Abstract:A subgroup-closed formation F is called a formation with Shemetkov condition if every minimal non-F-group is either a group of prime order or a Schmidt group. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for formations with Shemetkov condition. From this, some known important results follow.

Abstract:L.A. Shemetkov posed a Problem 9.74 in Kourovka Notebook to find all local formations $\mathfrak{F}$ of finite groups such that every finite minimal non-$\mathfrak{F}$-group is either a Schmidt group or a group of prime order. All known solutions to this problem are obtained under the assumption that every minimal non-$\mathfrak{F}$-group is soluble. Using the above mentioned solutions we present a polynomial in $n$ time check for a local formation $\mathfrak{F}$ with bounded $\pi(\mathfrak{F})$ to be a formation of soluble groups with the Shemtkov property where $n=\max \pi(\mathfrak{F})$.

Abstract:For any local formation F, this paper gives a sufficient condition under which a group generated by two subnormal F-subgroups belongs to F. Also, for ally local formation F contained in the formation NA, this paper gives a necessary and sufficient condition under which a group generated by two F-subnormal F-subgroups belongs to F. From these, some other interesting results are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the properties of totally local formations of finite groups. We will prove that if F is a non-nilpotent totally local formation, then F/F-infinity(0) is a complemented lattice if and only if it is Boolean lattice, where F-o is the local nilpotent subformation of F. Thus, the interesting problem proposed by A.N. Skiba in his monograph, "Algebra of Formations" can be answered positively.

Formations of Finite Groups in Polynomial Time: the $\mathfrak{F}$-Hypercenter

Abstract:For a wide family of formations $\mathfrak{F}$ (which includes Baer-local formations) it is proved that the $ \mathfrak{F}$-hypercenter of a permutation finite group can be computed in polynomial time. In particular, the algorithms for computing the $\mathfrak{F}$-hypercenter for the following classes of groups are suggested: hereditary local formations with the Shemetkov property, rank formations, formations of all quasinilpotent, Sylow tower, $p$-nilpotent, supersoluble, $w$-supersoluble and $SC$-groups. For some of these formations algorithms for the computation of the intersection of all maximal $\mathfrak{F}$-subgroups are suggested.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group and F a saturated formation of finite groups. We say that G is quasi-F-group if for every F-eccentric chief factor H/K of G and every x. G, x induces an inner automorphism on H/K. In particular, we have the concepts of quasisoluble, quasisupersoluble, quasimetanilpotent groups, and so on. In this article, we obtain some results about the quasi-F-groups and use them to give the conditions under which a group is quasisoluble, quasimetanilpotent, or quasisupersoluble.

Abstract:Let H be a subgroup of a finite group G. If G contains a maximal subgroup M such that H is a maximal subgroup of M, then H is called a 2-maximal subgroup of the group G. A subgroup U of G is said to be a strictly 2-maximal subgroup of G if U is a 2-maximal subgroup of G and U is not a 2-maximal subgroup in any proper subgroup of G. We investigate finite groups with X-subnormal strictly 2-maximal subgroups for any subgroup-closed formation X In this group, any proper subgroup has a nilpotent X-residual. In more detail, we study the case where X = A1F for some subgroup-closed formation F and the case where X is a soluble saturated formation.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group and ${\mathcal{F}}$ a formation of finite groups. We say that a subgroup H of G is ${\mathcal{F}}$ -supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup T of G such that G = TH and ${(H\cap T)H_{G}/H_{G}}$ is contained in the ${\mathcal{F}}$ -hypercenter $Z_{\infty}^{\mathcal F}(G/H_{G})$ of G/H G . In this paper, we use ${{\mathcal F}}$ -supplemented subgroups to study the structure of finite groups. A series of previously known results are unified and generalized.

A subgroup H of G is said to be weakly 's-quasinormal in G if G has an S-quasinormal subgroup T such that HT is S-quasinormal in G and (H boolean AND T)H-G/H-G <= Z(G/H-G), where Z(G/H-G) denotes the -hypercenter of G/H-G. In this paper, we study the structure of finite groups by using the concept of weakly (s)-quasinormal subgroup.

Abstract:Suppose that π be a set of primes and F-fraktur sign a local Fitting class. Let Kπ(F-fraktur sign) be the set of finite π-soluble groups with a Hall π-subgroup belonging to F-fraktur sign. In this paper, we show that the class Kπ(F-fraktur sign) is a local Fitting class. Thus, an interesting Shemetkov question for Fitting classes will be answered positively. By using the result, the F-fraktur sign-radical of a Hall π-subgroup of a finite π-soluble group is described. For an H-function f, we also give the definition and its description of f-radical of a finite π-soluble group. Some known important results follow. © 2007 Heldermann Verlag.

If [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text], then [Formula: see text] is said to be a local formation defined by [Formula: see text]. If [Formula: see text] for all [Formula: see text], then [Formula: see text] is called a DH-function. In this paper, we prove that every local formation can be defined by a DH-function [Formula: see text] and each value of the DH-function [Formula: see text] is a DH-formation. Besides, we also give the necessary and sufficient condition under which a local Fitting class [Formula: see text] is a DH-formation.

Abstract:We answer the open problems 19 and 21 proposed by Shemetkov and Skiba in their recent article on multiple Q-composition formations of finite groups (see Skiba and Shemetkov, 2000a). In particular, we obtain a description for noncancellative factorizations of 1-generated omega-composition formations.
