Abstract:We introduce new methods to describe admissible states of the six-vertex and the eight-vertex lattice models of statistical mechanics. For the six-vertex model, we view the admissible states as differential forms on a grid graph. This yields a new proof of the correspondence between admissible states and 3-colorings of a rectangular grid. For the eight-vertex model, we interpret the set of admissible states as an $\mathbb{F}_2$-vector space. This viewpoint lets us enumerate the set of admissible states. Finally, we find necessary conditions for a Yang-Baxter equation to hold for the general eight-vertex model.

Abstract:We present a generalization of the master solution to the quantum Yang-Baxter equation (obtained recently in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1006.0651" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1006.0651">arXiv:1006.0651</a>) to the case of multi-component continuous spin variables taking values on a circle. The Boltzmann weights are expressed in terms of the elliptic gamma-function. The associated solvable lattice model admits various equivalent descriptions, including an interaction-round-a-face formulation with positive Boltzmann weights. In the quasi-classical limit the model leads to a new series of classical discrete integrable equations on planar graphs.

Abstract:Given an arbitrary choice of two sets of nonzero Boltzmann weights for $n$-color lattice models, we provide explicit algebraic conditions on these Boltzmann weights which guarantee a solution (i.e., a third set of weights) to the Yang-Baxter equation. Furthermore we provide an explicit one-dimensional parametrization of all solutions in this case. These $n$-color lattice models are so named because their admissible vertices have adjacent edges labeled by one of $n$ colors with additional restrictions. The two-colored case specializes to the six-vertex model, in which case our results recover the familiar quadric condition of Baxter for solvability. The general $n$-color case includes important solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation like the evaluation modules for the quantum affine Lie algebra $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_n)$. Finally, we demonstrate the invariance of this class of solutions under natural transformations, including those associated with Drinfeld twisting.

Abstract:In this paper we discuss a constructive approach to check whether a constant Hamiltonian is Yang-Baxter integrable. We then apply our method to long-range interactions and find the Lax operator and $R$-matrix of the two-loop SU(2) sector in N=4 SYM. We show that all known integrable long-range deformations of the 6-vertex models of this type can be obtained from a Lax operator and an $R$-matrix. Finally we discuss what happens at higher loops and highlight some general structures that these models seem to exhibit.

Abstract:Using a fermionic version of the Lax pair formulation, we construct an integrable small-polaron model with general open boundary conditions. The Lax pair and the boundary supermatrices $K_{\pm}$ for the model are obtained. This provides a direct proof of the integrability of the model.

Abstract:In a recent note we presented a compact formula for the complete tree-level S-matrix of pure Yang-Mills and gravity theories in arbitrary spacetime dimension. In this paper we show that a natural formulation also exists for a massless colored cubic scalar theory. In Yang-Mills, the formula is an integral over the space of n marked points on a sphere and has as integrand two factors. The first factor is a combination of Parke-Taylor-like terms dressed with U(N ) color structures while the second is a Pfaffian. The S-matrix of a U(N ) × U(Ñ ) cubic scalar theory is obtained by simply replacing the Pfaffian with a U(Ñ ) version of the previous U(N ) factor. Given that gravity amplitudes are obtained by replacing the U(N ) factor in Yang-Mills by a second Pfaffian, we are led to a natural color-kinematics correspondence. An expansion of the integrand of the scalar theory leads to sums over trivalent graphs and are directly related to the KLT matrix. Combining this and the Yang-Mills formula we find a connection to the BCJ color-kinematics duality as well as a new proof of the BCJ doubling property that gives rise to gravity amplitudes. We end by considering a special kinematic point where the partial amplitude simply counts the number of color-ordered planar trivalent trees, which equals a Catalan number. The scattering equations simplify dramatically and are equivalent to a special Y-system with solutions related to roots of Chebyshev polynomials. The sum of the integrand over the solutions gives rise to a representation of Catalan numbers in terms of eigenvectors and eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix of an A-type Dynkin diagram.

Abstract:Motivated by the realisation of Yang-Baxter equation of 2d Integrable models in the 4d gauge theory of Costello-Witten-Yamazaki (CWY), we study the embedding of integrable 2d Toda field models inside this construction. This is done by using the Lax formulation of 2d integrable systems and by thinking of the standard Lax pair $L_{\pm }$ in terms of components of CWY gauge connection propagating along particular directions in the gauge bundle. We also use results of the CWY theory to build quantum line operators for 2d Toda models and compute the one loop contribution of two intersecting lines exchanging one gluon. Other features like local symmetries and comments on extension of our method to other 2d integrable models are also discussed. We also comment on\textrm{\ }some basic points that still need a refinement before talking about a fully consistent embedding of Lax pairs into CWY theory.

Abstract:We study 1-loop MHV amplitudes in 𝒩 = 4 super Yang-Mills theory and in 𝒩 = 8 supergravity. For Yang-Mills we find that the simple form for the full amplitude presented by Del Duca, Dixon and Maltoni naturally leads to one that has physical residues on all compact contours. After expanding the simple form in terms of standard scalar integrals, we introduce redundancies under certain symmetry considerations to impose the color-kinematics duality of Bern, Carrasco and Johansson (BCJ). For five particles we directly find the results of Carrasco and Johansson as well as a new compact form for the supergravity amplitude. For six particles we find that all kinematic dual Jacobi identities are encapsulated in a single functional equation relating the expansion coefficients. By the BCJ double-copy construction we obtain a formula for the corresponding 𝒩 = 8 super-gravity amplitude. Quite surprisingly, all physical information becomes independent of the expansion coefficients modulo the functional equation. In other words, there is no need to solve the functional equation at all. This is quite welcome as the functional equation we find, using our restricted set of redundancies, actually has no solutions. For this reason we call these results virtual color-kinematics duality. We end with speculations about the meaning of an interesting global vs. local feature of the functional equation and the situation at higher points.
Lax Pairs of the Sixth Painlevé Equation 109 2 On the discrete matrix Lax pair of q − P 6

Abstract:Among the recently found discretizations of the sixth Painlevé equation P6, only the one of Jimbo and Sakai admits a discrete Lax pair, which does establish its integrability. However, a subtle restriction in this Lax pair prevents the possibility to generalize it in order to find the other missing Lax pairs. It happens that the same restriction already exists in the matrix Lax pair of Jimbo and Miwa for the continuous P6. In this preliminary article, we remove this last restriction and give a matrix Lax pair for P6 which is traceless, rational in the dependent and independent variables, holomorphic in the monodromy exponents, with four Fuchsian singularities in the complex plane of the spectral parameter. Its only minor drawback is the presence of the apparent singularity which always exists in the scalar Lax pair.

Abstract:We show that the same algebraic data that permit to construct the Lax pair and the $r$-matrix of an integrable non-linear $\sigma$-model in $1+1$ dimensions can be also used for the construction of Lax pairs and of $r$-matrices of several other non-trivial integrable theories in $1+0$ dimension. We call those new integrable theories the point particle ${\cal E}$-models, we describe their structure and give their physical interpretation. We work out in detail the point particle ${\cal E}$-models associated to the bi-Yang-Baxter deformation of the $SU(N)$ principal chiral model. In particular, for each complex flag manifold we thus obtain a two-parameter family of integrable models living on it.

Abstract:We propose a fully discrete analog of the massive Thirring model in light-cone coordinates by constructing its Lax-pair representation. This Lax-pair representation can also be used to define a new Yang-Baxter map, so we obtain a Yang-Baxter map that admits a continuous limit. We present most of the results for the general case where the dependent variables are matrix-valued.

Abstract:Reviews in Mathematical Physics, Ahead of Print. In this paper, we study the factorization formulae for the Lax matrices of the classical Ruijsenaars–Schneider and Calogero–Moser models. We review the already known results and discuss their possible origins. The first origin comes from the IRF-Vertex relations and the properties of the intertwining matrices. The second origin is based on the Schlesinger transformations generated by modifications of underlying vector bundles. We show that both approaches provide explicit formulae for [math]-matrices of the integrable systems in terms of the intertwining matrices (and/or modification matrices). In the end, we discuss the Calogero–Moser models related to classical root systems. The factorization formulae are proposed for a number of special cases.

Abstract:We complete the classification of $4\times 4$ regular solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. Apart from previously known models, we find four new models of non-difference form. All the new models give rise to Hamiltonians and transfer matrices that have a non-trivial Jordan block structure. One model corresponds to a non-diagonalisable integrable deformation of the XXX spin chain.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the color-kinematics duality in nonlinear sigma model (NLSM). We present explicit polynomial expressions for the kinematic numerators (BCJ numerators). The calculation is done separately in two parametrization schemes of the theory using Kawai-Lewellen-Tye relation inspired technique, both lead to polynomial numerators. We summarize the calculation in each case into a set of rules that generates BCJ numerators for all multilplicities. In Cayley parametrization we find the numerator is described by a particularly simple formula solely in terms of momentum kernel.

Abstract:For any algebra two families of coloured Yang-Baxter operators are constructed, thus producing solutions to the two-parameter quantum Yang-Baxter equation. An open problem about a system of functional equations is stated. The matrix forms of these operators for two and three dimensional algebras are computed. A FRT bialgebra for one of these families is presented. Solutions for the one-parameter quantum Yang-Baxter equation are derived and a Yang-Baxter system constructed.

Abstract:The inhomogeneous six-vertex model is a 2$D$ multiparametric integrable statistical system. In the scaling limit it is expected to cover different classes of critical behaviour which, for the most part, have remained unexplored. For general values of the parameters and twisted boundary conditions the model possesses ${\rm U}(1)$ invariance. In this paper we discuss the restrictions imposed on the parameters for which additional global symmetries arise that are consistent with the integrable structure. These include the lattice counterparts of ${\cal C}$, ${\cal P}$ and ${\cal T}$ as well as translational invariance. The special properties of the lattice system that possesses an additional ${\cal Z}_r$ invariance are considered. We also describe the Hermitian structures, which are consistent with the integrable one. The analysis lays the groundwork for studying the scaling limit of the inhomogeneous six-vertex model.

Abstract:In this paper, we present Lax pairs and solutions for a nonsymmetric lattice equation, which is a torqued version of the lattice potential Korteweg-de Vries equation. This nonsymmetric equation is special in the sense that it contains only one spacing parameter but consists of two consistent cubes with other integrable lattice equations. Using such a multidimensionally consistent property we are able to derive its two Lax pairs and also construct solutions using Bäcklund transformations.

Gluon dressing of the axial vector vertex and the quark self-energy function are described by the inhomogeneous Bethe-Salpeter equation in the ladder approximation and the Schwinger-Dyson equation in the rainbow approximation, respectively.
