Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[MnNa(C(6)H(4)NO(3))(3)]·H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) cation is located on a threefold rotation axis and is chelated by three 2-oxidopyridinium-3-carboxyl-ate (opc) anions in an octa-hedal coordination. The Na(I) cation is located on a threefold rotation axis and is surrounded by six O atoms from three opc anions. The opc anions link the Mn and Na cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The uncoordinated water mol-ecule, located on a threefold rotation axis, is equally disordered over two sites. The three-dimensional network is consolidated by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Na4Ni(C8H3O7S)(2)(H2O)(12)](n), the Ni-II cation occupies an inversion centre and is coordinated by the carboxyl groups of the sulfoisophthalate trianions and water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. Two independent Na-I atoms are connected by the carboxyl and sulfonate groups of the sulfoisophthalate ligands anions and water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The sulfoisophthalate ligands and coordinated water molecules bridge the Ni-II and Na-I cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric structure. Weak pi-pi stacking is present between parallel benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.9349 ( 10) A]. Extensive O-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonding helps to stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title compound, [CoNa4(C8H3O7S)(2)(H2O)(12)](n), is a three-dimensional coordination polymer bridged by sulfoisophthalate trianions and water molecules. The Co-II atom, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two carboxylate groups of the sulfoisophthalate trianions and by four water molecules in a distorted CoO6 octahedral geometry. Two independent Na-I atoms also have a distorted octahedral coordination geometry formed by water, carboxylate O and sulfonate O atoms. An extensive O-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen-bonding network is present in the crystal structure, as well as weak pi-pi stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.9553 (11) angstrom].

Abstract:In the title compound, Na[Cr(C4H5NO4)(2)] . 1.5H(2)O, the Cr-III-centered complex anion displays an octahedral coordination geometry formed by two facial iminodiacetate dianions, with two N atoms in a cis configuration. The Na+ ion is surrounded by one water and five carboxyl O atoms, with Na-O distances of 2.3221 (15)- 2.5531 (18) Angstrom. There is an extensive hydrogen-bonding network in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the title salt, [Mn(C10H8N2)(H2O)4][Mn2(C8H3O7S) 2(C10H8N2)2(H2O)4]·4H2O, consists of mononuclear manganese(II) cations, dinuclear manganate(II) dianions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The dianion is located about an inversion center; the MnII atom is coordinated by a 2,2′-bipyridine ligand, a sulfonatoisophthalate group, a water mol-ecule along with two bridging water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral geometry. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the MnII atom is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and a chelating 2,2′-bipyridine ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A partially overlapped arrangement between the bipyridine ligands and the aromatic ring of the sulfoisophthalate group of adjacent anions is observed; the distance (3.357 Å) indicates π-π stacking. Hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecules serving as hydrogen-bond donors, lead to a three-dimensional network architecture.

Abstract:The title compound, caesium lanthanum tetrametaphosphate, CsLa(PO3)4, was grown using the flux method and its structure determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. This compound is isostructural with CsNd(PO3)4. The structure is built up from infinite helical chains, (PO3)n, which are connected by isolated LaO8 dodecahedra and irregularly shaped Cs polyhedra. These chains are formed by corner-sharing of PO4 tetrahedra and run along the b axis.
