Abstract:With the rapid growth of Internet, the structures and resolutions of Internet namespaces are facing with new challenges. IP address is overloaded in semantics because it is used to represent both the location and the identity of a device. The namespace resolution system DNS can't satisfy many new application demands with its unique service model, slow update speed, and weak capability in resource description. Many network middleboxes, such as NAT, various agents and firewalls, also destroy the Internet architecture and the Internet namespaces. Based on these, researchers bring forth many solutions to improve the structures and resolutions of Internet namespaces. This paper analyzes the problems in the structures and resolutions of current Internet namespaces, and then makes categories, surveys, and comparisons on the improvement solutions to them. Finally, future research trends on this area are discussed.

Abstract:The Mobile Internet is an integrated product of the traditional internet and mobile communications, and represents one of the most rapidly growing IT fields for the current and a long period of time.However, data show that the global mobile internet is still in its infancy, there exist many problems to be solved and clarified.This paper first outlines the basic concept of the mobile internet, including its definition, features, and architecture.Then, based on the current architecture, we discussed in detail the research status, problems, and solutions of its various components, including mobile terminals, access network, applications and services, as well as security and privacy.Finally, future research and development trends of cloud computing were discussed.

Abstract:After over forty years' development in an extraordinary speed, the Internet is confronting profoundly different social and economic environments, with the continuously increasing users demands. However, the essence and key designs of the current Internet have remained untouched during the past decades. Over the same years, Internet users have been calling for a better Internet that features significantly improved flexibility, security, mobility and manageability etc. Entering the twenty-first century, researchers from major economies have paid considerable attention to the design and evaluation of the Future Internet, supported by national large-scale efforts such as FIND (Future Internet Design)([1]) in U. S., FIRE (Future Internet Research & Experimentation)([2]) in EU, AKARI in Japan as well as other research programs. Recognizing the significance of those four expected features mentioned before, this paper states a review of major, significant research programs of the Future Internet and presents a brief indication of possible trends in this field.

Abstract:The Internet has become a major part of the global communications infrastructure supporting modern-day socio-economic development, social progress and technological innovation. Invented 30 years ago, today the Internet is facing severe challenges. Many countries have funded research projects on the new-generation Internet, such as GENI, FIND, FIRE and CNGI, in an effort to solve these challenges. In addition, over the past few years, the networking research community has engaged in an ongoing conversation about how to move the Internet forward, and there are now two different approaches towards Internet research. The first approach is based on using the existing Internet architecture to solve the major technical challenges-this is called 'evolutionary' research. The other, which is called the 'clean slate', involves the design of an entirely new Internet architecture. In the first part of this paper, the basic features of the next generation Internet and its principal contradictions are analysed. Then a survey of recent progress in the study of the next generation Internet in China is discussed. Finally, the focus and direction for the next step in research are presented as based on fundamental research into the international next generation Internet architecture, and the many new innovative demands placed on Internet architecture in recent years.

Abstract:As the demands on the size,functionality,performance and other aspects of Internet keep increasing,current Internet which using IPv4 as the core technology is facing severe technical challenges.In recent years,next-generation Internet and its applications has gained the particular concerns of many countries,and the developed countries have launched the national next-generation Internet research projects intended to seize the core technology of future Internet.National Basic Program of China(973 Program) Research of Future Internet Architecture,after nearly five years of research,made the preliminary findings in exploring the basic issues of new-generation Internet architecture: Refined four basic scientific questions of new-generation Internet architecture,preliminarily proposed multi-dimension scalable architecture of new-generation Internet and its basic elements,extended in-depth study of new-generation Internet architecture to the expansion of five multi-dimension aspects,such as the scale-scalability based on IPv6,performance-scalability based on scalable exchange node,security-scalability based on authentic IPv6 addressing,function-scalability based on 4over6 mechanism,and service-scalability based on end-to-end connectionless Quality-of-Service control.These five basic elements will form the basis of new-generation Internet.

Abstract:Wireless and mobile networks represent an active research and new technology development area. In this paper we analyze wireless network and discuss the applications of wireless technology. To fully support mobility, a next generation Internet must provide ways to name and route to a much richer set of network elements than just attachment points. It should support routing in terms of names, which identify the actual desired end points, rather than some particular characteristic, such as an address. A new architecture should provide data cleansing mechanisms that prevent corrupted data from propagating through the wireless network.
Implementation of Network Real-name System in China

Abstract:The virtual nature,as well as the practice of anonymous system,results in internet crime and anomie,which does harm to people's legal right,social harmony,and the national interest.Using the real name system to regulate the internet access is an efficient way to promote people's self-discipline against internet crime.Korea is one of the most successful countries that use the real name system for internet access.Their experience could be a good reference.It is also pointed out in this paper that China should make related law before using the real name system.An indirect real name system is recommended to carry out gradually to some websites technically ready.

Abstract:A Web resource refers to a file, or some files (maybe with directory or subdirectories) which represent a certain thing, meaning or entity, and are worthy of treasure in the long term. Web resources, such as e-books, learning materials or songs, can provide various contents to digital libraries, educational repositories or other digital collections. However, Web resources are characterized as chaotic naming, which have obstructed the searching and organizing to them. We inspect web resource naming conventions and user behavior characteristics using statistical methods based on 16,284 resources. The data set consisting of about 61 thousand files had been continually gathered on the Web from 2003 to 2006. In this paper, we study the distributions of the length of resource names, subdirectory names, and file names; the entropy of the character types; high occurrence of symbols in the names; high-frequency snippet styles and semantic types. These analyses reveal the disorderly naming conventions of the Internet users. The results we concluded will help both purify and extract useful information from chaos names for better retrieval, as well as illustrating the user behaviors when sharing and spreading web resources in the Internet.

Abstract:Named data networking（NDN）proposed as a new future architecture for the internet, aims to satisfy the requirement of information sharing among the users. NDN applies the hierarchical names to identify contents, route packets and retrieve information. Given the massive amount of contents and the longest prefix matching principle, achieving high speed name lookup exhibits a big challenge to implement NDN in real networks. The technical challenges of name lookup were firstly analyzed, then the main techniques to achieve wire-speed name lookup and their corresponding research results were introduced.

Abstract:The current Internet, which is based on TCP/IP architecture, exposed its inherent shortcomings increasingly in recent years, such as: network management is difficult to deploy, network security issues become more serious, "best effort forwarding" strategy cannot provide QoS that a user needs, and new applications are difficult to deploy, etc. All of these problems cannot be resolved satisfactorily by "putting-patch" way. It is time to redesign and reconstruct the architecture of Internet. Now some new design ideas about future Internet architecture have been put forward. In this paper, some representatives of these ideas are introduced, and their advantages and defects are analyzed. After these analyses, the possible direction for future Internet design in our opinion is pointed out.

Abstract:Current Internet is now facing multiple challenges because of the continuously extending scale and the ever-increasing demands.Especially,information(content) sharing applications such as WWW and P2P have brought tremendous pressure to the Internet and severely affected user experiences,while the ISPs(Internet Server Providers) could do nothing about it.How to make changes on network architectures,protocols and service models to cope with these challenges will be the major trend in future Internet research.Starting from a brief review of the history of Web and statistics of Internet applications,two types of research approaches,namely evolutionary and revolutionary approaches,were presented respectively.Duplicate transmission of same contents consumes large part of bandwidth,thus saving bandwidth and improving the efficiency of content distribution should be the optimization objectives of future Internet research.An on-going project called "asymmetric network architecture for ubiquitous information sharing" was also introduced.This work shows the authors’ vision towards future Internet,that is,the Internet should be able to support information sharing services in a more intelligent and efficient way without bringing heavy traffic.

Secure Name Resolution for Identifier-to-Locator Mappings in the Global Internet

Abstract:A recent trend in clean-slate network design has been to separate the role of identifiers from network locators. An essential component to such a separation is the ability to resolve names into network addresses. One challenge facing name resolution is securing the name resolution service. This paper examines the security of a clean-slate name resolution service suitable for mobile networking. We begin with a high-level threat analysis, and identify several types of attacks that may be used against name resolution services. We then present secure protocols that together form a secure global name resolution service. Specifically, we present a secure update protocol that allows users to update their network addresses as they migrate and that includes several checkpoints that prevents spoofing, collusion, stale identifiers and false identifier announcements. Since the primary function behind a name resolution service is to respond to address-lookup queries, we also present a secure query protocol. Finally, we address the security risks associated with IP holes that can arise in a global name resolution service.

Abstract:Domain Name System (DNS) is one of the most crucial components of the Internet. However, due to the vulnerability of DNS, its security has been continuously challenged in recent years. In order to thoroughly understand the root cause of the security risks in the DNS, researches in DNS security are surveyed, and vulnerabilities in DNS and corresponding countermeasures are summarized. First, based on the protocol design and implementation of DNS, weaknesses in DNS fall into 5 categories: cache poisoning, denial of service, software vulnerabilities, information leakage and unauthorized data manipulation. Then, fundamental properties and defense approaches for the 5 categories are analyzed. Next, to improve the Internet name service, new secure DNS architectures are analyzed and compared. And finally, future aspects of research in DNS security are discussed.
