Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)], the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by four acetate anions and one isoquinoline mol-ecule in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry; the Cu(II) cation is 0.1681 (6) Å from the basal coordination plane formed by the four O atoms. Each acetate anion bridges two Cu(II) cations to form the centrosymmetric dinuclear complex. Within the dinuclear mol-ecule, the Cu⋯Cu separation is 2.6459 (4) Å. A parallel arrangement of isoquinoline ligands of adjacent complexes is observed in the crystal structure; the face-to-face distance of 3.610 (10) Å suggests there is no π-π stacking between isoquinoline ring systems.

Abstract:The title complex, [Cu3(C9H8BrNO4S)2(C7H4BrO2)2(C10H8N2)2]·H2O, lies on an inversion center located on the central Cu atom, which is four-coordinated in a square-planar geometry, whereas the outer Cu atoms related by symmetry are five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The trinuclear mol-ecules, with an intramolecular Cu⋯Cu separation of 6.313 (3) Å, are linked to each other, forming a chain through O - H⋯O and O - H⋯Br hydrogen bonds involving the half-occupied water mol-ecule. Futhermore, weak C - H⋯O inter-actions link the chains to form a supra-molecular network.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cu(C8H7O2)(2)(C12H8N2)], the Cu-II atom is located on a twofold axis and assumes a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, formed by a phenanthroline molecule and two methylbenzoate anions, all in chelating mode. The carboxylate group chelates to the Cull atom with greatly differing Cu-O distances, viz. 2.5923 (19) Angstrom in the axial direction and 1.9435 (14) Angstrom in the equatorial plane.

Abstract:The title compound [Cu4Cl6O(C7H6N2)(4)].2C(2)H(5)OH, consists of the tetranuclear copper(11) complex and uncoordinated ethanol molecules. The structure was reported previously by Tosik, Bukowska-Strzyzewska & Mrozinskl [J. Coord. Chem. (1991), 24, 113-120], but only 0.68 ethanol molecules were found in the asymmetric unit. The present redetermination indicates that two ethanol molecules occur in the asymmetric unit. One ethanol molecule is ordered while the other one is disordered, with the hydroxyl group in two alternative sites. Both disordered hydroxyl groups hydrogen bond to the ordered ethanol molecule with O...O separations of 2.845 (16) and 2.67 (2) Angstrom, and O-H...O angles of 156 and 147degrees, respectively.

Abstract:The title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(4)O(5))(C(6)H(6)N(4)S(2))].H(2)O, displays a square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The tridentate oxydiacetate dianion chelates the Cu(II) atom in the facial mode. The large difference [0.487 (4) A] between the longest Cu-O distance in the basal plane and that in the apical direction correlates with the small displacement of the Cu(II) atom [0.0576 (13) A] from the basal plane towards the apex of the square pyramid. The intermolecular hydrogen-bonding network results in a closely overlapped arrangement of the coordination basal plane and the thiazole ring of a neighboring molecule.

Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C7H5O4)(2)(C7H6N2)(2)]center dot 3H(2)O, the Cu-II ion is coordinated by two benzimidazole (bzim) molecules and two 3,5-dihydroxybenzoate (dhba) anions in a tetrahedrally distorted square-planar geometry. Aromatic pi - pi stacking is observed between parallel bzim ligands and between roughly parallel bzim and dhba units. An extensive O - H center dot center dot center dot O and N - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen-bonding network helps to consolidate the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cu(C7H5O3)(2)(C7H6N2)(2)], (I), the Cu-II atom, located on an inversion center, is surrounded by two 4-hydroxybenzoate anions and two benzimidazole molecules in an elongated octahedral geometry, the longer Cu - O distance being 2.618 ( 2) Angstrom in the axial direction. The partially overlapped arrangement and the short face-to-face distance of 3.405 (6) Angstrom suggest pi-pi stacking between benzimidazole ligands of neighboring molecules.

Abstract:The title polymeric complex, [Co(mu-C4H2O4)(C7H6N2)(2)( H2O)(2)](n), displays a one-dimensional chain structure bridged by fumarate dianions. In the crystal structure, the polymeric chains are linked to each other by hydrogen bonds. The overlapped arrangement and the short separation of 3.35 (2) Angstrom suggest the existence of pi-pi stacking between parallel benzimidazole rings. The Co-II atom exists in a centrosymmetric octahedral geometry.
