Abstract:The Zn-II atom in the title complex, [ZnCl2(C8H12N4)], is coordinated by two Cl atoms and three N atoms of the N-[1-(pyrazin-2-yl) ethylidene] ethane-1,2-diamine ligand, and displays a distorted square-pyramidal geometry with the apical position occupied by a Cl atom. In the crystal, intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot Cl and C-H center dot center dot center dot Cl hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional framework.
