Abstract:Under regular heating or microwave irradiation, 3-alkyl substituted imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines were synthesized from 2,2'-pyridil or di-2-pyridyl ketone and aliphatic aldehydes in the presence of ammonium acetate and acetic acid. Compared to the traditional heating condition, 3-alkyl imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines were obtained with higher yields and shorter reaction time under microwave irradiation. All products were characterized by their H-1 NMR, MS spectra and elemental analysis.

Abstract:A one-pot two-step reaction of 4-aminocoumarin with arylglyoxal monohydrates and p-toluenesulfonates has been developed, which offers 3-alkoxy-substituted chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones in moderate to good yields. At first, arylglyoxal monohydrates and 4-aminocoumarin were converted into 3-hydroxychromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-one intermediates in AcOH under reflux. Then the title compounds in an in situ reaction of the intermediates with p-toluenesulfonates catalyzed by DBU in refluxing toluene were obtained.

Abstract:A concise and efficient synthetic approach was developed for the synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones via a one-pot, three-component reaction of 4-aminocoumarin, arylglyoxal monohydrates, and aromatic amines promoted by KHSO4 in toluene under reflux condition. The attractive features of this protocol are operational simplicity, short reaction time, easy purification of products and good to excellent yields.

Abstract:A series of polysubstituted pyrroles were rapidly synthesized in moderate to good yields via catalyst-free one-pot three-component reaction of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds with primary amines and nitrostyrenes by using liquid-assisted grinding. This protocol provides several advantages over the conventional chemical synthesis, such as simple work-up procedure, wide substrate scope, short reaction time, and environmental friendliness. Structures of polysubstituted pyrroles were confirmed by H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, and ESI-MS studies.

Abstract:A mild, efficient, and environmentally benign one-pot synthesis of functionalized chromeno[4,3-b]pyrrol-4(1H)-ones by a three-component domino reaction of 4-aminocoumarins, arylglyoxal monohydrates, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in refluxing ethanol without the use of catalyst is reported. Abstract:A three-component reaction of one molecule of imine and two molecules of alkynoates is realized with the catalysis of Cu(I)–Fe(III) in a sequential manner to allow the direct synthesis of functionalized pyrroles, during which, one C–N bond and two C–C bonds are formed with high atom economy. This method benefits from easily available starting materials, low-cost catalysts, and convenient operations.

Abstract:A novel methodology for the synthesis of 2-amino-4-aryl(alkyl)-6-sulfanyl pyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles via a one-pot, three-component reaction of structurally diversified aldehydes with various S-alkylisothiouronium salts and malononitrile in water has been developed. Utilization of S-alkylisothiouronium salts as thiol equivalents greatly broadens the application of the current method, and also makes the reaction more environmentally friendly.

Abstract:A convenient Cu(I) Catalyzed three‐component coupling strategy for the synthesis of polysubstituted pyrroles is developed using simple and readily available building blocks like, 1, 3‐dicarbonyl compound, aryl amine &β‐nitrostyrene. A convenient Cu(I) Catalyzed three‐component coupling strategy for the synthesis of polysubstituted pyrroles is developed using simple and readily available building blocks like, 1, 3‐dicarbonyl compound, aryl amine, and β‐nitrostyrene. CuI has been rarely explored for the pyrrole ring synthesis and a comparative analysis of our current catalyst with a range of previously reported catalysts suggested that, CuI is one of the best catalysts for the multicomponent synthesis of polysubstituted pyrrole derivatives. Notably, this process has several advantages, including a simple and practical set‐up with hassle free reaction conditions, extensive substrate scope, short reaction time, high atom economy and environmentally favorable approach. This methodology provides an alternative approach to the highly substituted pyrroles and under optimized reaction conditions, polysubstituted pyrroles were formed in good to excellent yields. Cu(I) catalyzed Mannich reactions followed by Michael addition reactions along with subsequent intramolecular cyclization are believed to be the key steps of this reaction process.

Abstract:Ultrasound-assisted synthesis of pyrimido‌quinolindione derivatives via a multicomponent reaction and subsequent formylation with Vilsmeier–Haack reagent were performed. Compounds were prepared by a one-pot method from aminopyrimidinones, dimedone and aromatic aldehydes through a Mannich-type reaction sequence, and then functionalized under ultrasound irradiation and Vilsmeier–Haack conditions to give β-chlorovinylaldehyde products. Ultrasonically assisted reactions, experimental simplicity, good yields without using metallic catalysts and the control of hazardous material release are features of this simple procedure.

Abstract:Several biologically important 1-acetyl-3-carboxamide-β-carboline derivatives were rapidly synthesized by ultrasound-promoted amide coupling of 1-acetyl-9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indole-3-carboxylic acid with substituted aromatic amines. The major advantages of the proposed method are that use of ultrasound irradiations afforded the desired products in a drastically reduced reaction time and in excellent yields compared with conventional stirring.

Abstract:A convenient and practical method for the synthesis of 2-alkylthio-4-amino-5-cyano-6-aryl(alkyl)pyrimidines has been developed via a three-component, one-pot reaction from aldehydes, malononitrile and S-alkylisothiouronium salts in water at room temperature. A series of polysubstituted pyrimidines were prepared by this method in moderate to excellent yields. In addition, two kinds of pyrimidine-fused heterocyclic derivatives with potential pharmacological activity were constructed from our 2-alkylthio-4-amino-5-cyano-6-arylpyrimidines.

Abstract:Abstract The one-pot synthesis of pyrido[2,3-d] pyrimidine derivatives has been reported via Knoevenagel-Michal addition pathways using substituted aromatic aldehydes, Cyanoacetamide and 6-aminouracil in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent, with 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) as new organo catalyst catalyst under ultrasonic irradiation. The results showed that a series of aromatic aldehydes were effectively used to prepare the targeted pyrido [2, 3-d] pyrimidine derivatives with good to excellent yields (81-93 %) with no major effect on the yield of product by electron donating/withdrawing substituents. Short reaction time, environment friendly procedure, excellent yields, inexpensive and readily available catalyst are the advantages of this procedure. All synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and mass spectral data.

Abstract:An efficient and practical methodology for the synthesis of (benzo)thiazoles-containing amides through pyridine-mediated acylation of 2‐amino(benzo)thiazoles under ultrasonic irradiation was developed. The short reaction time (within 1 min), good functional group tolerance, experimental simplicity and ease of scale-up were salient features of the present strategy, which enables straightforward access to the expected products with good to excellent yields. Additionally, further transformations of the resulting amides were also studied.
