Abstract:Exploratory well fracturing is a means of stimulating the well by fracturing to understand reservoir and to identify pay zone in expectation of obtaining an even larger breakthrough in increasing reserves and production, and of causing the non-productive area to be changed into a productive area with economic returns, thus enlarging the achievements of oil and gas exploration. By taking Anpeng low-permeability oil field in Henarrprovince as an example, the application of exploratory well fracturing technique in the field is introduced in the paper. An important breakthrough has been obtained in deep formation exploration by use of the technique in the field. Not only high-yield wells but also new exploration strata have been found in the field, thus opening up the thinking of exploring for oil, and giving a reference to oilfield old-area exploration. Through investigation, it was indicated that, by applying the modern and advanced exploratory well fracturing technology and by taking the optimal fracturing design as a means and the single-well productivity increase as the goal, the recognition of reservoir characteristics has been deepened, which could cause the originally nonproductive area to be changed into a productive are with rela-lively high economic returns, thus quickening the steps of exploration and development in the region.
