Abstract:An efficient and mild method is reported for the construction of beta-chlorotetrahydrofuran derivatives by 5-endo chlorocycloetherification of homoallylic alcohols. The system employs sulfuryl chloride as the chlorinating agent under catalyst-free conditions. A variety of homoallylic alcohols with aryl or alkyl substituents were smoothly converted into beta-chlorotetrahydrofurans in yields up to 98%.

Abstract:Antimony trichloride (SbCl3) was found to be an effective catalyst (1 mol%) for one-pot synthesis of quinazolin-4(3H)-ones in good to excellent yields using anthranilamide and acyl chlorides under microwave irradiation. This method has the advantages of simplicity, mild reaction conditions, highly tolerant to several functional groups, as well as the avoidance of hazardous solvents.

Abstract:A microwave-assisted condensation of salicylaldehyde and aryl amines without solvent were efficiently performed to form a series of salicylaldimines in high yields, which were confirmed by IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and elemental analyses. The microwave-assisted condensation provided a convenient environmental-friendship methodology for syntheses of Schiff-base in organic syntheses.

Abstract:In this paper, aryldiazo sulfones are prepared from tandem sulfonylation/dehydrogenation reactions of arylhydrazines and sulfonyl chlorides. The transformations proceed well in the presence of catalytic CuSO4 center dot 5H(2)O, leading to aryldiazo sulfones in good to excellent yields. It is believed that this protocol represents a safe and convenient model for the synthesis of these versatile aryldiazo sulfones under mild conditions.

Abstract:This paper describes the synthesis of diaryl ethers and sulfides by utilizing microwave heating methodology. The methodology is shown to be rapid and efficient for the coupling of phenols or thiophenol with electron-deficient aryl halides through a SNAr reaction. The scope of the protocol can be expanded to six-membered heterocycles bearing a hydroxyl group as well as to the reaction of 2-pyrimidinethiol with mildly activated aryl halides, providing heteroaryl ethers and sulfides, respectively. The advantages of the present method include the wide substrate scope, the obviation of metal catalysts, ease of product isolation, and high purity of products.

Abstract:An efficient microwave-assisted and catalyst-free sulfenylation of imidazo[2,1-b]thiazoles with sulfonyl hydrazides has been developed in water. This method is practical and environmental friendly, and can be performed within a short reaction time. The sulfenylation reaction shows high regioselectivity, and excellent functional-group compatibility, giving the desired products in moderate to good yields.

Abstract:Abstract A two-step, diversity-oriented synthesis of highly functionalized benzofuran-2-carboxamides has been developed. The Ugi four-component reaction of aromatic amines, isocyanides, 2-bromobenzaldehyde, and 2-bromoacetic acid was used to provide a collection of N-aryl 2-bromoacetamides. The latter were then reacted with selected salicyladehydes in the presence of Cs2CO3 in acetonitrile under controlled microwave heating at 90–140 °C for 15–40 minutes to furnish the benzofuran-2-carboxamides in moderate to good yields.

Abstract:An efficient and practical method for the synthesis of medicinally important acridines from readily available o-aminoaryl ketones and arylboronic acids was developed using copper(II)-mediated relay reactions that involve intermolecular Chan-Lam cross-coupling and subsequent intramolecular Friedel-Crafts-type reactions. A sole promoter, i.e., Cu(OTf)2, was used; therefore, strongly acidic and basic conditions, nonreadily available or expensive substrates, additives, and noble-metal catalysts were not needed.

Abstract:A green, efficient and simple method for the synthesis of sulfones under combined microwave and ultrasound irradiation was developed. The aromatic methyl phenyl sulfones were synthesized from arylmethyl chlorides and sodium benzenesulfonates in aqueous media under combined microwave and ultrasound irradiation. The effects of microwave power, ultrasonic power, materials molar ratio, substrate concentration and irradiation time were investigated. The optimal conditions for the synthesis of benzyl phenyl sulfone are:microwave power, 40 W; ultrasonic power, 50 W; molar ratio of benzyl chloride and sodium benzene sulfonate, 1∶ 3; reaction time, 5 min. The obtained yield is 83％ under these conditions. Compared with the reaction in oil bath, the reaction was accelerated about 42 times. Twenty three sulfones have been successfully synthesized with broad substrate generality.

Abstract:Diaryl ether moiety is found in a pool of naturally occurring and medicinally important compounds.[1] As a consequent, considerable efforts have been devoted to the assembly of this framework.[2] Recently, we have developed a microwave heating version of the synthesis of diaryl ethers as well as aryl sulfides. Under our conditions, even the extremely electron-poor 4-nitrophenol works well and its reaction with 1-halo-4-nitrobenzenes produces 4-(nitrophenoxy)-benzonitriles in satisfactory yield. The scope of the present protocol has been expanded to hydroxylated six-membered heterocycles as well as 2-pyrimidinethiol with mildly activated aryl halides, affording heteroaryl ethers and respectively sulfides. The advantages of the present method include the wide substrate scope, no use of any metal catalysts, the ease of product isolation and high yields.……

Abstract:An efficient and metal-free approach for the synthesis of sulfilimines from sulfenamides with aryne and cyclohexyne precursors has been developed. The reaction proceeds through unusual S-C bond formation, which offers a novel and practical entry to access a wide range of sulfilimines in moderate to good yields with excellent chemoselectivity. Moreover, this protocol is amenable to gram-scale synthesis and is applicable to the transformation of the products into useful sulfoximines.

Abstract:The fast heating ability of microwave oven was applied in the rapid organic synthesis. In order to investigate the reactivity of sodium phenylsulfinate and halides under microwave irradiation, sodium phenylsulfinate and halides were equably adsorbed on the surface of Al 2O 3 and then irradiated by microwave. The reaction was completed within several minutes to form corresponding sulfones in good yields. Compared with ordinary reaction, the rate of this reaction was greatly enhanced and the reaction time was reduced to 2～7min. Probable mechanism was given in this paper.
