Abstract:Recovery of vanadium and molybdenum from ammonia leaching residue of spent catalyst was investigated by roasting the spent catalyst with soda carbonate, followed by water leaching, purification, solvent extraction and precipitation of V and Mo. In the roasting process, over 90.13% of vanadium and 91.38% of molybdenum could be extracted when a charge containing a sodium carbonate to spent catalyst ratio of 0.15 was roasted at 750°C for 45 min and the roasted mass was leached with water (liquid to solid ratio of 2) at 80°C for 15 min. After purification of the leaching solution, an extraction solvent containing 20% (volume fraction) trialkylamine (N235) and 10% (volume fraction) secondary octyl alcohol dissolved in sulfonated kerosene was used to extract vanadium and molybdenum in leaching solution, the extraction rate of V and Mo could reach 99.22% and 99.80%, respectively; 10% (mass fraction) ammonia water was used as stripping agent, and the content of V and Mo in stripping solution was 2281 g·L-1 and 11863 g·L-1, respectively. Vanadium was precipitated by adding NH4NO3, molybdenum was precipitated by adjusting pH value to 2.0, the purity of prepared V2O5 and MoO3 product was 98.06% and 99.08% respectively. In the whole process, 8728% of vanadium and 89.43% of molybdenum could be recovered.
