Abstract:The successful experience of CIM philosophy applied in manufacturing industries plays an important guidance role of computerized progress in newspapering. With the background of CIMS application project in Science and Technology Daily, this paper anatomizes the common problems of newspapering,such as business management, current technology status and information demands. This paper establishes the architecture of Computer Integrated News Systems(CINS) consisting of four sub-systems: office automation, workflow management, information comprehensive management and service, and logistic supports. Finally, the key technologies of CINS are discussed. This work is a helpful investigation to expand CIM to newspapering, and an important part of newspapering technology innovation.
