Abstract:Amides can be synthesized directly from aldehydes and amines in high yield using a catalyst. The reaction, involving aldehydes and amines, was carried out in a mixture containing choline chloride and aluminum nitrate as a solvent and a catalyst to produce amides. Such catalyst was far more effective compared to other current catalytic systems. The reaction consistently gave exceptionally remarkable results for various aldehyde and amine derivatives under the specified reaction conditions. This method offers several advantages, including easy separation of products, efficiency, environmentally safe nature of the solvent, and elimination of expensive and hazardous catalysts. These features emphasize the importance of such groundbreaking reactions. Due to the significant polar characteristics and insolubility of the resulting products in water, the addition of water into the reaction mixture facilitates the easy separation of the products from the reaction medium. Consequently, this particular ionic liquid method provides a simple route for the synthesis of these important compounds.

Abstract:The direct oxidative N-acylation reaction of primary amides with aryl/alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes was achieved in the presence of azolium salt C3 and an inorganic base using 3,3',5,5'-tetra-tert-butyldipherioquinone as the oxidant, thus providing an efficient approach for the synthesis of three types of imide compounds including N-sulfonylcarboxamides, N-sulfinylcarboxamides, and dicarboxyimides in good yield.

Abstract:An simple, efficient method for the construction of an array of α-ketoamides has been described from readily available O-benzoyl hydroxylamines and diazo compounds as starting materials by the combined use of CuI as a catalyst and H2O as oxygen source. The mechanism research reveals that the O-benzoyl hydroxylamines serve a dual role as both amine source and oxidant, thereby obviating the need for additional oxidants in the transformation process. This methodology could afford a wider range of products in good to excellent yields for most substrates, and provides a new idea for synthesis of α-ketoamide.

Abstract:A novel efficient procedure has been developed for the conjugate addition of amines to electron deficient alkenes. A series of metal oxides was synthesized for catalyzing the conjugate addition of amines and alkenes. After optimizing the reaction conditions, SrO was chosen as the most efficient catalyst for the reactions. The results show that the catalyst is very efficient for the conjugate addition of amines to electron deficient alkenes with the excellent yields in several minutes. Operational simplicity.. without need of any solvent, low cost of the catalyst used, high yields, reusability, excellent chemoselectivity and applicability to large-scale reactions are the key features of this meth odology.

Abstract:Herein, we report a highly efficient ZnI2-triggered oxidative cross-coupling reaction of P(O)-H compounds and amines. This operationally simple protocol provides unprecedented generic access to phosphinic amides/phosphoramidate derivatives in good yields and short reaction time. Besides, the reaction proceeds under mild conditions, which avoids the use of hazardous reagents, and is applicable to scale-up syntheses as well as late-stage functionalization of drug molecules. The stereospecific coupling is also achieved from readily available optically enriched P(O)-H compounds.

Abstract:A sustainable, cyanide-free synthesis of alkyl nitriles via the aerobic oxidative deconstruction of unstrained cycloalkanones with ammonium salts has been developed. Using inexpensive and stable ammonium salts as the nitrogen source, a variety of alkyl nitriles containing a distal carbonyl group were obtained in good yields under visible-light-promoted iron catalysis. This protocol is characterized by mild conditions, abundant and environmentally benign materials, and high atom and step economy with minimal waste generation. The primary mechanism study revealed that 1O2 is likely to be involved in this reaction.

Abstract:The synthesis of amides is a long-term theme in chemistry and related areas. The use of readily available and cost-effective precursors for straightforward amide synthesis with atom economy under mild conditions is attractive yet challenging. Herein, we report the direct synthesis of amides from aldehydes and imines in a 100% atom-economical manner. The redox-neutral C–N bond-forming process was enabled by the dual catalysis of visible light and an N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) at room temperature. This protocol features the unprecedented umpolung of imines to generate N-centered radicals. Mechanistic investigations reveal this reaction undergoes nontrivial radical–radical coupling between an N-centered radical and a C-centered radical to forge a C–N bond. Abstract:Herein, we disclose the metal-free synthesis of arylamines via the direct amination of phenols using aminating reagents. This reaction procedure uses easy accessible aminating reagents and provides a versatile synthetic route to a broad range of arylamines with various functionalities in good to excellent yield. By using a two-step route of amination and oxidative coupling reaction, we synthesized three naturally occurring carbazole alkaloids: murrayafoline A, mukonine, and clausenine from two commercially available phenols.

It involved a nucleophilic addition of imine with Oxone, a similar Baeyer‐Villiger rearrangement and a tautomerization process to afford amides in excellent yield. Abstract:Alkynyl amides play crucial roles in organic synthesis in the production of bioactive compounds and valuable heterocycles. Despite numerous studies on their synthesis, challenges persist due to the necessity of harsh or hazardous conditions and the use of costly or unstable reagents. Herein, we present a one-pot method for the synthesis of all three bonds of the alkyne under transition-metal free conditions. An important feature of this chemistry is the use of readily available feedstock chemicals, such as methyl esters and acetamides. This approach offers efficient access to a wide range of aryl and alkyl alkynyl amides and demonstrates excellent tolerance towards various functional groups in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.

Abstract:Oxidative coupling of methylamines with an aminyl radical to construct amides was developed in the presence of an I-2/TBHP catalyst under acidic conditions via the two cleavages of the sp(3) C-N bond of aryl-methylamines and the sp(2) C-N bond of N-substituted formamides respectively. Abstract:A facile and direct oxidative reaction for the synthesis of vicinal tricarbonyl amides in moderate to excellent yields (53-88%) was developed starting from readily available β-ketoamides in the presence of phenyliodine(III) bis(trifluoroacetate). Abstract:A convenient synthetic approach for the synthesis of alpha-oxo-acetamidines via copper-catalyzed C(sp(3))-H amidination has been developed. This approach allows the direct amidination of three C(sp(3))-H bonds without cyclization.Methyl ketones and primary and secondary amines are tolerant and afford the corresponding products in moderate to good yields. Furthermore, this protocol is also applicable to the synthesis of unsymmetrical alpha-oxo-acetamidines via one-pot, multicomponent reactions (MCRs).

Abstract:An efficient, one-pot strategy with high selectivity and high atom economy for the synthesis of o-aminobenzamides has been developed via palladium-catalyzed ortho-selective C-H oxidative carbonylation of N-substituted anilines with CO and primary amines.
