Abstract:We demonstrate a high-power red-green-blue laser source based on the quasi-phase-matching and intermittent oscillating dual-wavelength laser technique. A cascaded LiTaO3 superlattice was used to achieve the generation of red light at 660 nm, green light at 532 nm, and blue light at 440 nm to obtain the output of red-green-blue laser light from a diode-side-pumped Q-switched intermittent oscillating dual-wavelength Nd:YAG laser. The average output power of red-green-blue of 1.01 W was achieved under the total fundamental power of 5.1 W, which corresponds to the conversion efficiency of 20%.

Abstract:A LiTaO3 optical superlattice with a cascaded structure was used for frequency doubling and tripling of the dual-wavelength output of a Nd:YAG laser. 780 mW of red light, 146 mW of green light and 84 mW of blue light were obtained, which combined 1.01 W of quasi-white light power.

Abstract:We report a quasi-white-light laser, which was generated by an all-solid-state laser technique. The approach is to use a cascaded optical superlattice in a LiTaO3 crystal to directly frequency double and triple a diode-pumped, Q-switched dual-wavelength Nd:YVO4 laser. Three primary color lights, red at 671nm, green at 532nm, and blue at 447nm, were simultaneously generated in a proper proportion, forming a quasicontinuous, quasi-white-light laser with a maximum output power of 530mW under a pump power of 18W. From the result, a more effective quasi-white-light output can be anticipated if the superlattice is fabricated in a stoichiometric LiTaO3 crystal and the double resonant technique is further optimized.

Abstract:We present a high power red-green-blue (RGB) laser light source based on cascaded quasi-phasematched wavelength conversions in a single stoichiometric lithium tantalate. The superiority of the experimental setup is: the facula of the incident beam is elliptical to increase interaction volume, and the cavity was an idler resonant configuration for realizing more efficient red and blue light output. An average power of 2 W of quasi-white-light was obtained by proper combination of the RGB three colors. The conversion efficiency for the power of the quasi-white-light over pump power reached 36%. This efficiency and powerful RGB laser light source has potential applications in laser-based projection display et al.

Abstract:A compact, pulsed, red, green, and blue laser source based on cascaded quasi-phase-matched wavelength conversion in two periodic superlattices set in tandem in a single stoichiometric LiTaO3 crystal and pumped by a laser source at 532nm is reported. The white light equivalent flux obtained was 80lmper1W input with a green to white light power conversion efficiency of >30%. Unity power conversion is feasible in this monolithic approach.

Abstract:In this paper, we report how to realize an all-solid-state laser with an efficient dual-wavelength red and green light output by temperature tuning. This laser is constructed with a nonlinear crystal and a diode-pumped, Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser as the fundamental source with the dual-resonance wavelengths at 1342 and 1064 nm. The nonlinear crystal is a specially designed superlattice that is able to achieve quasi-phase-matched frequency doubling of 1342 and 1064 mn at two phase-matching temperatures. Using this scheme, 520 mW red light and 332 mW green light are generated at 118.5degreesC and 113degreesC, respectively, from two moderate fundamental powers with an efficiency of around 25-30%. The results provide a possible scheme for obtaining multi-wavelength output from a mono-laser by only adjusting the operating temperature.
Generation of Red and Blue Laser from Green Pump Laser in Quasi-Periodic Optical Superlattice

Abstract:The red light at 666 nm and the blue light at 443 nm were obtained simultaneously by quasi-phase matching from a quasi-periodic LiTaO3 optical superlattice using a ps 532 nm laser as a pump through two cascaded nonlinear processes, a quasi-phase matched parametric generation and a quasi-phase matched sum-frequency process. The former process was used to get the red signal and the infrared idle light, meanwhile, the latter was to get the blue light by the sum of the pump and idle light. The two processes were phase-matched by two reciprocal vectors of the same optical superlattice. The pump's pulse width is 40 ps with a repetition of 10 Hz. The power of the red light is 0.15 mW and the blue 16.6 μW under the average pump power of 0.5 mW, corresponding to the conversion efficiency of 34.0% and 3% respectively. The result shows a new technical approach to obtain three primary colors.

Abstract:Passively Q-switched green output with Cr 4+ :YAG as saturable absorber and PPMgLN as the frequency doubling crystal was realized in a compact diode end-pumped Nd:YVO 4 laser. The green light output power, pulse width, pulse repetition rate, pulse energy and peak power with three Cr 4+ :YAG of different initial transmissions were investigated. The maximum average output power was 1.2 W at the pump power of 4.0 W and the maximum conversion efficiency was 30% with the Cr 4+ :YAG of 90% initial transmission. The maximum pulse energy and minimum pulse width were 10.9 μJ and 12 ns with the Cr 4+ :YAG of 75% initial transmission.

Abstract:1W quasi-white-light source has been generated from a single lithium tantalate with cascaded domain modulation. The quasi-white-light is combined by proper proportion of the red, green and blue laser light. The red and the blue result from a compact self-sum frequency optical parametric oscillation when pumped by a single green laser. The efficiency of quasi-white-light from the green pump reaches 27%. This compact design can be employed not only as a stable and powerful RGB light source but also an effective blue laser generator.

Abstract:We report on a noncollinear red-green-blue (RGB) laser light source using a two-dimensional nonlinear photonic quasicrystal. The red and blue lights result from a green light pumped optical parametric generation process cascading two frequency doubling processes in a single-pass setup. Together with the residual green light, two sets of RGB lights were observed in a wide temperature range, which indicates a practical method for constructing a compact multiwavelength laser light source. Abstract:An efficient generation of red light in a periodically-poled nearly-stoichiometric LiTaO3 (PPSLT) by extracavity single-pass frequency doubling of a diode-pumped, Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser at 1342nm was realized. An average power of 1.4W of the 671nm red light is obtained at the fundamental power of ∼2.8W with the conversion efficiency of 50%. The high conversion efficiency and steady output of red light indicate that the thick PPSLT is a competitive candidate for frequency conversion in order to construct a compact all-solid-state red laser.

Abstract:A diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG dual-wavelength laser operating at 1319 and 1338 nm is demonstrated. The maximum average output power of the quasi-continuous wave linearly polarized dual-wavelength laser is obtained to be 2.1 W at a repetition rate of 50 kHz with an output power instability of less than 0.38% and beam quality factor M(2) of 1.45. Using the two lines, the highly coherent and narrow linewidth terahertz radiation of 3.23 THz can be generated in an organic 4-N, N-dimethylamino-methyl-stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) crystal. Meanwhile, the multi-wavelength red laser at 659.5, 664 and 669 nm is generated by frequency doubling and sum frequency processes in a lithium triborate (LBO) crystal. The average red laser output power is enhanced up to 1.625 W at a repetition rate of 15 kHz with an output power instability of better than 0.53% and beam quality factor M(2) of 6.05. Using the three lines, it is possible to generate the multi-wavelength THz radiation of 3.3, 3.43 and 6.73 THz in an appropriate difference frequency crystal.

Abstract:The generation of 489 nm blue light by direct frequency doubling a CW 978 nm InGaAs diode laser radiation was demonstrated in optical superlattice LiNbO/sub 3/ crystals at room temperature. When the incident power was 150, 1.35 mW and 1.0 mW blue lights were achieved in the samples with and without an enhancement cavity, respectively.

Abstract:We demonstrate the efficient generation of red light at 671 nm and blue light at 447nm from a diode-pumped Q-switched 1342nm Nd:YVO4 laser together with a periodically poled LiTaO3 (PPLT) crystal. The sample used in this experiment is a dual-structure PPLT crystal with the period of 14.9 mum for the second harmonic generation and that of 4.9 mum for the third harmonic generation. The red and blue light, with the respective average power of 752 mW and 153 mW were obtained in a single path under an average fundamental power of 1.74 W, corresponding to the conversion efficiencies of 43.2% and 8.8%, respectively. These results indicate that the dual-structure PPLT can be used to construct a compact and efficient all-solid-state red-and-blue dual-wavelength laser.

Abstract:Abstract This paper proposes a blue LD pumping Pr:YLF crystal acousto-optic Q-switched double pulse laser with 639 nm red light output. The output principle of the Pr:YLF double pulse laser is demonstrated, and a four level differential rate equation model is established to describe the distribution of the double pulse sequence at a high repetition frequency. When the laser repetition frequency is 10 kHz, the double step signal generator, as the modulator of the acousto-optic Q-switching, turns on the Q-switching twice in one pumping period, and obtains the maximum output power of 144 mW, pulse energy of 7.1 μ J and the output of visible light double pulse with the pulse interval of 20 μ s.

Abstract:The continuous-wave and acousto-optical Q-switched pulse laser properties of diode-pumped Nd:YAG crystal operating at 946nm formed with a simple plane–plane cavity have been studied. Extra-cavity single-pass quasi-phase matching (QPM) frequency doubling with periodically poled LiTaO3 (PPLT) as the nonlinear crystal yielded a maximum output power of 66mW at 473nm with an overall optical to optical efficiency of 14.2% from 946 to 473nm. Our result proves that this scheme is of practical value for the construction of a blue all-solid-state laser.

Abstract:High power red light was generated from a periodically-poled stoichiometric LiTaO3 (PPSLT) by single-pass frequency doubling of a diode-side-pumped, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 1319 nm. An average power of 2.4 W of the 660 nm red light was obtained at the fundamental power of ∼5.4 W with the conversion efficiency up to 44.4% and with low fluctuation down to 2%. The high efficiency and stability at the red output indicate that it is a practical method to construct a reliable compact red laser.

Abstract:We report in this work a continuous wave (CW) narrowband 589 nm light generation for the purpose of laser guide assisted adaptive optics. A 39 mm long 1 mm thick periodically poled near stoichiometric LiTaO 3 crystal with duty cycle near 50% was fabricated using electrical poling at room temperature and pumped by a Raman fiber amplifier. We tested two temperature control ovens, and a maximum conversion efficiency of about 14.3%, corresponding to 4 W of yellow light with 28 W of fundamental power, and bandwidth less than 0.18 GHz was achieved.
