Abstract:Considering the increasing use of information technology with established standards, such as TCP/IP and XML in modern industrial automation, we present a high cost performance solution with FPGA (field programmable gate array) implementation of a novel reliable real-time data transfer system based on EPA (Ethernet for plant automation) protocol and IEEE 1588 standard. This combination can provide more predictable and real-time communication between automation equipments and precise synchronization between devices. The designed EPA system has been verified on Xilinx Spartan3 XC3S1500 and it consumed 75% of the total slices. The experimental results show that the novel industrial control system achieves high synchronization precision and provides a 1.59-μs standard deviation between the master device and the slave ones. Such a real-time data transfer system is an excellent candidate for automation equipments which require precise synchronization based on Ethernet at a comparatively low price.

Abstract:Aiming at the detection and control problems of automatic surface mounting machine with high-speed and high-precision, the status of overseas advanced surface mounting technology and realistic production is first given. The key characteristics and functions of the motion control, visual recognition and PCB data are also analyzed. Based on the visual recognition, motion optimization and control algorithms are developed by the authors,and the whole software system is then designed and integrated. The program realization technique of surface mounting system is particularly presented.

Abstract:The system architecture of high-speed bus was studied to improve the control system communication speed and efficiency.A FPGA based high-speed bus applied in control system was designed and implemented,which is high real-time,high throughput,easy to expand and so on.The physical layer was based on multipoint-low-voltage differential signaling(M-LVDS) standard to achieve 256 Mbps serial communication.Multi-path optimization selection network redundancy through real-time link state maintenance was used in data link layer to ensure reliable communications while maximizing bandwidth utilization.The design was implemented on Xilinx XC3S400A FPGA and actual tests were done.Results show that communication speed and real-time performance are improved significantly compared with the current mainstream bus of control system,and the needs of upper applications are met to the greatest degree.

Abstract:This article presents a flexible and efficient methodology to optimize stack-up for multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) with enormous search space and various design constraints. PCB stack-up optimization is crucial in high-speed system design to achieve the desired electrical performance while reducing system costs. The stack-up optimization process is labor-intensive and time-consuming for a large number of layers. Moreover, after the optimization process, the electrical performance of a real design, such as the impedance and loss, may deviate from the target design due to manufacturing variations. Estimating the worst cases due to the manufacturing variations, referred to as “corner cases” in this article, is essential for a confident PCB design but challenging since the number of related parameters is large. In this article, PCB stack-up optimization and corner-case searching are addressed and greatly accelerated using the integer programming technique. All constraints are converted to mathematical equalities and inequalities that can be solved rapidly by an integer programming solver to obtain feasible stack-up solutions. After the cross sections of the transmission lines are optimized based on the stack-up design to achieve a target electrical performance, the upper and lower bound of impedance and loss are acquired using integer programming when the design parameters vary in a particular range. The proposed method is verified using multilayer PCB designs with practical constraints and demonstrates its effectiveness and high efficiency.

Abstract:PCI bus is widely used in modern electronic test and measurement fields.However,current testing facilities based on the PCI bus are mainly Target devices of PCI bus,which greatly limits the performance of testing facilities. This paper,firstly,presents the working principle in Initiator mode of PCI bus and then realizes the function of testing facilities worked in Initiator mode of PCI bus by the combination of PLX PCI9054 chip and FPGA.The design can effectively improve the real-time performance among testing facilities on data interaction,and can be used as connection between testing facilities and dedicated storage device.At last,the paper presents examples between devices which are worked in Initiator mode of PCI bus and fully verify the feasibility of the design.

Abstract:High speed real time data acquisition technology is receiving increasing attention due to exponentially expanding industrial control and measurement usage. Among high speed industry bus, PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) bus is one of the most widely used. The main objective of this paper is to enhance the speed of PCI bus for the application of data acquisition on the premise of real time data transfer. A kind of implementation solution based on FPGA and PCI bus is carried out, the application program is completed through SDK and LabWindows/CVI, and data transmission is realized by DMA mode and the ping-pong control of double SDRAMs, some factors which may influence the speed of data transfer are analyzed. Experimental results show that the proposed system has achieved a very high data transfer speed which is 86.9MB/s, it is especially suitable for real time and high speed applications.

Abstract:Component technology has rapidly expanded and become the dominating development technology in industrial automation. But the adoption of component-based control system engineering (CBCSE) is significantly slower due to the lack of appropriate methodologies. To address this problem, the IEC61499 Function Block (FB) standard is exploited. Based on a specific view on component technology as well as CBCSE, the component model and framework in the context of IEC61499 are identified. By integrating new technologies in software engineering with IEC61499, an innovative engineering methodology for CBCSE is proposed. The FB construct is employed as the main building component for modern industrial control system. Illustration is presented of a typical experimental system using the proposed engineering methodology, which promises to improve reusability, modularity, scalability and maintainability in automation systems, while supporting control engineering in a cost- and time effective manner.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the electronic industry, electronic equipment is more and more widely used in automobiles. The integration of electronic components on the Printed Circuit board (PCB) is getting higher and higher, the size is getting smaller and smaller, and the power is getting larger and larger, which leads to a sharp increase in the heat flow density of the whole PCB. The surface temperature of the chip is too high when it is working, which leads to a series of thermal failure problems. In order to improve the thermal characteristics between PCB and electronic components and improve the heat dissipation capability and reliability of PCB, this paper designed a vehicle controller PCB. PowerDC was used to conduct an electrothermal hybrid simulation analysis, and the temperature distribution of the whole board was obtained. Meanwhile, the structural layout of the PCB was optimized by increasing the heat dissipation hole, floor copper foil, and wiring width. Thus, the temperature of PCB and electronic components is reduced, which provides a vital reference for the thermal design of PCB.

Abstract:IBIS model is used to perform signal integrity simulations in high speed circuits. With the aid of simulation software, it can instruct how to choose chips, how to design circuits and how to lay out circuits. In the paper, the structure and application is introduced in brief. Through the debugging of a PCB and measuring some critical signals, some problems which can affect the quality and the electromagnetism interface (EMI) of a PCB are involved. The problems include overshot and crosstalk. The methods of solving them are got via simulations based on IBIS model and the critical signals meet the requirements.

Abstract:As a widely used open-architecture computer bus, VME bus is increasingly applied in military, aerospace, transportation and other large-scale control systems. Lithography, a very delicate and complicated integrated circuit manufacturing equipment, uses many circuit boards with VME interface in its control system, including one single-board computer, many movement control boards and one data acquisition board. This paper designes communication modules which include VME bus module and VME user-defined bus module for multi-boards in Lithography control system. VME bus module is designed for the communication between the single-board computer and movement control boards and VME user-defined bus is designed for the communication between movement control boards and data acquisition board. The experimental results demonstrate its effectiveness.

Abstract:Based on the embedded Linux system, this paper studies the high-speed data transmission system for the IC test. The AXI4 Burst interface module between DDR and FIFO is designed by using data transmission segmentation method, which can minimize the transmission cycles. The read/write channel of the communication module between ZYNQ and FPGA has both a data/instruction valid signal and an accompanying clock, which can improve stabilization of data transmission. Finally, to design device driver and application for the data transmission peripheral by using memory mapping, which helps users to operate and manage the peripheral and a large number of files for IC test. Experimental results show after many tests, the sending and receiving files are consistent, indicating that the system can transmit data correctly and stably. The data transmission rate of the system can reach 540Mbps.

Abstract:Based on Gigabit Ethernet and PCI-EXPRESS two kinds of bus protocol,dual-channel industrial CT data transmission system is designed.Digital signals from data acquisition module are respectively sent to an external network or IPC through Gigabit Ethernet and PCI-EXPRESS.The two protocols can communicate with each other between the increase system utilization.For existing similar systems integration is not high status,designs using SOPC technology in the soft IP core and hard IP core co-design,making the whole system can be realized in the on-chip.Soft-core use of Altera's Nios II processor introduced in the design process used and some of their own custom components,the preparation of Gigabit Ethernet and PCI-EXPRESS transceiver drivers,and completed a data flow processor inside protocols conversion.More modern design of similar systems in the integration and reliability are much improved.After tested,the system functions to meet the transmission requirements of industrial CT,dual-channel working properly,and the node can be used as Gigabit Ethernet applications in industrial control computer.

Abstract:In order to adapt to the development of science and technology and the needs of society, cryptosystem is also developing towards high speed and high reliability. This paper adopts PCI-Express BUS to replace the traditional PCI BUS, because PCIE is a serial bus in the form of point-to-point, the scheme can avoid the timing out of sync problem when PCI Bus transmits data, the scheme can solve the problem of highspeed data transmission between FPGA and PC. This paper introduces the design of DMA asynchronous transmission scheme based on PCIE bus, and the effectiveness of this scheme is proved by the verification.

Abstract:PXI Express is a high data bandwidth bus and it can provide high speed differential clocks and trigger signals.In order to reduce the complexity of the design,in this paper,the selected scheme adopts high performance FPGA with embedded PCI Express hard IP core to achieve the design of PCI Express interface.The Qsys design flow is introduced into FPGA logic design to present a series of interfacing logic subsystems aiming at various applications and all related IP cores.At last,a test platform is set up and the test result shows that the whole design is functional.
