In this article, the second Oriental species, Systenus jinxiuensis sp. nov., is reported from China and described as new to science. An updated key to the species of Systenus from Asia is provided.

Abstract:Only two species of Systenus Loew, 1857 were previously known to occur in China. Here we report Systenus from Yunnan with the following six new species: S. apicidigitatus sp. nov., S. basiflavus sp. nov., S. digitatus sp. nov., S. flavilateralis sp. nov., S. huanglianus sp. nov. and S. latimaculatus sp. nov. A key to the species of Systenus from China is provided.

Abstract:The genus Systenus Loew, 1857 (Dolichopodidae: Medeterinae) is recorded for the first time from Colombia through the description of four new species: S . bickeli sp. nov. , S . colombiensis sp. nov. , S . fuscus sp. nov. and S . grossus sp. nov. and by the record of five previously described species: S . beatae Naglis, S . flaviatus Naglis, S . maculipennis Bickel, S . naranjensis Bickel and S . parkeri Bickel. A key to the males, high resolution photographs and distribution map of the nine Colombian species are provided.

Abstract:Previously, no records of Syntormon Loew, 1857 species were known from Inner Mongolia (China). The genus is reported here from Inner Mongolia for the first time, with the description of a new species, S.sinicum sp. nov., along with two previously described species, S.dukha Hollis, 1964 and S.henanense Yang & Saigusa, 2000. Syntormonsinicum sp. nov. and S.dukha Hollis, 1964 are barcoded for the first time to support the species delimitation. A key to Syntormon species in China is provided.

Abstract:Syndyas singaporensis, new species, is described from mangroves in Singapore. Syndyas aterrima de Meijere, 1913 (Ceram, Indonesia), S. brevior de Meijere, 1910, (Krakatau, Indonesia) and S. elongata de Meijere, 1910, (Java, Indonesia) are redescribed. Lectotypes are designated for S. elongata and S. brevior. A key, as well as a checklist, are given for all Oriental and Australasian species.

Abstract:The status of the 20 genera comprising at least 60 species of Sciomyzidae known from China is reviewed. Ten genera are recorded for the first time from China. A diagnostic key to all genera known from China is provided along with figures of the main characters. The geographic distribution of every genus known from China is discussed and distribution maps are presented. Recorded for the first time in the Oriental Region are 2 genera (Coremacera Rondani, 1856 and Pherbina Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830) and 5 species (in Dichetophora Rondani, 1868, Pherbellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830, and Tetanocera Dumeril, 1800). Euthycera meleagris Hendel, 1933, previously synonymized with Dichetophora meleagris (Hendel, 1933), is resurrected as a valid name. Pherbellia brevistriata Li, Yang & Gu, 2001 is placed as a junior synonym of Pherbellia nana reticulata (Thomson, 1869). Reported for the first time are the female of Pherbellia ditoma Steyskal, 1956 and the male of Pherbellia orientalis Rozkosny & Knutson, 1991, both discovered in China during this study.

Abstract:One new species in the genus Systolederus Bolivar,Systolederus guizhouensis Deng et Zheng sp.nov.is described from eastern and southern in Guizhou,China.The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology,Shaanxi Normal University,Xi′an,China. Systolederus guizhouensis Deng et Zheng sp.nov.(Fig.1) The new species is allied to Systolederus guposhanensis Deng,Zheng et Wei,2007,but differs in: 1)width of longitudinal furrow equal to width of first segment of antennae;2)pronotum 5.0 times as long as portion surpassing apex of hind femur;3)wings reaching apex of pronotum;4) width of midfemur of female equal to width of tegmina. Length of body:♂7.0~7.5 mm,♀8.0~8.5 mm;length of pronotum:♂7.5~8.0 mm,♀ 9.0~9.5 mm;length of hind femur: ♂ 4.5~5.0 mm,♀5.0~5.5 mm. Holotype ♀,Guizhou Ceheng(Rongdu),105.8°E,24.9°N,alt.900 m,2012-Ⅶ-21,collected by ZHANG Guang-hai.Paratypes: 2♂2♀,same data as holotype,collected by ZHANG Guang-hai and WU Zhao-rong;1♀,Guizhou Shibing(Shanmuhe),108.1°E,27.1°N,alt.950 m,2012-Ⅷ-09,collected by DENG Wei-an. Etymology:The new species name is from the type locality Guizhou,China.
