Abstract:A microwave-assisted condensation of salicylaldehyde and aryl amines without solvent were efficiently performed to form a series of salicylaldimines in high yields, which were confirmed by IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and elemental analyses. The microwave-assisted condensation provided a convenient environmental-friendship methodology for syntheses of Schiff-base in organic syntheses.

Abstract:A simple, rapid, and highly efficient method has been developed for the aza-Michael addition of acrylonitrile to 2-aryl-oxymethylbenzimidazole derivatives in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate under microwave irradiation. A series novel of 1-cyanoethyl-2-aryloxymethylbenzimidazole derivatives have been prepared and characterised by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR spectra and elemental analysis.

Abstract:The Schiff bases were prepared with aromatic aldehyde and aromatic amine using cashew shell extract as a catalyst under microwave irradiation. This reaction is rapid, efficient, and solvent-free and involves the one-pot synthesis of Schiff bases under microwave irradiation. The synthesized Schiff bases were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, 13C NMR spectroscopy, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The advantages of the preparation of Schiff bases under microwave irradiation are high yield, shorter reaction time, easy, elimination of side products, and quick product isolation. The synthesized Schiff base derivatives are well known for their biological activity like antibacterial and antifungal activity.

Abstract:We report a microwave-assisted synthetic protocol for the C-S cross-coupling reaction of aryl iodides and 8-mercaptoadenine using CuI and n-Bu4NBr with NaOt-Bu in DMF. The method is rapid, simple, and cost efficient, and leads in high yields to biologically relevant aryl sulfides.

Abstract:[GRAPHICS]A rapid and direct amination of aryl halides has been developed in good to high yields under microwave irradiation without a transition-metal catalyst. This reaction is a particularly powerful method for the coupling of electron-rich aryl halides with various amines. In some cases, the excellent regioselectivity could be observed, which facilitated the preparation of meta-substituted anilines from ortho- or para-substituted phenylhalides. In addition, a mechanism via the interesting benzyne intermediate has been proposed.

Abstract:Abstract A two-step, diversity-oriented synthesis of highly functionalized benzofuran-2-carboxamides has been developed. The Ugi four-component reaction of aromatic amines, isocyanides, 2-bromobenzaldehyde, and 2-bromoacetic acid was used to provide a collection of N-aryl 2-bromoacetamides. The latter were then reacted with selected salicyladehydes in the presence of Cs2CO3 in acetonitrile under controlled microwave heating at 90–140 °C for 15–40 minutes to furnish the benzofuran-2-carboxamides in moderate to good yields.

Abstract:γ-Carbolines were obtained in a simple one-pot Fischer arting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobro-reaction starting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobromide and substituted arylhydrazine hydrochlorides in acidic media under microwave irradiation or by a thermal process. The optimization procedures are reported in detail, and the results from micro-wave processes are compared with conventional ones.

Abstract:A rapid and direct coupling reactions of various N/O/S nucleophilic reagents with aryl halides have been developed in good to high yields under microwave irradiation without a transition-metal catalyst. These reactions are a particularly powerful method for the coupling of electron-withdraw aryl halides with various nucleophilic reagents. A variety of products including aryl ethers, N-arylamides, and aryl thioethers were synthesized in good to excellent yields.

Abstract:Antimony trichloride (SbCl3) was found to be an effective catalyst (1 mol%) for one-pot synthesis of quinazolin-4(3H)-ones in good to excellent yields using anthranilamide and acyl chlorides under microwave irradiation. This method has the advantages of simplicity, mild reaction conditions, highly tolerant to several functional groups, as well as the avoidance of hazardous solvents.

Abstract:A novel, highly efficient, eco-friendly, and quick microwave-assisted synthesis of 2, 4, 5- substituted imidazoles by one-pot cyclo condensation of acenaphthoquinone, aromatic aldehydes, and ammonium acetate was reported under solvent-free conditions using ammonium chloride as a catalyst with excellent yield. The present methodology offers several advantages, such as mild reaction conditions, easy workup, short reaction time, excellent yield, purification of products by the non-chromatographic method, and reproducibility in large-scale synthesis. Compounds were characterized by IR, 1HNMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy and their melting points were compared with the literature reports.

Abstract:The fast heating ability of microwave oven was applied in the rapid organic synthesis. In order to investigate the reactivity of sodium phenylsulfinate and halides under microwave irradiation, sodium phenylsulfinate and halides were equably adsorbed on the surface of Al 2O 3 and then irradiated by microwave. The reaction was completed within several minutes to form corresponding sulfones in good yields. Compared with ordinary reaction, the rate of this reaction was greatly enhanced and the reaction time was reduced to 2～7min. Probable mechanism was given in this paper.
