Abstract:An effective scheme within two displaced bosonic operators with equal positive and negative displacements is extended to study qubit-oscillator systems analytically in a unified way. Many previous analytical treatments, such as generalized rotating-wave approximation (GRWA) [Phys. Rev. Lett. 99, 173601 (2007)] and an expansion in the qubit tunneling matrix element in the deep strong coupling regime [Phys. Rev. Lett. 105, 263603 (2010)] can be recovered straightforwardly within the present scheme. Moreover, further improving GRWA and the extension to the finite-bias case are implemented easily. The algebraic formulae for the eigensolutions are then derived explicitly and uniquely, which work well in a wide range of the coupling strengths, detunings, and static bias including the recent experimentally accessible parameters. The dynamics of the qubit for an oscillator in the ground state is also studied. At the experimentally accessible coupling regime, GRWA can always work well. When the coupling is enhanced to the intermediate regime, only the improving GRWA can give the correct description, while the result of GRWA shows strong deviations. The previous Van Vleck perturbation theory is not valid to describe the dynamics in the present-day experimentally accessible regime, except for the strongly biased cases.

Abstract:The problem of time evolution and squeezed states of the generalized quadratic time-dependent harmonic oscillator was studied by use of the time-evolution operator approach. Then, the squeezed states and high-n squeezed states of the driven harmonic oscillator with strongly pulsating mass were constructed. Finally, the paper shows how the squeezed-coherent states and high-n squeezed-coherent states, which preserve the minimum uncertainty condition, can be generated.

Abstract:The Lewis' invariant and exact solution for the driven generalized time-dependent harmonic oscillator is found by making use of the Lewis-Riesenfeld quantum theory. Then, the adiabatic asymptotic limit of the exact solution is discussed and the Berry's phase for this system is obtained. We then proceed to use the exact solution to construct the coherent state and calculate the corresponding exact classical phase angle. This phase angle can give the Hannay's angle in the adjabatic limit. The relation between the exact Lewis' phase and the corresponding classical phase angle is discussed.

Abstract:This study explores the time-dependent Dunkl-Pauli oscillator in two dimensions. We constructed the Dunkl-Pauli Hamiltonian, which incorporates a time-varying magnetic field and a harmonic oscillator characterized by time-dependent mass and frequency, initially in Cartesian coordinates. Subsequently, we reformulated the Hamiltonian in polar coordinates and analyzed the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Dunkl angular operator, deriving exact solutions using the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant method. Our findings regarding the total quantum phase factor and wave functions reveal the significant impact of Dunkl operators on quantum systems, providing precise expressions for wave functions and energy eigenvalues. This work enhances the understanding of quantum systems with deformed symmetries and suggests avenues for future research in quantum mechanics and mathematical physics.

Abstract:This paper presents an investigation into one- and three-dimensional harmonic oscillators with time-dependent mass and frequency, within the framework of the Dunkl formalism, which is constituted by replacing the ordinary derivative with the Dunkl derivative. To ascertain a general form of the wave functions the Lewis-Riesenfeld method was employed. Subsequently, an exponentially changing mass function in time was considered and the parity-dependent quantum phase, energy eigenvalues, and the corresponding wave functions were derived in one dimension. The findings revealed that the mirror symmetries affect the wave functions, thus the associated probabilities. Finally, the investigation was extended to the three-dimensional case, where it was demonstrated that, as with the solution of the radial equation, the solutions of the angular equation could be classified according to their mirror symmetries.

Abstract:This paper presents a comprehensive investigation of the problem of a harmonic oscillator with time-depending frequencies in the framework of the Vlasov theory and the Wigner function apparatus for quantum systems in the phase space. A new method is proposed to find an exact solution of this problem using a relation of the Vlasov equation chain with the Schrödinger equation and with the Moyal equation for the Wigner function. A method of averaging the energy function over the Wigner function in the phase space can be used to obtain time-dependent energy spectrum for a quantum system. The Vlasov equation solution can be represented in the form of characteristics satisfying the Hill equation. A particular case of the Hill equation, namely the Mathieu equation with unstable solutions, has been considered in details. An analysis of the dynamics of an unstable quantum system shows that the phase space square bounded with the Wigner function level line conserves in time, but the phase space square bounded with the energy function line increases. In this case the Vlasov equation characteristic is situated on the crosspoint of the Wigner function level line and the energy function line. This crosspoint moves in time with a trajectory that represents the unstable system dynamics. Each such trajectory has its own energy, and averaging these energies over the Wigner function results in time-dependent discreet energy spectrum for the whole system. An explicit expression has been obtained for the Wigner function of the 4th rank in the generalized phase space $\left\{ x,p,\dot{p},\ddot{p} \right\}.$

Abstract:In this work, we investigate the multimode Brownian oscillators in nonequilibrium scenarios with multiple reservoirs at different temperatures. For this purpose, an algebraic method is proposed. This approach gives the exact time-local equation of motion for reduced density operator, from which we can easily extract not only the reduced system but also hybrid bath dynamical information. The resulted steady-state heat current is found numerically consistent with another discrete imaginary-frequency method followed by the Meir-Wingreen's formula. It is anticipated that the development in this work would constitute an indispensable component to nonequilibrium statistical mechanics for open quantum systems.

Abstract:The stationary Schroedinger equation of the harmonic oscillator is deformed by a Darboux transformation to construct time-dependent potentials with the oscillator profile. The Darboux (supersymmetric or factorization) method is usually developed in the spatial variables of the Schroedinger equation. Here we follow a variation introduced by Bagrov, Samsonov and Shekoyan to include the time-variable as a parameter of the transformation.

Abstract:In this article the time evolution operator of two interacting quantum oscillators, whose Hamiltonian is an element of the complex $\left\{ h(1) \oplus h(1) \right\} \uplus u(2)$ algebra, is analyzed using the Feynman time ordering operator techniques. This method is consistently used to generate the conditions and to formally find explicit disentangled expressions for such operator. In this way, it is shown that all the problem reduces to solve a complex Riccati-type differential equation. Some closed solutions to this differential equation are found and then concrete disentangling expressions for the time-ordered evolution operator are given. Finally, the time evolution of the coherent states linked to the isotropic 2D quantum oscillator are analyzed under alternative time-independent an time-dependent Hamiltonian systems.

Abstract:A quantum transformation that can diagonalize the Hamiltonian of a ring of N coupled diatomic oscillators is found. By means of the transformation, the dispersion relation of the atomic system is obtained. For large N it turns out that the dispersion relation resembles to the phonon spectrum of the lattice vibration derived by Newton's equation of motion.

Abstract:An algebraic method to solve the time-dependent inverted harmonic oscillator (TDIHO) is proposed, and the analytical expressions of the wavefunctions obtained by this method are suitable for discussion of the quantum tunneling effect. With the Gaussian wave packet as the initial state, the general expressions of transmission and reflection probabilities, and dwell time of TDIHO are obtained.
