Abstract:Using the modulus of smoothness $\omega_{\varphi^{\lambda}}^{2}(f,t)_{\omega}$, direct theorem with Jacobi weights of Baskakov operators is established in this paper; In addition, a weak-type inverse theorem of Baskakov operators is obtained in the weighted norm.

Abstract:An inverse theorem for the best weighted polynomial approximation of a function in$L_{w_\alpha }^p $ (S) is established. We also investigate Besov spaces generated by Freud weight and their connection with algebraic polynomial approximation in$L_p (R)_{W_\lambda } $, wherew α is a Jacobi-type weight onS, 0<p ≤ ∞,S is a simplex andW λ is a Freud weight. For Ditzian-TotikK-functionals onL p(S), 1 ≤p ≤ ∞, we obtain a new equivalence expression.

Abstract:Using the modulus of smoothness with Jacobi weights w(phi lambda)(2)(f, t)w, the relationship between the derivatives Bernstein operators and the smoothness of the function its approximated in the weighted approximation is characterized, an equivalent theorem between Bernstein operators and the modulus of smoothness with Jacobi weights is established. The corresponding results without weights are generalized. In addition, we obtain the direct theorem in the approximation with Jacobi weights by Bernstein operators.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct a class of special Jacobi cocycles, some element of which is a measurable function defined on the high dimensional torus. We prove that no matter the underlying dynamics is the shift or the skew-shift, the non-perturbative positive Lyapunov exponent holds for any irrational frequency, when the coupling number is large. What's more, if the frequency becomes to be the Diophantine number, then the Lyapunov exponent is weak continuity in the energy.

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to introduce moduli of smoothness with Jacobi weights $(1-x)^\alpha(1+x)^\beta$ for functions in the Jacobi weighted $L_p[-1,1]$, $0<p\le \infty$, spaces. These moduli are used to characterize the smoothness of (the derivatives of) functions in the weighted $L_p$ spaces. If $1\le p\le\infty$, then these moduli are equivalent to certain weighted $K$-functionals (and so they are equivalent to certain weighted Ditzian-Totik moduli of smoothness for these $p$), while for $0<p<1$ they are equivalent to certain "Realization functionals".

Abstract:In this paper, we study the local and global theorems for the Baskakov type operators by using Ditzian-Totik moduli omega(phi)(r) lambda(f,t) of r order, where r is an element of N, 0 less than or equal to lambda < 1 and phi is the Baskakov weight function. Both direct and converse theorems are derived. These results bridge the gap between the pointwise conclusions and global conclusions.

Abstract:In this paper, we study multivariate Baskakov operator Bn,d(f,x). We first show that the operator can retain some properties of the original function f, such as monotony, semi-additivity and Lipschitz condition, etc. Secondly, we discuss the monotony on the sequence of multivariate Baskakov operator Bn,d(f,x) for n when the function f is convex. Then, we propose, for estimating the rate of approximation, a new modulus of smoothness and prove the modulus to be equivalent to certain K-functional. Finally, with the modulus of smoothness as metric, we establish a strong direct theorem by using a decomposition technique for the operator.

Abstract:A new Goodman-Sharma modification of the Baskakov operator is presented for approximation of bounded and continuous on $[0,\,\infty)$ functions. In our study on the approximation error of the proposed operator we prove direct and strong converse theorems with respect to a related K-functional. This operator is linear but not positive. However it has the advantage of a higher order of approximation compared to the Goodman-Sharma variant of the Baskakov operator defined in 2005 by Finta.

Abstract:In this paper, we study some properties of the parametric generalization of the Baskakov–Schurer–Szász operators using a power series summability method. We prove some results in the weighted spaces of continuous functions and the Voronovskaya type theorem. Further, we prove some results related to the statistical convergence of the parametric generalization of the Baskakov–Schurer–Szász operators using the B -transformation. At the end of the paper we give some illustrative computational examples.

Abstract:In this paper, we study multivariate approximation defined over weighted anisotropic Sobolev spaces which depend on two sequences ${\bf a}=\{a_j\}_{j\geq1}$ and ${\bf b}=\{b_j\}_{j\geq1}$ of positive numbers. We obtain strong equivalences of the approximation numbers, and necessary and sufficient conditions on ${\bf a}$, ${\bf b}$ to achieve various notions of tractability of the weighted anisotropic Sobolev embeddings.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce and investigate a new class of the parametric generalization of the Baskakov-Schurer-Szász-Stancu operators, which considerably extends the well-known class of the classical Baskakov-Schurer-Szász-Stancu approximation operators. For this new class of approximation operators, we present a Korovkin type theorem and a Grüss-Voronovskaya type theorem, and also study the rate of its convergence. Moreover, we derive several results which are related to the parametric generalization of the Baskakov-Schurer-Szász-Stancu operators in the weighted spaces. Finally, we prove some shape-preserving properties for the parametric generalization of the Baskakov-Schurer-Szász-Stancu operators and, as a special case, we deduce the corresponding shape-preserving properties for the classical Baskakov-Schurer-Szász-Stancu approximation operators.

We consider the Berezin-type operator $S^{t,\alpha,\beta}_{\mu}$ defined by $$S^{t,\alpha,\beta}_{\mu}f(z):=\left(\int_{\mathbb{C}^n}e^{-\frac{\beta}{2}|z-u|^2}|f(u)|^te^{-\frac{\alpha t}{2}|u|^2}d\mu(u)\right)^{1/t},\quad z\in\mathbb{C}^n.$$ We completely characterize the boundedness and compactness of $S^{t,\alpha,\beta}_{\mu}$ from the weighted Fock space $F^p_{\alpha,w}$ into the Lebesgue space $L^q(wdv)$ for all possible indices, where $w$ is a weight on $\mathbb{C}^n$ that satisfies an $A_{\infty}$-type condition. This solves an open problem raised by Zhou, Zhao and Tang [Banach J. Math. Anal. 18 (2024), Paper No. 20]. As an application, we obtain the description of the boundedness and compactness of Toeplitz-type operators acting between weighted Fock spaces induced by $A_{\infty}$-type weights.

Abstract:Given a sequence of Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund inequalities in on a compact space, Gröchenig (J Approx Theory 257:105455, 2020) discussed weighted least squares approximation and least squares quadrature. Inspired by this work, for all , we develop weighted least approximation induced by a sequence of Marcinkiewicz–Zygmund inequalities in on a compact smooth Riemannian manifold with normalized Riemannian measure (typical examples are the torus and the sphere). In this paper we derive corresponding approximation theorems with the error measured in , and least quadrature errors for both Sobolev spaces generated by eigenfunctions associated with the Laplace-Beltrami operator and Besov spaces defined by best "polynomial" approximation. Finally, we discuss the optimality of the obtained results by giving sharp estimates of sampling numbers and optimal quadrature errors for the aforementioned spaces.
