo 3 for the 9-regular partition function. Meanwhile, we derive some new congruences modulo 3 for the 9-regular partition function.

Abstract:Recently, Amdeberhan, Sellers and Singh introduced the notion of a generalized cubic partition function $a_c(n)$ and proved two isolated congruences via modular forms, namely $a_3(7n+4)\equiv 0\pmod{7}$ and $a_5(11n+10)\equiv 0\pmod{11}$. In this paper, we provide another proofs of these congruences using classical $q$-series manipulations. We also give an infinite family of congruences for $a_c(n)$ for primes $p\equiv 5,7\pmod{8}$ and other isolated congruences modulo $19,23$ and $31$ using modular forms.

Abstract:The main result of the paper is the existence of an infinitely many families of Ramanujan-type congruences for $b_4(n)$ and $b_6(n)$ modulo primes $m \geq 2$ and $m \geq 5$, respectively. We provide new examples of congruences for $b_4(n)$ and $b_6(n)$. Moreover, we find two infinite explicit infinite families of congruences for $b_4(n)$ modulo $3$.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a conjecture, which generalises Euler's partition theorem involving odd parts and different parts for all moduli. We prove this conjecture for two family partitions. We give $q$-difference equations for the related generating function if the moduli is three. We provide new companions to Rogers-Ramanujan-Andrews-Gordon identities under this conjecture.

Abstract:In 1919, Ramanujan proved red three congruences for the partition function p ( n ) which denotes the number of partitions of n . The partition function p ( n ) can be understood as the number of irreducible characters of the symmetric group S n . Recently, Nath and Sellers, and Xia established a number of congruences modulo 2, 3, and 5 for the numbers of spin characters of Ŝn and Ân , where Ŝn and Ân are the double covering group of S n and the double covering group of the alternating group A n , respectively. Motivated by their work, we establish infinite families of congruences modulo 5 for a ( n ), which denotes the number of irreducible characters of the alternating group A n . In particular, we prove some strange congruences modulo 5 for a ( n ). For example, we prove that for k≥0 , a(95×732k+124)≡−3k (mod5).

A note on odd partition numbers

Abstract:Ramanujan's celebrated partition congruences modulo $\ell\in \{5, 7, 11\}$ assert that $$ p(\ell n+\delta_{\ell})\equiv 0\pmod{\ell}, $$ where $0<\delta_{\ell}<\ell$ satisfies $24\delta_{\ell}\equiv 1\pmod{\ell}.$ By proving Subbarao's Conjecture, Radu showed that there are no such congruences when it comes to parity. There are infinitely many odd (resp. even) partition numbers in every arithmetic progression. For primes $\ell \geq 5,$ we give a new proof of the conclusion that there are infinitely many $m$ for which $p(\ell m+\delta_{\ell})$ is odd. This proof uses a generalization, due to the second author and Ramsey, of a result of Mazur in his classic paper on the Eisenstein ideal. We also refine a classical criterion of Sturm for modular form congruences, which allows us to show that the smallest such $m$ satisfies $m<(\ell^2-1)/24,$ representing a significant improvement to the previous bound.

Abstract:For a given prime $p$, we study the properties of the $p$-dissection identities of Ramanujan's theta functions $\psi(q)$ and $f(-q)$, respectively. Then as applications, we find many infinite family of congruences modulo 2 for some $\ell$-regular partition functions, especially, for $\ell=2,4,5,8,13,16$. Moreover, based on the classical congruences for $p(n)$ given by Ramanujan, we obtain many more congruences for some $\ell$-regular partition functions.

This congruence family appears difficult to prove by classical methods. By employing $q$-identities, we prove some new Ramanujan-type congruences modulo 5 for $p_r(n)$ for $r=-(5\lambda+1), -(5\lambda+3), -(5\lambda+4), -(25\lambda+1)$, $-(25\lambda+2)$, and any integer $\lambda$.

Abstract:In this short note, we prove several new congruences for the overcubic partition triples function, using both elementary techniques and the theory of modular forms. These extend the recent list of such congruences given by Nayaka, Dharmendra, and Kumar (2024). Abstract:A cubic partition is an integer partition wherein the even parts can appear in two colors. In this paper, we introduce the notion of generalized cubic partitions and prove a number of new congruences akin to the classical Ramanujan-type. We emphasize two methods of proofs, one elementary (relying significantly on functional equations) and the other based on modular forms. We close by proving analogous results for generalized overcubic partitions.

Abstract:Let $p$ be prime, and let $p_{[1,p]}$ denote the function whose generating function is $\prod (1-q^n)^{-1}(1 - q^{pn})^{-1}$. This function and its generalizations $p_{[c^{\ell}, d^m]}$ are the subject of study in several recent papers. Let $\ell \geq 5$, and let $j\geq 1$ and let $p \in \{2, 3, 5 \}$. In this paper, we prove that the generating function for $p_{[1, p]}(n)$ in the progression $\beta_{p, \ell, j}$ modulo $\ell^j$ with $24\beta_{p, \ell, j} \equiv p + 1\pmod{\ell^j}$ lies in a Hecke-invariant subspace of type $\{\eta(Dz)\eta(Dpz)F(Dz) : F(z) \in M_{s}(\Gamma_0(p), \chi)\}$ for suitable $D\geq 1$, $s\geq 0$, and character $\chi$. When $p\in \{2, 3, 5\}$, we use the Hecke-invariance of these subspaces to prove, for distinct primes $\ell$ and $m\geq 5$ and $j\geq 1$, congruences of the form \[ p_{[1, p]}\left(\frac{\ell^jm^k n + 1}{D}\right)\equiv 0\pmod{\ell^j} \] for all $n\geq 1$ with $m\nmid n$, where $k$ is an explicitly computable constant depending on the modular forms in the invariant subspace. Our proofs requires adapting and extending analogous results on $p(n)$ in [1] and [19].

Abstract:The cubic partitions of a natural number $n$, introduced by Chan and Kim, have generating function $\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}a(n)q^n= \frac{1}{(q; q)_{\infty}(q^2; q^2)_{\infty}}.$ In this paper, we generalize some results of Chen-Lin, which suggest that $a(n)$ should have analogous properties of the ordinary partition function. Specifically, we show that for every non-negative integer $n$, $a(5^4n+547)\equiv 0\pmod{5^2}, a(7^3n+190)\equiv 0\pmod{7^2}, a(7^3n+288 \equiv 0\pmod{7^2} and a(7^3n+337)\equiv 0\pmod{7^2}.$

Abstract:Let S ( n ) denote the number of overpartitions of Schur-type. Recently, Chern, da Silva and Sellers proved many congruences modulo 8 and 16 for S ( n ). At the end of their paper, they also posed a conjecture on internal congruences modulo 32 for S ( n ). In this paper, we confirm their conjecture by using theta function identities and the ( p , k )-parameterization of theta functions given by Alaca and Williams. In particular, we show that for any integer j with 0 ≤ j ≤ 31, there are infinitely many integers u j such that S ( u j ) ≡ j (mod 32).

Abstract:Zhao (2003a) first established a congruence for any odd prime p>3, S(1,1,1;p)≡−2Bp−3 (mod p), which holds when p=3 evidently. In this paper, we consider finite triple harmonic sum S(α,β,γ,p) (mod p) is considered for all positive integers α,β,γ. We refer to w=α+β+γ as the weight of the sum, and show that if w is even, S(α,β,γ,p)≡0 (mod p) for p≥w+3; if w is odd S(α,γ,γ,p)≡rBp−w (mod p) for p≥w, here r is an explicit rational number independent of p.
