Abstract:In this study, the ultraviolet protective properties of the cotton fabrics dyed with natural dyes were investigated. It was observed that cotton fabrics dyed with natural dyes could absorb about 80% of the ultraviolet rays. It was demonstrated that the UV-protective effects were strongly dependent on the absorption characteristics of natural dyes for UV radiation.
