Grid File System Used in Remote Education Resource Management

Abstract:In remote education program,large amounts of educational resource files and large numbers of users should be managed.In such a grid environment,a high scalable,distributed file sharing approach with dynamic replication is needed.This paper reviews related activities in file sharing and proposes a Web-based distributed file management architecture called grid file system(GridFS) and describes its two fundamental services(namely,file access service and metadata service).GridFS would benefit most grid applications,interlinkage among digital libraries and hierarchical Web cache systems.
