Abstract:This paper considers the stability and L2-gain for a class of switched neutral systems with time-varying discrete and neutral delays. Some new delay-dependent sufficient conditions for exponential stability and weighted L2-gain are developed for a class of switching signals with average dwell time. These conditions are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and are derived by employing free weighting matrices method. As a special case of such switching signals, we can obtain exponential stability and normal L2-gain under arbitrary switching signals. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Abstract:The stability analysis and L 2 ‐gain for a class of switched neutral systems with all unstable subsystems are investigated in this paper. By constructing the discretized multiple Lyapunov‐Krasovskii functional and resorting to the time‐driven switching signals, sufficient conditions for exponential stability and weighted L 2 ‐gain are developed for a class of switched neutral systems, where all subsystems are unstable. It should be pointed out that all the Lyapunov‐Krasovskii functional energies are allowed to increase during the running intervals of the active subsystems. Furthermore, all the conditions are formulated in forms of a set of linear matrix inequalities which can be easily solved by using the recently developed interior point method. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:Exponential stability and non-weighted L-2-gain are studied for switched neutral systems with unstable subsystems. Initially, a time scheduling strategy is introduced to formulate switching-signal-based multiple discontinuous Lyapunov functions. Multiple discontinuous Lyapunov functions can be applied to each subsystem, thereby relaxing the limitations of traditional Lyapunov functions. Meanwhile, mode-dependent average dwell times are utilised to design fast and slow switching signals, ensuring stability in switched neutral systems where the switching between unstable and stable subsystems is arbitrary. Moreover, in the presence of external disturbances, the non-weighted L-2-gain performance is discussed. Sufficient conditions are proposed to achieve the stability of switched neutral systems and non-weighted L-2-gain performance using the linear matrix inequality method. The validity of this study is ultimately demonstrated through simulation examples.

Abstract:This paper considers the robust stability of a class of switched neutral systems with discrete time-varying delay and time-varying structure. Sufficient conditions for exponential stability criteria are developed for arbitrary switching signal with average dwell time. The results are obtained based on Lyapunov’s stability analysis via Krasovsky–Lyapunov’s functionals and the related stability study is performed to obtain delay-dependent results. It is proved that the stabilizing switching rule is arbitrary if all the switched subsystems are exponentially stabile. These conditions are delay-dependent and are given in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Some examples are worked out to illustrate the effectiveness of the result.

Abstract:The global exponential stability for switched neutral systems with time-varying delays and nonlinear perturbations is investigated in this paper. LMI-based delay-dependent criterion is proposed to guarantee exponential stability for our considered systems under any switched signal. Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and Leibniz-Newton formula are applied to find the stability results. Free weighting matrix and linear matrix inequality (LMI) approaches are used to solve the proposed conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, problems of stability and L2-gain for switched systems with time-varying delay and disturbance input are studied. Some subsystems can be unstable. By using an average dwell time approach incorporated with a piece-wise Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions for exponential stability and weighted L2-gain of such systems, where not all subsystems are stable, are obtained in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). It is shown that if the total activation time of stable subsystems is to some extent more than that of unstable subsystems, the exponential stability and weighted L2-gain of the whole systems are guaranteed under an average dwell time scheme.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the problem of stabilisation and L 2 -gain analysis for a class of switched non-linear systems with norm-bounded time-varying uncertainties. A system in this class is composed of two parts: an uncertain linear switched part and a non-linear part, which are also switched systems. When all the subsystems are stabilisable and have an L 2 -gain, the switched feedback control law and the switching law are designed respectively using average dwell-time method such that the corresponding closed-loop switched system is exponentially stable and achieves a weighted L 2 -gain.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the stability for a class of switched uncertain neutral systems. The uncertainty is assumed to be of structured linear fractional from which includes the norm bounded uncertainty as a special case. Based on the property of completeness of systems, by using an improved Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, a switching rule for the asymptotical stability of this systems is designed from the solution of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problems of stability and H ∞ performance for a class of switched stochastic neutral delay systems. By applying the average dwell time method, sufficient condition is first derived to guarantee the mean-square exponential stability of the switched stochastic neutral system. Then, the condition on a weighted H ∞ performance is proposed. The corresponding results are all formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:The concept for switched neutral delay system is introduced for the first time in this paper. The asymptotical stability problems for switched linear neutral delay systems are considered. By using single-Lyapunov technique and multiple-Lyapunov function technique, some sufficient conditions of asymptotical stability and the corresponding switching laws are given in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Under the assumption that there exist finite candidate controllers with known gain matrices but none of them can stabilize the neutral delay system, the hybrid state-feedback control laws are designed such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable. The simulation example about partial element equivalent circuits (PEEC) demonstrates the effectiveness of the design method.

Abstract:This study studies the problem of exponential stability and L-2-gain analysis of a class of switched systems with delay varying in an interval. By using a newly constructed Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and the average dwell-time scheme, delay-dependent sufficient conditions are obtained which are expressed as linear matrix inequalities. These conditions provide a solution for finding a switching signal under which exponential stability and normal L-2-gain of the switched delay system are guaranteed. Abstract:This paper investigates the problems of stability and L_∞ -gain analysis for a class of positive switched systems with time-varying delay. Attention is focused on designing a state-dependent switching rule such that the system satisfies a prescribed L_∞ -gain performance level, where the proposed scheme does not require the switching instants to be known in advance. By constructing an appropriate co-positive type Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, sufficient conditions for exponential stability with L_∞ -gain performance of the underlying systems are derived. Furthermore, the stability along the switching surface is analyzed. Finally, two examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper considers the finite time stability and finite time boundedness problems for switched linear systems subject to L2 disturbances. Differently from the existing average dwell-time technique, state-dependent switching control strategy is used to design the switching rule, which does not require the switching instants to be known in advance. Sufficient conditions for the switched systems to be finite time stable and finite time bounded are derived; the occurrence of sliding motion will not destroy the stability with the proposed conditions. Moreover, L2-gain analysis problem is also considered. The proposed conditions are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Several examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
