By applying the comparison theorem of the differential equation and constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions which guarantee the permanence and existence of a unique globally attractive positive almost periodic solution of the system are obtained.
Stochastic Volterra Equations for the Local Times of Spectrally Positive Stable Processes

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the evolution dynamics of local times of a spectrally positive stable process in the spatial direction. The main results state that conditioned on the finiteness of the first time at which the local time at zero exceeds a given value, the local times at positive half line are equal in distribution to the unique solution of a stochastic Volterra equation driven by a Poisson random measure whose intensity coincides with the Lévy measure. This helps us to provide not only a simple proof for the Hölder regularity, but also a uniform upper bound for all moments of the Hölder coefficient as well as a maximal inequality for the local times. Moreover, based on this stochastic Volterra equation, we extend the method of duality to establish an exponential-affine representation of the Laplace functional in terms of the unique solution of a nonlinear Volterra integral equation associated with the Laplace exponent of the stable process.

Abstract:This work is devoted to studying asymptotic behaviors for Volterra type McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations with small noise. By applying the weak convergence approach, we establish the large and moderate deviation principles. In addition, we obtain the central limit theorem and find the Volterra integral equation satisfied by the limiting process, which involves the Lions derivative of the drift coefficient.

Abstract:In this Letter, for a general class of delayed periodic Lotka–Volterra systems, we prove some new results on the existence of positive periodic solutions by Schauder's fixed point theorem. The global asymptotical stability of positive periodic solutions is discussed further, and conditions for exponential convergence are given. The conditions we obtained are weaker than the previously known ones and can be easily reduced to several special cases.

Abstract:We consider one-dimensional stochastic Volterra equations with jumps for which we establish conditions upon the convolution kernel and coefficients for the strong existence and pathwise uniqueness of a non-negative càdlàg solution. By using the approach recently developed in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2302.07758" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2302.07758">arXiv:2302.07758</a>, we show the strong existence by using a nonnegative approximation of the equation whose convergence is proved via a variant of the Yamada--Watanabe approximation technique. We apply our results to Lévy-driven stochastic Volterra equations. In particular, we are able to define a Volterra extension of the so-called alpha-stable Cox--Ingersoll--Ross process, which is especially used for applications in Mathematical Finance.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to establish some sufficient conditions ensuring the existence and uniqueness of positive (Bohr) almost periodic solutions to a class of semilinear evolution equations of the form: u′(t)=A(t)u(t)+f(t,u(t)),t∈R . We assume that the family of closed linear operators (A(t))t∈R on a Banach lattice X satisfies the "Acquistapace–Terreni" conditions, so that the associated evolution family is positive and has an exponential dichotomy on R . The nonlinear term f , acting on certain real interpolation spaces, is assumed to be almost periodic only in a weaker sense (i.e., in Stepanov's sense) with respect to t , and Lipschitzian in bounded sets with respect to the second variable. Moreover, we prove a new composition result for Stepanov almost periodic functions by assuming only continuity of f with respect to the second variable (see the condition Lemma 1‐(ii)). Finally, we provide an application to a system of Lotka–Volterra predator–prey type model with diffusion and time–dependent parameters in a generalized almost periodic environment.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a discrete almost periodic Lotka–Volterra competition system with delays. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the permanence and global attractivity of the system. Further, by means of an almost periodic functional hull theory, we show that the almost periodic system has a unique strictly positive almost periodic solution, which is globally attractive. Some examples are presented to verify our main results.

Abstract:We study the existence of solution of Volterra integral equations of the second kind and how we can approximate it. For this, we analyse the role played by the Banach Contraction Principle to locate a solution and its approximation by the method of successive approximations. We improve the previous analysis by giving a location of the solution and then approximate it by a collocation method that uses Lagrange polynomials. To avoid the Runge phenomenon that may appear when the number of nodes increases, we choose the Chebyshev zeros as the collocation points. But, when increasing the number of nodes to improve the precision, the problem of possible ill-conditioning of the linear system involved in the collocation method may arise. This last problem is solved by applying an inverse-free iterative method that uses only matrix products.

Abstract:Over the past decade, the study of stability theory in integro-differential systems has grown significantly owing to their relevance in solving physical and engineering problems, such as viscoelasticity and thermo-viscoelasticity in materials with memory properties. This paper concentrates on a class of infinite-dimensional stochastic integro-differential systems. We establish the well-posedness of the system and identify mild solutions to the system and an abstract stochastic Cauchy problem. This identification is identified by employing a semigroup approach combined with Yosida approximation. We derive sufficient conditions that ensure the mean-square exponential stability of mild solutions to the system boils down to the boundedness of a certain function and a norm estimate for the stochastic part. These conditions are implemented through the semigroup approach and the composition operator method. Illustrative examples are provided and the obtained theoretical results are validated by numerical simulations.

Abstract:We study the spatial-homogeneity of stable solutions of almost-periodic parabolic equations. It is shown that if the nonlinearity satisfies a concave or convex condition, then any linearly stable almost automorphic solution is spatially-homogeneous; and moreover, the frequency module of the solution is contained in that of the nonlinearity.

Abstract:In this paper we propose new sufficient conditions for stability of solutions of systems of Volterra linear integral equations and systems of linear integro-differential Volterra equations. Solution stability conditions for systems of Volterra linear integral equations are studied with perturbed right hand sides of the equations. These new sufficient conditions are expressed in terms of logarithmic norms of matrices consisting of coefficients of equations and derivatives of their kernels. For integro-differential Volterra equations we also provide sufficient conditions for stability of solutions when the initial conditions are perturbed.

Abstract:Let $2\leq p<\infty$ and $X$ be a complex infinite-dimensional Banach space. It is proved that if $X$ is $p$-uniformly PL-convex, then there is no nontrivial bounded Volterra operator from the weak Hardy space $\mathscr{H}^{\text{weak}}_p(X)$ to the Hardy space $\mathscr{H}^+_p(X)$ of vector-valued Dirichlet series. To obtain this, a Littlewood--Paley inequality for Dirichlet series is established.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with stochastic Volterra equations with singular kernels and Hölder continuous coefficients. We first establish the well-posedness of these equations by utilising the Yamada-Watanabe approach. Then, we aim to characterise the path-independence for additive functionals of these equations. The main challenge here is that the solutions of stochastic Volterra equations are not semimartingales nor Markov processes, thus the existing techniques for obtaining the path-independence of usual, semimartingale type stochastic differential equations are no longer applicable. To overcome this difficulty, we link the concerned stochastic Volterra equations to mild formulation of certain parabolic type stochastic partial differential equations, and further apply our previous results on the path-independence for stochastic evolution equations to get the desired result. Finally, as an important application, we consider a class of stochastic Volterra equations whose kernels are related with fractional Brownian motions and derive the path-independence of additive functionals for them.

Abstract:The main purpose of this work is to provide a novel numerical approach for the Volterra integral equations based on a spectral approach. A Legendre-collocation method is proposed to solve the Volterra integral equations of the second kind. We provide a rigorous error analysis for the proposed method, which indicates that the numerical errors decay exponentially provided that the kernel function and the source function are sufficiently smooth. Numerical results confirm the theoretical prediction of the exponential rate of convergence. The result in this work seems to be the first successful spectral approach (with theoretical justification) for the Volterra type equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a new recurrent sequence in Banach spaces, which is called pseudo ( )-periodic sequence. This notion is the discretized pseudo ( )-periodic function and covers the pseudo -(anti-)peridoic sequence and pseudo ( )-Bloch periodic sequence in Banach spaces. We prove the completeness, convolution and superposition theorems for the pseudo ( )-periodic sequence in abstract spaces. We also consider some existence results for pseudo ( )-periodic sequential solutions to a Volterra difference equation of convolution type in Banach spaces under some different conditions. Some numerical simulations are given to illustrate the existence results.

Numerical results are presented to confirm the theoretical prediction of the exponential rate of convergence.</p>
