Abstract:By studying the structure of fuzzy information and the mechanism of fuzzy optimization, one concept, quasi-linear fuzzy number, is first proposed in this paper. It has been proven that quasi-linear fuzzy number can approach to any form of fuzzy number under L-p-metric. Second, by distinguishing principal indexes and assistant indexes, this paper gives the comparison method of fuzzy information based on synthesizing effect and the description method of fuzzy information on quasi-linear fuzzy number and principal indexes. Third, a new kind of fuzzy genetic algorithm based on quasi-linear fuzzy number is proposed (denoted by BQLFN-FGA). Finally, the results of the example indicate that our proposed algorithm not only possesses good performance and description, but also can effectively merge the decision consciousness with execution process of the algorithm, so it can be applied to any form of fuzzy optimization problems.

Abstract:System of fuzzy equations is a widespread problem in many applied fields, such as production planning, resource management, optimization decision, and so on, and the variation description of fuzzy variables is the bottle neck problem of realizing solution operation. Starting from the structure-feature of fuzzy information and the essential characteristic of fuzzy decision, this paper proposes the concept of quasi-linear fuzzy number, and establishes a solution model based on metric and uncertainty restriction for system of fuzzy equations (denoted by FESM-M+U, for short); further, on the basis of quasi-linear fuzzy number and principle operation strategy, then gives a genetic algorithm named by FGA-QL+PO; finally, considers its convergence using Markov chain theory and analyzes its performance through an example. All these indicate that, FGA-QL+PO can not only effectively reflect decision consciousness, but has good global convergence, and be suitable for all systems of fuzzy equations, so it can be widely used in many problems.

Abstract:Z-number, a new concept describes both the restriction and the reliability of evaluation, is more applicable than fuzzy numbers in the fields of decision making, risk assessment etc. However, how to deal with the restriction and the reliability properly is still a problem which is discussed few and inadequately in the existing literatures. In this paper, firstly, a new improved method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers where the weight of centroid points, degrees of fuzziness and the spreads of fuzzy numbers are taken into consideration is proposed, which can overcome some drawbacks of exiting methods and is very efficient for evaluating symmetric fuzzy numbers and crisp numbers. Then, a procedure for evaluating Znumbers with the method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers is presented, which considers the status of two parts (((A) over tilde,(B) under tilde)) of Z-numbers and gives the principles of ranking Z-numbers. The main advantage of the proposed method is utilization of Z-numbers which can express more vague information compared with the fuzzy number. In addition, instead of converting (B) over tilde to a crisp number as the existing methods of ranking Z-numbers did, the proposed method retains the fuzzy information of (B) over tilde which can reduce the loss of information. Finally, several numerical examples are provided to illustrate the superiority and the rationality of the proposed procedure.

Abstract:Regression analysis, an important branch of statistics, is an effective tool for scientific prediction and management. In this paper, by analyzing the characteristic and weakness of the existing regression methods, using the concept of quasi-linear function with good structure and approximation properties, we establish quasi-linear regression model (denoted by QRM for short). Further we consider the parameter estimation strategy for QRM, propose parameter estimation based on genetic algorithm and the least squares method, do error testing based on residual analysis. Finally, we analyze the performance of the model by an illustrative example. The result indicates that QRM possesses generality and good operability. The regression effect can be satisfied by adjusting the freedom degree of the quasi-linear regression function. Accordingly, it can be widely used in many fields such as artificial intelligence and economic management.

Abstract:In this paper, through theory of fuzzy complex analysis, we introduce some representations of r -cuts of trivial fuzzy zero, nontrivial fuzzy zero and fuzzy complex numbers in polar form on complex plane and establish some of their basic properties. Based on this, the addition and scalar multiplication operations of fuzzy complex numbers are established and the calculus of fuzzy complex-variable functions is studied. Moreover, we introduce a notion of fuzzy Ortigueira fractional derivative of fuzzy complex-variable functions and develop a theory of fuzzy fractional calculus on complex plane including some geometric features. As applications, the existence and uniqueness theorem of solutions for nonlinear fuzzy fractional complex-variable differential equations is established and some examples are provided.

Abstract:This paper further studies the fuzzy rough sets based on fuzzy coverings. We first present the notions of the lower and upper approximation operators based on fuzzy coverings and derive their basic properties. To facilitate the computation of fuzzy coverings for fuzzy covering rough sets, the concepts of fuzzy subcoverings, the reducible and intersectional elements, the union and intersection operations are provided and their properties are discussed in detail. Afterwards, we introduce the concepts of consistent functions and fuzzy covering mappings and provide a basic theoretical foundation for the communication between fuzzy covering information systems. In addition, the notion of homomorphisms is proposed to reveal the relationship between fuzzy covering information systems. We show how large-scale fuzzy covering information systems and dynamic fuzzy covering information systems can be converted into small-scale ones by means of homomorphisms. Finally, an illustrative example is employed to show that the attribute reduction can be simplified significantly by our proposed approach.

Abstract:Motivated by the fact that the fuzzy quasi-normed space provides a suitable framework for complexity analysis and has important roles in discussing some questions in theoretical computer science, this paper aims to study the nearest point problems in fuzzy quasi-normed spaces. First, by using the theory of dual space and the separation theorem of convex sets, the properties of the fuzzy distance from a point to a set in a fuzzy quasi-normed space are studied comprehensively. Second, more properties of the nearest point are given, and the existence, uniqueness, characterizations, and qualitative properties of the nearest points are obtained. The results obtained in this paper are of great significance for expanding the application fields of optimization theory.

Abstract:Since the naissance of the fuzzy set theory in 1965, it has been applied to many areas extensively. In the applications, people are confronted with the interpretation problem of membership functions frequently. Since each person has his/her own opinion about the meaning of a subjective concept, he/she always has his/her own membership function for the same concept. The applications of the theory, for example fuzzy control and fuzzy reasoning, show the robustness of the (more or less) optionally chosen membership functions. This phenomenon probably reflects the inherent characteristics of fuzzy sets. In order to uncover the reason, many researchers have pay attention to the interpretation of membership functions (fuzzy sets). In this paper, from the quotient space theory and fuzzy equivalence relation, a new structural definition of fuzzy set is given. The “isomorphic principle” and “similarity principle” of fuzzy sets, the necessary and sufficient conditions of the “isomorphism” and “ε-similarity” of two fuzzy equivalence relations, and some properties of the new structural definition are discussed. These results may open up some inherent properties of fuzzy sets and provide a new interpretation of the membership functions.

Abstract:Fuzzy programming, a well-known optimization problem in resource allocation and optimization decision etc, has become the hot research in academic circles and many application fields. In this paper, for the numerical fuzzy programming, we propose centralized quantification strategy for processing fuzzy objective function, and further give the concept of synthesizing effect functions for the overall consideration of the objective and constraint; Combing with fuzzy inequity degree and genetic algorithm, we establish numerical fuzzy programming model (denoted by BSE ID-FGM for short); Finally, we analyze the characteristic and effectiveness of this method through an example. All the results indicate that our method has better structural feature, and can effectively merge the decision preferences into the solution in quantification ways.

Abstract:In the study of the classical approximation and optimization problems, the dual method is a powerful tool. The present paper initiates the problems of the duality for best approximation in fuzzy quasi-normed spaces. It gives the characterization of the nearest points, and extends the well-known Arzela formula for the distance from a point to a hyperplane in a normed space to the case of a fuzzy quasi-normed space. The obtained notions and results show the validity of dual method in the study of best approximation for fuzzy quasi-normed spaces, and will play an important role in the research of this domain.

Abstract:A stability result on linear time-varying systems is proposed at the beginning, by which and the TS model the stability analysis and design of a class of fuzzy control system are presented. Contract to the existed method, the new method can utilize fully the information from the operator and reduce time cost. Furthermore, it keeps away the difficulty to find a common matrix for all subsystems and waste to identify repeat, and keep over some hypotheses which are not necessary such that the new system can be applied in more wide range.

Abstract:This paper proposes an approach to fuzzy rough sets in the framework of lattice theory. The new model for fuzzy rough sets is based on the concepts of both fuzzy covering and binary fuzzy logical operators (fuzzy conjunction and fuzzy implication). The conjunction and implication are connected by using the complete lattice-based adjunction theory. With this theory, fuzzy rough approximation operators are generalized and fundamental properties of these operators are investigated. Particularly, comparative studies of the generalized fuzzy rough sets to the classical fuzzy rough sets and Pawlak rough set are carried out. It is shown that the generalized fuzzy rough sets are an extension of the classical fuzzy rough sets as well as a fuzzification of the Pawlak rough set within the framework of complete lattices. A link between the generalized fuzzy rough approximation operators and fundamental morphological operators is presented in a translation-invariant additive group.

Abstract:There are some drawbacks to arithmetic and logic operations of general discrete fuzzy numbers, which limit their application. For example, the result of the addition operation of general discrete fuzzy numbers defined by the Zadeh's extension principle may not satisfy the condition of becoming a discrete fuzzy number. In order to solve these problems, special discrete fuzzy numbers on countable sets are investigated in this paper. Since the representation theorem of fuzzy numbers is the basic tool of fuzzy analysis, two kinds of representation theorems of special discrete fuzzy numbers on countable sets are studied first. Then, the metrics of special discrete fuzzy numbers on countable sets are defined, and the relationship between these metrics and the uniform Hausdorff metric (i.e., supremum metric) of general fuzzy numbers is discussed. In addition, the triangular norm and triangular conorm operations (t-norm and t-conorm for short) of special discrete fuzzy numbers on countable sets are presented, and the properties of these two operators are proven. We also prove that these two operators satisfy the basic conditions for closure of operation and present some examples. Finally, the applications of special discrete fuzzy numbers on countable sets in image fusion and aggregation of subjective evaluation are proposed.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a notion of complex compact intervals on which Minkowski addition and scalar multiplication operators are well defined to form the space of complex fuzzy numbers whose α -cuts are complex intervals. Some basic fuzzy partial ordering relations among the complex numbers with " ≤C ", the complex intervals with "≪", the complex fuzzy numbers with " ⪯C ̃ " and the discrete fuzzy complex-valued functions with ≲ are studied. Based on these fundamental properties, we introduce a concept of Caputo fractional sum and difference for the discrete fuzzy complex-valued functions and establish some of their basic results. Moreover, by introducing the complex monotone iterative technique combined with the method of upper and lower solutions, the existence of extremal solutions for discrete complex fuzzy Caputo fractional difference equations is investigated. In each section, several examples are presented to show the feasibility of our obtained results.
