Abstract:In order to study the extent of coordination between economic development and environment,resources and people's livelihood of the year 2000-2008 in China,a multi-level evaluation index system comprising 4 sub-system,9 items and 112 indexes is set up.The evaluation index system is adopted to conduct two-stage dimension reduction analysis by the methods of principal component analysis and projection pursuit,resulting in transforming the high dimension data to intuitive evaluation values.Based on the final projection function values,this article evaluates the overall coordination of China's economic development of the year 2000-2008,the evaluation results of which show that in recent years favorable developing tendency has emerged in coordinative development of economy in China,and each sub-system has a significant influence on the coordination of economic development.Through further analysis on the development status of each sub-system,it reveals that the items which have greatest influences on environment,resource and livelihood sub-system are discharge and governance of pollution,fossil energy and livelihood in rural regions,respectively.In order to measure the coordination between each sub-system,a new method which has been improved on the basis of the current system coordination evaluation method is proposed.The results show that the coordination between each sub-system of 3 groups of sub-systems,economy-environment,economy-resource,and economy-livelihood,has gradually fallen back,fluctuated and finally stayed stable after rapid increase;the environment,resource and livelihood sub-system are still less developed compared to the economic sub-system.
