Abstract:The organic matters extracted from the pyrolysis of macerals, which were selected from the Cretaceous coals in the Tarim Basin,in close system were analyzed by using the combined gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The results show that the carbon numbers of n-alkane fractions pyrolyzed from maceral samples are distributed as bimodal patterns. With the increase of heating temperatures, the intensities of second peaks in bimodal patterns are gradually decreased. This indicates that the n-alkane compounds could be easily degraded by the thermal interaction.Due to the variation of chemical components and structures of various macerals, the hydrocarbons were generated from different macerals through different processes. The pyrolysis of vitrinite needs high thermal energy to produce major gas hydrocarbons. The pyrolysis of exinite could effectively produce hydrocarbons. It is considered as a good hydrocarbon source.Although hydrocarbons could be limitedly generated through the pyrolysis of inertinite, they are relatively stable and poorly affected by the thermal degradation. Thus, the inertinite could be reconsidered as the gas source. In the whole pyrolysis experiment, the pristane was predominantly generated through the pyrolysis of various macerals selected from coals. With the increase of heating temperatures, the Pr/Ph ratios of macerals is increased first(when the heating temperature is lower than 300℃) and then is gradually decreased(when the heating temperature is higher than 300℃).
