On Bonhoeffer'S Christ-Event And Its Significance For Sino-Christian Theology

Abstract:This paper elaborates Dietrich Bonhoeffer's concept of theology from the perspective of the Christ-event so as to criticize the Sino-Christian theology which has been done by those Sino-Christian academic researchers. Bonhoeffer constructs his theology in terms of limit or boundary which is revealed in Christ, the "God for Us". Bonhoeffer's theology of limit or boundary always focuses on the essential issue of "Who is Christ". This means that Sino-Christian Theology should not neglect the issue of "Who". Any academic research of Christian theology that avoids this issue cannot be real theology. While the humanistic approach of Sino-Christian academic research ignores the issue of "Who", it actually ignores the soteriological relationships of the "God for Us". Furthermore, this would not help us to understand the real significance of theological objectivity, i.e. listening and transmitting the Divine Word.
