Abstract:The area economy has a great effect to the China's development. Beilun mold is a special trade. It faces a lot of questions like how to develop mold industry and what puzzledom the enterprise being meet. The paper has studied some typical mold companys of NingBo BeiLun. The main focus is on the industry chain and technology chain. Some conclusion is gained and it point out the direction of mold enterprise now and future. The conclusion also provide some reference to the government's policy making.

Abstract:Based on hydrodynamics heat transfer theory and finite difference method, applying AnyCasting simulation software and remains melt module to forecast faults of shrinkage cavity and shrinkage porosity, applying certainty simulation method to simulate micro-scale structure. This paper combines macro-scale simulation with micro-scale simulation and realize multi-scales simulation. This simulation method can conduct die structure optimization, and reduce repeat die repair and waste of die trial energy, and improve rate of finished product.

Abstract:Taking the casting of tensile sample and impact sample both made of magnesium alloy as the research object,various processing parameters of the thick-wall die-cast samples were analyzed.With the help of foundry CAE technology,the ingate sectional area and various speed parameters were optimized and the effect of cooling water system and ingate velocity on solidifying defects was simulated by using square graph of PQ and wave model of liquid metal.And the size and location of porosities and shrinks were exposed.The problem of reasonable selection of processing parameters of thick-wall die-casting was solved.

Abstract:Driven by the target of carbon neutrality, the vehicle industry is striving to implement energy conservation and emission reduction (ECER). Aluminum (Al) alloy, which is an effective ECER solution, is the dominant lightweight material for vehicles. Nearly 60% of vehicle Al components are produced by die casting (DC), which can achieve a 30-50% weight reduction. However, Al DC is highly energy intensive and environmentally polluting. It is necessary to assess the life cycle ECER effects of vehicle Al die castings (DCs). However, the existing research weakly supports this assessment, particularly in the manufacturing stage. In addition, the effective implementation of ECER for Al DC is crucial but lacks attractive measures. To bridge these gaps, a system boundary is first defined, including three scenarios: high-pressure DC, high-vacuum DC, and semi-solid DC. A detailed process division and data description are introduced. Then, a thorough inventory analysis is conducted with an in-depth investigation and on-site data collection. Finally, a more representative and configurable inventory compared to existing studies and life cycle assessment databases is provided. It is revealed that the energy consumption in the manufacture of structural DCs is nearly 80% larger than that of box-type DCs. High-vacuum DC and semi-solid DC can reduce the total energy by 3.5% and 9.9%, respectively. Several targeted ECER measures are proposed with intensive analyses and surveys. In addition, the sensitivity of specific Al DCs to the developed inventory is discussed, as are the suggested measures considering energy generation.

Abstract:Taking an aluminum alloy gearbox of an automobile as an example, according to its structural characteristics, the parting surface was determined, and the initial gating system was designed by using 3D modeling software UG. Based on Magmasoft software, the numerical simulation of the filling and solidification process was carried out to determine the best gating system scheme. The cooling system and core pulling structure were designed, and the parameter design process of the aluminum alloy gearbox shell in the die-casting process was introduced. Aiming at the leakage problem of the gearbox shell in the bench and road test after assembly, the cause was found through numerical simulation and industrial CT analysis, and the problem was solved by adding high-pressure point cooling at the corresponding position of the leakage, and the correctness of the optimization was verified. It provides an effective method for the die-casting production of the transmission housing and the analysis and solution of product defects, which improves the product quality and shortens the production cycle.

Abstract:The demand for aluminum products is expected to continually increase. Die casting is an important technology for processing aluminum products. It is energy-intensive and its melting and holding sub-processes consume large amounts of energy, but in low energy efficiency. Therefore, improving their energy efficiency can significantly reduce energy costs and environmental impact. Based on an in-depth field survey of die casting factories, two obstacles hindering the melting and holding energy efficiency improvement were identified: 1) the determination of optimal furnace operation parameters in the production planning stage, and 2) the timely adjustment of furnace operation parameters when an incident occurs in the production stage. An Internet of Things-enabled model-based approach, including a parameter optimization model and energy-aware incident control strategy, was proposed to address these two issues. The proposed approach was validated in a die casting factory. Optimizing the furnace melting rate and maximum holding height saved 5%–9% cost, product stock was reduced by approximately 3.6% with the online adjustment of the furnace melt-stoppage time, and holding energy consumption was reduced by approximately 2% with the online control of the furnace standby mode. It was revealed that the practical value of the proposed approach was significant for industrial applications.

Abstract:In the general environment of lightweight automobiles, the integrated die-casting technology proposed by Tesla has become the general mode to better achieve weight reduction in automobiles. The die-casting mold required by integrated die-casting technology has the characteristics of large scale and complexity. Hence, higher requirements are put forward for the comprehensive performance of the die steel. Despite the stagnation in the progress of conventional strengthening methods, enhancing the performance of die steel has become increasingly challenging. Indeed, it necessitates exploring novel die steel and optimizing heat treatment and reinforcement technologies. This article summarizes and analyzes the development status of die steel and corresponding heat treatment and microstructure manipulation as well as strengthening methods and elaborates on an excellent nano-strengthening technology. Furthermore, this review will aid researchers in establishing a comprehensive understanding of the development status of die steel and the processes utilized for its strengthening. It will also assist them in developing die steel with improved comprehensive performance to meet the high demand for mold steel in the integrated die-casting technology of the new era.

Abstract:High pressure die casting is a high volume component manufacturing process which is used extensively in many aspects. There are many factors affecting the quality of die-casting die. In this paper, the CAE simulations of filling and solidification processes for die-casting are studied. Numerical analyses are presented for two practical die-casting parts using HZ CAE software. The temperature distributions and filling states in solidification and filling process are presented. Then the deficiencies of the part are predicted. Based on the analyzing results, the structures of the two dies are optimized and longer die service life and high-quality castings are obtained. It is proved that CAE simulation results can offer a helpful reference for die-casting die design.

Abstract:The hot forging die for automobile axle flange was precisely cast with new type of Cr-Mo-V cast die steel.The design of die structure and heat treatment process was improved.The results show that the life and stability of the die elevates;the failure mode tends to rationality,the phenomenon of brittle fracture removes;the life of the die reaches 6000～8000 times,which can meet the requirements of industrial production.

Part 1 shows general information of Chinese foundry industry, for example, total output change, total enterprise and employee numbers etc, the total castings output of China in 2005 is 24,420,000 tons ,it makes up 28.5% of the global sum.; Part 2 demonstrates different kinds castings output of Chinese foundry industry; Part 3 presents geographic distribution character of Chinese foundry industry, Chinese foundry industry mainly concentrate on 5 regions,that is Liaoning province,Shandong province, the Yangtze River delta, the Pearl River delta and Shanxi province,about half castings output of China comes from the 5 regions ; Part 4 analyses existed problems of Chinese foundry industry ; Part 5 forecasts future development of Chinese foundry industry,in next 10 years,Chinese foundry industry will still grow rapidly.

Abstract:Based on the review of current status and development of casting CNC manufacturing technology, this paper analyzes the characteristics and studies the mechanism of casting CNC cutting, along with the processing technique. A new casting CNC forming equipment is developed and successfully applied to the product development in automobile industry, mechanical industry and so on, which is regarded as a typical application case. Research indicates that patternless casting CNC manufacturing is a technical renovation compared to the traditional casting manufacturing, with traits of green, digital, flexibility, precision, rapidity. It’s applicable to the rapid manufacturing of metal casting either in single piece or small lot, and the pattern is unneeded. This new technology brings a promising application future in the automobile and mechanical equipment industries.
